As the steam forms, the pressure inside increases and tiny bubbles are created. This pressure pushes water out through the ends of the tubes and due to the reaction force the boat starts moving forward. [music] But tubes are cooler than the tank, so the steam quickly cools down and condenses back into water. This creates suction [music] inside, which pulls water from outside back into the tubes. Then, the candle's heat warms that water again, >> [music] >> turning it back into steam, increasing the pressure, and pushing the water out once more. This cycle of expanding when heated and contracting when cooled keeps repeating again and again.
