Train derailment north of Hannibal, hazmat teams on scene

[00:00:00]bro. A BNSF train was derailed in Marion County, Missouri earlier this afternoon.

[00:00:05]According to the Palmyra Fire Chief, Gary Crane, Marion County Emergency Management Director, John Hark, six cars dera- derailed from the train. The main engine stayed on the tracks. Several of the derailed cars had hazmat warnings, which meant the Hannibal Fire Department hazmat team was deployed. Highway 168 from County Road 408 to Highway JJ will be closed until further notice. No injuries were reported. First responders from the Palmyra Fire Department, Hannibal Fire Department, Marion County Emergency Management Department, as well as crews from BNSF and MoDOT were on the scene. John Hark, the Marion County Emergency Management Director, says the stretch of Highway 168 is expected to be closed going into tomorrow thanks to the scale of the derailment. I'm quite sure that I'm sure before we can get the uh crew that will be, you know, offloading the cars and then get the cars set back up and so forth and so on.

[00:01:11]As you heard Hark said it could be well into tomorrow morning, but Palmyra Fire Chief Gary Crane predicted to me at least a day and a half for the cleanup.
