Tacray, Bibury And SQT - They Keep Winning!

[00:00:00]have some really cool things to talk about, some brand new colors from By Berry, some brand new tools from Tacray, and some pretty good deals that I want to let you guys know about. Let's jump into this. Now, the first thing is this By Berry, what they're calling the 19-in-1.

[00:00:18]These are in G10, and By Berry reached out to me after I already made a video on the orange one. They said, "Hey, what about testing out one of our other colors?" Now, these come in the orange.

[00:00:30]They also come in the red, then also green and black. I chose the red because I thought that would be cool to have that as well. So, this is just like the previous one we have already discussed.

[00:00:46]This comes with the serrated blade, the gut hook, the saw on this side, the knife with the thumb stud. This one is very easy open, pretty neat. This set of scissors, opening this up, the wave style plier head with the crimpers at the bottom, replaceable wire cutters.

[00:01:12]The inside has this ball detent blade.

[00:01:17]On the other side, also there are ruler markings, keep that in mind.

[00:01:22]Can opener, wire cutter, large screwdriver, diamond file, the all, the micro screwdriver with the Phillips and the small flathead on the bottom. A really nice tool complement. I really like this, and just to keep this in perspective, just these G10 handles alone, at least when you get ones that are pretty much these ones for the Leatherman Charge, these right here go for $60 just for a set of G10. If you can find them, that is a good deal. So, they go for a lot of time $75, $80, $100 or so. I'm still working on my project of basically a cut-down multi-tool using those G10 scales, but in the future, I might actually get some of these from Byberry and tear them apart. Just the scales alone would probably be worth the amount they're asking for this multi-tool. All right, so let's get into some of the not-so-positive aspects about this tool.

[00:02:28]Depending on how you like to carry your tools, these do not have pocket clips, so you're forced to carry them with this pouch. This pouch will be a little bit heavier and or bulkier, not really heavier. Does come with these extra bits that sit on the front. These are a little bit hard to get back into this pouch. I'll just leave them out there for now. All right, now the only other major problem I have with this is the scissors. Now, already on the orange one, I talked about how the scissors were a little bit disappointing. Now, these obviously can cut through things like this, very thin material, or we could cut paper with this. So, yeah, does a great job with that. But when we get to heavier things like paracord, for some reason, these scissors struggle.

[00:03:23]Now, they can cut through paracord, it will take a little longer to get through it, nothing like the just silver version. These scissors might actually be better than the orange ones, not sure why. So, maybe some scissors are a little bit better. Now, maybe these will get better with time. Some of it, I think, might have to do with the coating. Maybe they need sharpened. Some people feel like maybe these need pinned together pinned together a little bit more the pivot. I'm not sure. I haven't looked into all that yet, but just be aware that is the major negative of that tool. Unfortunately, is the scissors.

[00:04:08]Everything else is pretty good. As I've already mentioned, just the G10 scales alone maybe worth the price. Let's talk about price. So, the orange ones have been marked down to around $41.

[00:04:19]These still are around the $60 mark.

[00:04:22]We'll have to see if they drop just as the orange ones do, but definitely at $40 I think that's a pretty good deal.

[00:04:29]You could get another cheap multi-tool and probably swap from another Byberry like on a Black Friday sale and swap maybe silver scissors out for that. I would think that would work perhaps, but I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure, but I would think that might be a fairly easy solution. Otherwise, yeah, pretty nice tool. Okay, let's move on. Now, recently I saw that SQ T was running sort of like a flash sale. So, I actually bought two of these. This is the MQ51.

[00:05:04]These are not on sale anymore, but the MQ52 is. That would be the scissor version.

[00:05:11]These are only $12 at the moment.

[00:05:14]Sometimes these scissors people have complained that they do pop out. This is not a perfect tool, but I think for $12 it is Yeah, I think it's a pretty good deal. Now, some people have complained about the glass breaker and all the cutting instruments. This has a rope cutter, the scalpel, also has a package opener with the file on it. One of the ways that you can sort of fix that is you can get this little 4 mm driver on AliExpress. I'll try to leave a link below. It's like $3 per driver, at least it used to be. And then it's a 4 mm to 4 mm adapter. That's all you need. Then you can just convert to this glass breaker to a 4 mm driver.

[00:06:02]Yeah, so that's pretty neat.

[00:06:04]That's it becomes a lot more useful that way. Then you have the screwdriver, you've got the knife, also the file. And then yes, you do have you know, a couple of these spaces filled up with cutting tools, but otherwise yeah, I think it makes a lot more sense. And especially on the scissors, some of the tools on here actually do make more sense if you're carrying this for like in the medical profession or as a extra backup for like a first aid kit, then it does make a little bit more sense, especially to throw in your car. Yeah, pretty nice little tool with a pocket clip and it's not extremely light, but it is a pretty small footprint in the pocket. Now, Tact Ray just recently reached out to me and they said, "Hey, we would like to send you one of our newer products." Now, Tact Ray makes a lot of stuff. I really recommend their small pen. It is a little pricey, but it is a great one of my favorite EDC pens actually to use with the screwdriver in the end. And this is their Vento. This comes with a little lock on it, so it does not fly out in your pocket. I know a lot of people have complained about sharp edges that can be very dangerous in your pocket. This is locking. Both sides are locking. Not only is the knife, but on this side, there we go. You have to push in on that side.

[00:07:39]This is very handy with this clip. This comes in titanium. Is this one right here. And these are G10, the blue, the pink, black, and green. Now, green is on sale right now for $22. These are $24 at the moment. And then this one is $35, the titanium. They advertise this as weighing around 0.86 oz, so not even an ounce.

[00:08:08]These are extremely light. Basically disappear. You do not know that they're there.

[00:08:18]So, even a little bit better than some of the steel that we're used to on these multi-tools. I really love just how much Tacray puts into the design of these tools. Little things you don't think about like the lock, the pivots, just everything seems to be made a little bit better. So, I would definitely recommend this. Check this out. I will have all the links below this video. So, click on the more. So, the G10 comes in at 0.8 oz. The titanium comes in at just 1.1 oz.

[00:08:57]When we move this over to grams, titanium will be 31 g and then the G10 will be 24 g. So, the titanium will be a little heavier. Although, it is These are beautifully machined. Really, really cool. And I may have to be careful because already my kids said, "Oh, look.

[00:09:18]There's just enough for one for each of us." But, that's not going to happen.

[00:09:23]Now, there may be some of you that like watches and I've really been getting into watches a little bit more lately.

[00:09:30]And I have been shocked by how much even on AliExpress, the watch market has surged. I mean, doubled and tripled from last year. It's becoming almost, yeah, unaffordable to collect watches from AliExpress, which seems like an oxymoron, but they are becoming very, very pricey. So, what I did was I actually found this brand, and I was not expecting much, and I'm still not sure if I should expect much, but so far, I have been impressed. These come in around $20. Now, that is what I used to spend, well, probably $10 from Walmart all the time. And these watches, I really like the textured dials. It's a little hard to see, but they have like a wave pattern. This comes in teal, there is black. Uh, this right here reminds me of one of the Addies Dive watches, and it's sort of mimicking like one of the Grand Seiko's in the design, and also like the Christopher Ward watches. I believe one of the ones they just re-introduced.

[00:10:31]Now, this shows up as white, and in certain lights, it definitely looks white, but it actually is basically just a silver dial that is very light silver.

[00:10:41]These have very little loom. They maybe light up for 5 minutes or so after you take them from a bright light into a dark room. So, they're not great that way, but as far as the watch themselves, they wear very nicely. The bracelet, yes, it's hollow inside, and it is a little rattly, but these are 21 mm you can put them on a strap. I put this on a NATO strap. It's not as easy as finding like a 20 mm strap for this, but I was able to find this maybe three, four dollar strap. I actually did cut down the ends on or the end rather, and then it fits pretty nicely on this one. So, I want to let you guys know that this is a very ultra-affordable option. I will be checking this out, wearing this, and seeing how long they last.

[00:11:34]I'm not sure what to expect, but so far I've actually been a little bit more impressed. Even Pagani watches that are extremely cheaply made are now 70 to 100 upwards climbing up toward $200 even in with some of their their designs.
