God's Word is holy because it originates from a holy God, and Jesus Christ came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it, revealing that God's law reflects His holy character and should be treated with reverence as a living, active word that shapes thoughts and actions.

05 29 2026 God's Word is Holy!Added:
Most of us eat every day, [music] some of us too much, because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy for today's needs. Why then do some of us expect yesterday's portion of heavenly mana, the word of God, to keep us through [music] today's challenges? On this program, we are going to change all of that. Let's experience God's [music] words today and receive the power we need to live healthy, vibrant lives.
Welcome to your [music] daily portion with your host, author, speaker L. David Harris. Good morning. Good morning.
[music] Good morning. It is Friday, May 29, 2026.
Hello, my name is El David Harris. I am your host and this is your daily portion where we give you God's word every single day. And today is no exception.
We are continuing in our lesson study series about how to have a right relationship with God, a transformational one. Yes. And our caption for today is God's word is Can you fill in the blank here? God's word is holy. That's the word for today.

Father, we thank you for this day of preparation. Thank you for giving us the privilege of coming together in this way. Will you give us your Holy Spirit today, please and thanks in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
And amen again.
So this is really a a simple quiz question and I know it's early. People are like, "Oh my, why would I do I need to have a quiz so early in the morning?"
Well, yes. Yes. Uh, why is God's word holy?
Why is God's word holy? Yeah. I'm going to give you a second. Go ahead and type it in the comments section. You're on YouTube. If you're on the radio, come on over to the YouTube channel at some point in your day and answer that in the comments section. Even though by the time you get there, the answers will be there. I want you to still go back over there and type it in. God's word is holy.
Okay? Because God is holy.
That's why. It's as simple as that. And so the source is holy. That means that what he says, everything that comes out of the mouth of God is holy. Everything that God is, remember Jesus in the beginning was the word and was uh uh and is with God and was God. Like in the beginning was the word. So Jesus Christ the word is holy. Huh? because that's the epitome of who he is. And then the words that we hear, the logos and the rama, that word that is is for everybody objectively. And then that that word that is directly for me as an individual that comes from God. All of that God breathed word is holy because God is holy. And therefore, we should treat it that way. treat the word of God like God himself. That means that we don't disrespect the word of God. That means that we don't turn our backs on the word of God. That means we do not elevate anything above the word of God. Do you understand where we're going with this?
And so our lesson number one today is coming in from Matthew chapter 5 and verse 17. Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets. I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. I mentioned this before. I don't remember how long ago it was. Maybe a few just a few days now. But the but the but the but the law of God I'm stammering. I apologize. the the law of God that has to do with the system of sacrifices, everything that has to do with sacrificing animals, the innocent victim as a representative of of us so that our sin transforms to the innocent victim, transfers to the innocent victim and then goes through a process into the sanctuary and then goes through a process, long story short, and eventually we become cleansed. That was a way that God showed his people in the Old Testament the process that he goes through for salvation and a symbol to show us Jesus Christ in the materials that were that were used. Oh my, even the direction that that the different aspects of the sanctuary were there in in in in uh among God's people. even uh the tribes and how they were stationed around the sanctuary with Judah being right before the gate or the door uh into the outer court which Jesus is and the colors and oh my word all of the furniture the symbolism all points to Jesus Christ the only pathway to salvation pathway to the throne of God and so all of that in its reality the Old Testament system that was symbolic.
It was a foreshadowing. It was a type that was fulfilled in Jesus Christ who is the genuine article. Jesus is as the Bible calls in the Old Testament. The Bible says that God is a a little sanctuary like so. So God is manifestation.
He is the reality in Christ. Like Jesus is it. This is the whole point of the the the plan of salvation and the sanctuary. So that was fulfilled. But the ten commandments law is not done away with. The ten commandments law is not done away with. That's the transcript of God's character. That is the reason we even needed this plan of salvation. That is the reason why we even had the blueprint for the sanctuary to guide us back to God because we broke the law, the ten commandments law and need a savior. So Jesus affirmed the authority and purpose of God's law. His life revealed the true meaning of obedience and demonstrated the character of God expressed through his law. I think I said that. So what is the action step? To study the teachings of Jesus today and allow his life to deepen your respect for God's law and his character.
Let me read a quote before I go to our next lesson. It's coming in from Prophets and Kings page 465 beginning there. Only as a reverence for God's holy word was cherished in the hearts of God's people could they hope to fulfill the divine purpose.
Can I say it again? Only as a reverence, that's respect for Uh-huh. Only as respect for God's holy word was cherished in the hearts of the people could they even hope to fulfill the divine purpose. Whatever God has already mapped out for you what his goal for your life is only as we have reverence for his word can we even begin to broach that. You understand like there are people who are seeking uh their purpose from the universe in air quotes. What is the universe? I What is that? Like, who is that? If you're saying that you're seeking God's created order in order to understand God's will or to get some kind of a message from way out in space somewhere, that is not what God wants.
God is the one who's speaking to us. His word is truth. is for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man and woman of God may be perfect or complete truly furnished unto all good works. And so we go to God directly and not to his creation. Okay. So our lesson, our final lesson for today is coming in from Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 12 as we come to a swift close.
For the word of God is quick. That means it gives us power and powerful or life, pardon me, and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. That means that it is active. It it is possessing of life.
And so the action step knowing that God's word is living and active is to approach scripture today with reverence and attentiveness.
So God's living word can do two things.
Shape our thoughts. shape our actions.
Yeah. Make it a great day and we'll see you tonight at 7 [music] p.m. for musical Bible class. Peace.
Thanks for joining us listening friends.
Always remember we cannot live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth [music] of God. This has been your daily portion with L. David Harris.
Make it [music] a great day.
