Jap Show 2026-Testing new parts on a 800hp turbo hayabusa ready for the FIM Championship!

[00:00:16]Okay, so we just turned up at Japo 2026 um just to do some pre-esting before the uh European Championship. We've had a few chassis issues going through this season. Uh we're making a bit more power now. found a bit of horsepower through the winter. Um, and it's creating a little bit of a a struggle to get the bike from one end to the other. So, um, after the Spring Speed Nationals, the bike was almost impossible to ride. So, I went to work, stripped the whole bike down, went through it, measured everything, and I found a few things that needed a bit of attention. Um, it's just wear and tear over the years and the abuse that the bike gets. So, um, I've come up with some new ideas, um, that we're looking forward to testing tomorrow. And, uh, we'll let you guys know how we get on Heat up here.

[00:01:56]Okay, so we're just back from our first pass of the of the weekend with our new updated parts and uh upgrades. Um like to say they worked extremely well.

[00:02:08]Um the track's a bit loose at the moment, which is great for uh testing these items because uh as we roll into the power at half track, um the the chassis gets put under extreme load. So um yeah, the the parts we've made are working extremely well. Uh looking forward to the main event now um where we can uh use uh the adjustable link to uh tune the chassis. So I'll just sort of show you around what we've done. Uh so in the past uh there's a a swing arm that you can buy. It's called a club foot swing arm and it has like a huge aluminum piece down one side that uh supports this outer left uh bearing. Uh we wanted to make something as adjustable. So as the track changes throughout the weekend, we can tune the chassis with the track. So I decided to do um an adjustable link. Um, so, uh, yeah, we can we can put add or take preload out of the chassis as the weekend goes on. So, definitely something you'll probably see on, uh, future bikes, super street bike and pro street bike. It's uh, it's tidy, doesn't really get in the way. Um, and it makes the bike handle so much better. So, um, yeah, this is this is it here. So, you can see what we've done. Um, we're going to do another test pass now. We just adjusted the chassis very slightly. Um, but the bike feels solid underneath me.

[00:03:30]It's given me a lot of confidence to put some horsepower back in.

[00:04:09]Okay, so that's testing completed. We only need to make two test passes this weekend cuz it went so well. The first run, we lost traction around 60 ft, but got back on the power. chassis felt really good. Um so we came back just tweaked the tune up a little bit, made a couple of little chassis changes to um make use of the tie bar that we've got.

[00:04:30]Um and then uh yeah, went back down for another pass. Um Santaod Raceway track crew done an incredible job on the track. Uh give it a good sled and glue for us. So uh put the second pass in with a bit of a conservative tune. Um, not very good short numbers just to get us moving, but um, it started to pull from 330 uh, and we went a 678 at 225 mph. Um, yeah, not much more to say that the the testing has gone like as well as it could do. Um, the power levels we've got in reserve for the short numbers uh, show like promising results for the main event. So, uh, yeah, just made two test passes. didn't want to put too much more strain on the engine. We'll keep it in there ready for main event now and uh see what we can do there.
