[00:00:00]It's here, baby. Just got a note in the mail. Got this package that showed up from the UPS guy. Came with a letter, which we will read, but first, most importantly, came with some keys. Keys to a box that we received from Astro Tools a little bit ago.

[00:02:08]Dear Eric, congratulations on the 1 million subscribers. This is your classic SMA special edition air hammer with the big 498.

[00:02:16]What makes this model extra spicy is it's a 9x air hammer with ports and valve body bored out to become a 10x air hammer, which technically doesn't exist, or does it? The only stuff up in power from this is no longer pistol-shaped and has a bore that no automotive bits fit into. Speaking of bits, here are some new prototype 498 Thor bits made from a new alloy to hopefully put up more of a fight. It includes a new cupped head hammer that hopefully stays on the end of the bolt longer during use. We're open to feedback on. So, that's interesting. So, they took a hammer bit, made it uh, you know, concaved if you will, and ideally that stays on a bolt head longer. So, uh definitely will be interested in trying that.

[00:03:12]Uh let's see. We have a separate set in a case just like this you can give away to a random viewer of yours in the comment section to celebrate the milestone.

[00:03:25]I don't know if it means a separate set of bits or separate set the whole shebang. that I will find out and I will keep you guys informed on that because if it's a set of bits, I want to make sure that the person that receives them has a 498 air hammer or is going to purchase one.

[00:03:45]Oh, so flat bit, curved bit, straight punch, big and skinny. Looks like maybe like a 38 and 1/2 inch, something like that.

[00:04:00]And then the anti-rotational chisel bit.

[00:04:03]Best best kind of chisel bits to buy are the ones that that lock into the coupler like that. Keeps them from rotating.

[00:04:37]Well, Astro Tools, this is very humbling and very much appreciated, and I'm very excited about this, and I can't wait to use this and and demo this uh a oneoff 10x air hammer that technically doesn't exist. I want to see what this looks like compared to the OG, the the 498K.

[00:05:50]Uh, of course, he'll probably see this video as well, and then I will let you guys know about the uh uh the separate set that they have. I'll find out if it is a separate set of the bits or if it's the whole custom ported unit. I know they did that on the on the original one, but either case, I will I will be in touch with you folks and let you know. Definitely interested to try out their new bits. Now, I don't know what kind of feedback they have had. Uh but their other bits, uh honestly, I haven't had an issue with. Um I've used the Astro bits and I believe it's Gray Pneumatics, the GP ones, Grey Pneumatics. Uh, and I've had great luck with both of their bits in a 498 shank.

[00:06:30]As a matter of fact, I don't know if I've broken any of them.

[00:06:34]Of course, the chisel always takes the beating. And I've wore the chisel out, we'll say, because, you know, you beat the crap out of it and then you end up resharpening it. Well, eventually you end up with a little stub and and that's it. But I don't think I've broke any.

[00:06:48]Uh, your standard 401 shanks, like your Snap-On bits, Mac bits, uh, I break lots of those. you know, the hammerheads will break off, but the 498s have been uh remarkably stout. So, really cool, man. I can't wait to start using this. Thank you again. Uh and yeah, million subscribers. Wow. Who would have thought back in 2014 when Dr. O started making spoof videos, finding out people really like to watch this stuff? Fast forward a few years, here we are.
