Marco Rubio India Visit | Marco Rubio Meets NSA Ajit Doval; Security, Counter-Terror Talks In Focus

[00:00:00]US Secretary of State and American National Security Adviser Marco Rubio has met his Indian counterpart Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Dualwal at the Hyderabad House. We are being told that the Indian NSA and the American NSA discussed regional security, counterterrorism and defense collaboration between United States and India. Now today's national security advisor level meeting at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi was to take forward the agenda that was set during the PM level meeting uh talks with a focus on deepening strategic and economic cooperation. Remember viewers, Marco Rubio had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday along with NSA Dwal as well as external affairs minister Jay Shankar. Meeting took place for more than an hour at Sivat and today after meeting and holding dialogue with J.

[00:00:53]Shankar he has met NSA Ajit Dowal as well. Joining us is Himmanu Shakhar of NDTV who's tracking this very very closely. Himmanu what's the latest that you can tell us security counterterrorism on top of the agenda in this NSA level meeting?

[00:01:17]Uh Hanchu I'm not sure if you can hear me. Uh could you tell us more about the meeting between Marco Rubio and Ajit Dual and what was the top of the agenda?

[00:01:30]>> Well, this was part of the larger large higher level interactions between India and the United States. Remember Marco Rubio has very categorically asserted that US and India want to build up and scale up the strategic ties uh between the two countries and this interaction of course needs to be seen in that context. Uh it is also important that there are important developments expected in the Middle East and India of course has concern with regard uh to the state of Hamu situation and Marco Rubio in fact has been very categorical in saying uh that this new uh deal that is being talked about the peace deal will ensure that the state of Hobus is opened up for cargo traffic. So this is also an issue on which Prime Minister Modi himself has many times asserted that India wants free navigation through state of Hormuz. Uh there is also a talk of scaling up defense ties especially in the field of high technology.
