face is all covered in you. And I'm finding it interesting. You're wearing glasses, too, and I can't see you. And you have long sleeves on and >> and I I can can't even see your mouth or your eyes. So, >> is that necessary?
>> Yes, it is actually.
>> We don't allow eyes in.
>> Let's Let's tone it down. Let's tone it down a notch. Let's tone it down a notch.
>> I'm just letting you allow. You're very loud past here.
>> So, you're not going to let me use the restroom?
>> If you'd like to use the restroom, I'll let you go to the restroom and then you can walk right back in.
>> Okay. Yeah. No, I appreciate it. That's That's all I needed. I wasn't planning on going past here. Other than that, maybe in a little bit. I would ask that you allow my employee to continue her job.
>> I never stopped her.
>> Is it not?
>> I never stopped her. I never stopped her. I'm allowed to ask questions. So if I have a question >> and if it is about enrolling your child or >> if I have any questions regarding business here at this facility, >> someone to help you.
>> Yeah. I'm just saying but I'm allowed to ask questions. Ma'am, tone it down. I'm happy to help you.
>> You work for the people. Tone it down.
You're causing a disturbance.
>> You work for the people. Tone it down.
You're causing a disturbance.
Welcome back. You're here today with your boy Anthony X. And today I'll be conducting a First Amendment audit at the administration building for the Campbell Union School District. Let's see if they honor and respect my rights to take pictures and video in public and work on my story in peace. That being said, do me a favor, smash that like button, leave a comment, let me know where you're watching from, and definitely hit that hype button, guys, if you're watching on YouTube. And no bootlicking.
Let's do this.
Get a shot here of this.
>> Hello.
>> Hello.
>> How are you?
>> Good. How are you?
>> I'm good right now.
>> You good right now?
>> I'm good right now, thank you.
>> Okay. Are you coming to meet with somebody?
>> Uh, I can't get into it right now. I'm >> Excuse me.
>> I can't get into it. I'm preoccupied.
>> Okay, good. Are you going to meet with somebody?
>> I can't get into it.
Okay. Um, unfortunately you can't pass over there. Sir. Sir.
>> What was that?
>> Please.
>> What were you saying?
>> That you can go over there.
>> Yeah, there's a sign there. There's a sign there.
>> Okay. Thank you.
>> Yeah, I know how to read.
Now, if a member of the public wants to use the restroom. Do we need like a key or a pass or how does that work?
>> Can I help you?
>> I was just asking her a question.
>> And can I help you?
>> I was just asking her a question.
>> And I'm here to answer her questions.
Can I help you?
>> Yeah. I was asking if I needed to use the restroom, do I need to get a pass to go past this point or how does that work?
>> Faculty senate.
>> I'm sorry.
>> Faculty senate.
>> Um, can I get you to sign in, please? We have people sign in. If >> Oh, I'm I'm I'm a journalist, so I'm exempt from that. We have private >> California Penal Code 127.2. All right, guys. Let me pause it just for a moment.
Under California Penal Code 627.2, outsiders typically do need to sign in when you're on school property. However, this is not a school, and even if it was under this penal code, it wouldn't even apply to me. Let's get back into it. I'm a journalist. I'm letting you know. So, I'm just asking if I wanted to use the restroom right there.
>> Your face is all covered. You're not >> Well, you and I'm finding it interesting. You're wearing glasses, too. And I can't see you. And you have long sleeves on. And >> And I I can can't even see your mouth or your eyes. So, >> and I I can can't even see your mouth or your eyes. So, >> and I I can can't even see your mouth or your eyes. So, >> is that necessary?
>> Yes, it is. Actually, >> we don't allow ice in this.
>> Let's Let's tone it down. Let's tone it down a notch. Let's tone it down a notch.
>> I'm just letting you know. No, >> you're just very loud. You're very loud here.
>> So, you're not going to let me use the restroom? I'd like to use the restroom.
I'll let you go to the restroom and then you can walk right back in.
>> Okay. Yeah. No, I appreciate it. That's that's all you needed. I wasn't planning on going past here. Other than that, maybe in a little bit.
>> I would ask that you allow my employee to continue her job.
>> I never stopped her.
>> Is it not?
>> I never stopped her. I never stopped her. I'm allowed to ask questions. So, if I have a question >> and if it is about enrolling your child or >> if I have any questions regarding business here at this facility, >> someone to help you.
>> Yeah. I'm just saying. But I'm allowed to ask questions. I'm tone it down.
>> I'm happy to help you. You work for the people. Tone it down. You're causing a disturbance.
>> You're causing a disturbance.
>> I'm asking you Well, a disturbance is someone that comes into an office with a face mask on.
>> What did you do during the pandemic, ma'am? What did you do during the pandemic?
>> Okay. I'm going to ask you to sit down and I'll find someone to talk to if you have questions.
>> I don't have any more questions. I just had that question about the restroom.
That was it.
>> Okay. Would you like to the restroom?
>> Maybe in a little bit.
>> Right now, I'm feeling a little unwelcomed. I'm just being honest.
Okay.
>> And what's your position here?
>> Um, that's not really >> It's actually public record under the California Public Records Act.
>> Go look it up.
>> So, I I I just look up and see like all the pictures of random people here.
>> All right, guys. I actually did go on their website for this location. And this is the closest picture I could find, the one on the right, of possibly whom I was speaking with. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
Keep in mind the picture on the right could have been taken years ago when she was much younger. Assuming it was her, and again, I'm not 100% sure. Here's the salary for this person.
>> So, at this point, I'd like to do a public records request >> to get on our website.
>> Since you're being unprofessional, I'd like to do a public records request at this point.
>> Sure. Let me get someone that will help you. So, if you want to have a seat, I'll wait for you.
>> I'll have get someone.
>> Shame. Shame. Shame.
Hey, Meta. Start recording.
A meta. Start recording.
>> Are you a friend of AJ's?
>> I'm not sure who AJ is, so probably not.
But I'm a friend of everybody as long as they're cordial and respectful of me.
Are you here to help me or?
>> Yeah. Yeah, I can see what you needed.
AJ came a few weeks ago.
>> I'm not sure even who AJ is.
>> Oh, okay. I figured you might be friends. He was here to also >> peacefully record questions. Yeah.
>> Okay. So, yeah, I did have one question there. I was actually I was just resting my back. I have a bad back. I was sitting down.
>> Appreciate it. Um, the lady up here was very helpful. She offered help, just to let you know. Um, I I didn't need any help. Told her I'm not here to go past any restricted areas. I was in the process of asking her one simple question because I may have to use a restroom in a little bit. I was asking her, "Do I need like a pass or anything to go past that point just to use the restroom?" And that's when the other lady came in and kind of interrupted and she was speaking very loudly >> and I don't appreciate her tone.
>> I told her twice that please deescalate.
You know, I know this is not a school, but you know, there's no need for any hostile.
>> Sure.
>> How do you say energy?
>> Absolutely.
>> So, at this point now, >> how can I help you? What are you >> two things now? At this point, I'd like to know what's your name and position here.
>> Oh, my name is Melissa Thei. I'm the assistant superintendent resources.
>> Perfect. We've been very cordial and respectful. I appreciate it. Oh, >> no worries.
>> And my second question is now um to prevent having to do a public records request and have to, you know, take a valuable resources. What was the lady who came out here and spoke to me and got you? you spoke to?
>> Well, the lady with the short hair who just came out here.
>> I didn't see her. I'm sorry. I don't know.
>> She just walked past you. She came said she went and got someone and then you came out.
>> I'm not sure who you're referring to.
>> So, you'd like me to show you a picture?
Well, the lady with the short hair who just came out here.
>> I didn't see her. I'm sorry. I don't know.
>> She just walked past you. She came. She said she went and got someone and then you came out.
>> I'm not sure who you're referring to.
>> So, you like me to show you a picture?
>> I I'm here to help you. It doesn't really m I don't >> Well, I'd like to understand what what I can do to help you right now.
>> Let me show you who I explain it to you in a moment.
>> That lady right there. I need I need to know her name and position cuz she refused to identify under California transparency laws. And if you'd like to give me a business card, that's fine.
I'll leave it at that.
>> I'm here to help you.
>> So, yeah. I'd like her I'd like her business card.
>> I don't have her card, but I'm here.
>> Does she have business cards?
>> I don't know she has cards.
>> So, I'd like to do a public records request at this point. When you're ready, let me know.
>> That's what the help I need.
>> Submit a written public record.
>> Yes, verbally. I have I have a disability, so I'm going to verbally give it to you >> and we'll have 10 days in which to respond. Your name and your contact.
>> You actually don't need that. I'm going to do it anonymously.
>> Well, I don't know how to give you the information.
>> I'll give you all that that >> at the end.
>> Sure.
>> Um, >> it's a very small one. Just one piece of paper will be not not a bunch of stuff.
>> You don't have a card that you can give me? I I'm out of cards right now, but I appreciate it.
>> Okay, >> maybe you can ask AG.
>> That just happened to be the last um gentleman who came and >> I I honestly don't if I knew who that was. I I don't know.
>> It's okay.
>> I'll have to look it up.
>> I'll have to do some digging myself now.
>> It's okay.
>> So, yeah. My public records request that I would like is >> the lady that was I was just pointing out with the short hair. I'd like to know her official her position here.
>> Okay.
>> Her title.
>> Okay.
>> Her name, how long she's been working for the Campbell School District.
>> Mhm.
>> And then I'd like to know her 2025 salary out the door. Everything that's including regular pay, overtime pay, other pay, pension, benefits, everything out the door. what she made in 2025.
Um, and then if she has a work email or a work phone, I'd like that information as well.
>> That information is all available.
>> Well, that's what I'd like it just to be official for documentation purposes.
>> Okay.
>> Because like I said, she didn't even want to identify and that's just kind of in my opinion shady.
>> Okay.
>> And that's it. That's all I need.
>> And where can I send this information?
>> Um, I'll come back and um I'll give you guys a little more than 10 days and I'll come back in around two weeks and I'll pick it up. You can put it under guy with a camera.
>> No, we've had >> That's actually the law. That's the law, ma'am. I can do it anonymously. Look up the law or call your district attorney's office here in Campbell. By law, you have to take my request >> and I'm allowed to do it anonymously.
>> And I'm allowed to do it submit it anonymously. I don't have to give any information.
>> Well, I want to >> I could give you an email, but I'm just going to come back and pick it up in person.
>> Sure. You understand why it's um maybe a little bit concerning for us. So, are we focused on this or are you just trying to get my information because you want it?
>> I would like to send you information.
The law for California public requests requires that we respond within 10 days.
>> It doesn't require that the information is given to you.
>> I know how it works, ma'am. I'm aware of that.
>> And you, since you know so much about it as well, you should understand that I can submit it anonymously, verbal or written.
>> And so, I'm doing it anonymously.
>> I'd like to make a notation under guy with a camera. someone comes back within two weeks to a month under the name of Guy with a camera that they should give me those records or response I should say.
>> You understand >> the response.
>> I want to be abundantly clear with you.
>> Yes.
>> You're not the first guy with a camera.
How about >> another individual comment?
>> I'm going to identify as a guy with a camera 007. How about that? There you go.
>> Got it. That's your identifier.
>> Guy with a camera 007.
>> Okay.
>> And hey, Meta, start recording.
All right. All right. That's all I need.
>> Appreciate you. Have a great day.
>> All right. You too.
>> Have a nice afternoon. You're just going to hang out for a while.
>> Yeah. I'm just going to finish getting some shots for my story that I'm working on.
>> I'm going to stay here in case you have any more questions.
>> I appreciate it.
>> I don't want you to feel like you're not getting the support you need.
>> Hey, start recording.
>> Perfect.
>> This all could have been prevented if she would have came out just a little more cordial and respectful.
>> I understand. You got to do what you got to do.
>> Yeah.
I mean, since you're here and you're on the tax dollar or dime, um I'm assuming you are aware that people can submit records anonymously, right? Since I'm sure you've had it seems like you have experience in it.
>> I have a little bit >> because you were trying to push it a little bit like I have to give you some information.
>> I just wanted to know where to send your information.
>> But after I even after I explained it, you were still kind of pushing it though.
>> Seems like you were just kind of fishing if you ask me. That's just my opinion though.
>> I understand. Again, I'm not here to go into restricted areas. I'm not here to give anyone a hard time. I honestly, if they would just left me alone, I would have got some shots for like 10 minutes, probably used the restroom, and left.
So, you say you're concerned cuz the guy has a mask on. What did you guys do during the pandemic?
>> She'll be right with you, sir. Thank you.
>> Did you guys shut down for a couple years?
>> We can maybe have this conversation and we don't have guests in our lobby.
That's okay.
>> I'm just speaking softly. I'll I'll keep it down. Unlike the lady that without her making a lot of noise.
>> So, how did you guys handle during the pandemic?
>> So, you don't want to speak at all?
>> Guests.
>> Gotcha. Gotcha.
>> That's kind of silly.
>> I don't want to be film.
>> Gotcha. Well, I'm not filming.
>> We haven't used film for for a long time, guys.
Are you here for a student related issue?
>> Was she helping you already?
>> Yes.
>> Okay.
>> You want to hold on to it?
>> How's it going, brother?
>> How you doing?
>> Good. Good.
>> Don't worry. I'll try to keep you off the best I can.
Is it something that we just need a photo copy? Is that all she needed from you?
>> It's okay. That's fine.
>> You don't mind waiting? I I'm sorry. She put a She put a sign up saying she'll be right back. So, I'm not sure if she has step away for a moment.
>> I appreciate You're welcome to have a seat if you'd like.
>> You want to wait over there? Okay.
>> Sorry. I don't know if she >> It's okay.
>> I have to take her.
>> Yeah.
>> She'll be back.
>> If you want to switch places, stay off the camera. I'll switch over there and you can get on the You want to sit down?
>> Do you know?
>> Thank you, sir.
So now that he's gone, how did you guys handle during the pandemic since you didn't want to speak to me when someone was here?
>> Well, during the pandemic, it was different. We were required to wear face coverings. That was what we were >> policy or by law, you mean? Or like the Santa Clara when they had the the mandate, the governor mandate. I mean, >> exactly. And it's not a mandate any longer. Yeah, >> it's it's a little surprising that you're wearing the hat and the glasses and the mask and you're trying really hard to hide your identity and it makes people a little bit nervous.
>> So, just because you like Let me ask you this. Like, let's just say I I took my mask off, took my glasses off, took my hat off, you still wouldn't know who I am. I mean, how would how would that help you?
>> It doesn't it's it's just the typical way that we interact with each other in society. That's not how we approach one another typically. I was trying to be nice and cordial and respectful.
>> The first lady that came in, I said, "I just so need help." And >> Well, yeah. I'm just You asked me a question about why it was concerning or problematic for me and it's just not how we typically greet or interact with one another.
>> So, if a little old lady comes in wearing a mask cuz maybe she has a medical condition, are you guys going to give her a hard time, too, and require her to take it off?
>> I'm not giving you a hard time.
>> You guys kind of were asked me the question, "Why?" And I said, "Because you're clearly wearing it to conceal your identity. I might have a medical condition. Okay.
>> That's why I had you take that cuz I do actually have a disability. I'm not going to get into the details or specs of it. I was just sucking on some cough drops, just so you know. That's why I'm trying to stand back here. You can probably hear it in my voice. It's a little horse.
>> So, that's one of the reasons, not just because of my identity.
>> You asked me the question.
>> Yeah. No. And I appreciate your honesty.
>> I appreciate it. I can't force you to say something that you don't mean, nor do I expect you to.
But I will tell you this, I come in peace. I'm not here to bother anyone.
I'm not here to uh give anyone a hard time. Um I'm not here to stick cameras in people's faces. I just wanted to check out our public building and get a look at it and would have been on my way if she was the other lady was a little more cordial and respectful. I hope you guys had a good experience with whoever that AJ is.
>> He was very polite and respectful and I was polite and respectful to him. It was Yeah. And do you think and just under your impression? I mean, it sounds like you know what what we pe we do when we come in with our cameras. Do you feel he was doing something similar to what I was doing or he wasn't just maybe a concerned parent?
>> I don't know. I can't I don't want to assume what you're doing. I don't want to assume what he was doing.
>> Well, I'm working on a story. I don't know what to try to be helpful.
>> Yeah, I'm I'm working on a story.
>> I don't know if if he mentioned if he was working on a story as well or if he was just trying to get service and document like, you know, maybe he had an issue with some someone within the school board. That's what I was asking.
Which I know you can't get into too much details about other people's business, but since you brought it up, that's why I was asking.
Yeah.
And I think you guys are open till 5 >> 4:30.
>> 4:30. Gotcha.
And because I'm a nice guy, if I do see any parents coming with kids, I will turn the cameras off or leave just to be nice.
>> I appreciate that. Obviously, people a little bit uncomfortable.
>> Yeah. Even the gentleman when you were gone, I asked I told him I'm going to try my best to keep him off of it. You know, I can't help if someone gets in front of me or walks past real quick, but >> I get you.
>> I'm not here for that.
>> What are What is it that I can do to help you for your story or whatever it is that you need?
>> Nothing at this point. I might I might want some more public records. I if I think of anything right now, I'm just gathering some content um for for the story. Once I get the shots I feel I need, I'll be on my way.
guys must not have a lot of work though if they can they can afford or or a big budget if they can afford to pay you to just sit here and babysit me.
I'm assuming I don't know if she's on her lunch or break but it's after hours for lunch. I don't know if she's just doesn't want to be out here because of me which is fine. I can't stop it guys.
Um, it's interesting though that they send the big boss out here because I have a camera. I'm not trying to go past the restricted area. I'm not sticking cameras in people's faces. I'm not here to yell or cause a ruckus. I'm just peacefully recording.
>> I'm guessing the >> uncomfortable when they're trying to do their job.
>> Yeah. No, I'm just narating somebody and record them.
>> Yeah. Yeah. No, I hear you.
>> Little makes people feel uncomfortable.
>> So, one thing I want to point out, guys, they have a camera right up there, which is public record. I could actually request that record. Um, whether they give it to me or not, that's a whole another issue. or if they redact anything or maybe you know blur out her face or you know obviously anything confidential on the on the screens but it's funny they talk about cameras but they're being watched se I don't want to say seven days a week but basically 9 to5 or 9 to 4:30 8 to 4:30 whatever time they start to whatever time they leave and I'm sure there's more cameras around the building but somehow it's interesting they could have and I'm just making up a number guys I don't know their logistics here but they could have two dozen cameras that doesn't bother bother them. But the second a citizen holds a camera. Code three, guys.
>> Ask you something really quick.
>> He's our Yes. Yes. I'll be right with him. You have a parent who's got some insurance information for you.
>> Okay.
>> As soon as he comes in, I'll take off just so you guys can do your thing.
>> I appreciate you.
>> She's back.
>> Thank you for your patience. I really appreciate you ladies.
>> Have a good day. Appreciate you. Take care.
>> Thank you.
