This video illustrates how government officials' responses to media scrutiny can significantly impact public perception and institutional credibility. During a press conference defending a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic, FBI Director Kash Patel engaged in a heated exchange with an NBC reporter, demonstrating how defensive and confrontational communication styles can undermine transparency and leadership effectiveness. The incident highlights the importance of respectful, transparent dialogue between government officials and the press, as well as the potential consequences of aggressive responses to legitimate journalistic questions.

Kash Patel Gets EXPOSED During Heated Press ConferenceAdded:
Well, we're starting today off with yet another breaking news developing story out of Washington. FBI director Cash Patel. Well, this genius held a press conference yesterday addressing the $250 million lawsuit, the defamation lawsuit against the Atlantic and what was meant to be a legal defense. Well, that [ __ ] quickly turned into a moment that's getting a whole lot of attention. And by the way, not the good attention for Patel. the kind of attention that gets you [ __ ] canned. But during that briefing, Patel had a somewhat heated exchange with an NBC reporter raising new questions about tone, transparency, and leadership.

>> In court, >> explain the computer login issue. Just explain the computer login issue. You were not able to log into the Yours contends that you were not able to log into the system. What did you think after you were unable to log into the system? Let's have a survey. How many of you people believe that's true? Hang on.
>> Did you communicate with >> You asked a question. Let me answer.
>> No, let me I Did you communicate with anyone that you thought you were fired after you you were unable to log into >> The problem with you and your report?
Don't cut me off. You asked a question.
>> Straightforward question.
>> The problem with you and your baseless reporting is that is an absolute lie. It was never said. It never happened. And I will serve in this administration as long as the president and the attorney general want me to do so. And every time you guys report false lies, every time you guys raise baseless questions, when we are here to talk about the Southern Poverty Law C Center's $3 million decadel long scheme to fraudulently fleece Americans, you are off topic.
>> It's a simple for straightforward question. If you talk to anybody about whether you thought >> the simple answer to your question is you are lying. And every time you do so, >> a direct question.
>> I've answered your question. It's simply as follows. I was never locked out of my systems. Anybody who says it >> lawsuit says the opposite. Your lawsuit contain >> anyone that says the opposite is lying.
>> The lawsuit that you filed says that directly >> men stop. You're being extraordinarily rude. And I know maybe that's part of your profession, but please just stop.
If if you ask a question, he can answer it. And then now you're interrupting me.
Like just a little bit of respect, man.
Just a tiny little bit. Try it sometime.
Go ahead.
>> Yeah. That's not going to play out well for Trump because it's true. It's actually in his lawsuit. And welcome back to the Michael Cohen show on our continued journey to a million subscribers. Let's get there. Yesterday, another good day with momentum. Let's keep it going. Hit subscribe, watch, comment, and share because well, this sort of stupidity, we need to bring it to an end. Now, another reporter then asked Patel to respond to the allegations in The Atlantic article that said, and I quote, "Pattel's unexplained absences were a national security risk."
Well, this was his response. Play the clip.
>> We are today.
>> I do want to give you an opportunity to respond directly to the allegations in the Atlantic article that your unexplained absences created a national security risk. And beyond that, can you say definitively that you have not been intoxicated or absent during your tenure as FBI director?
>> I can say unequivocally that I never listen to the fake news mafia. And as when they get louder, it just means I'm doing my job. This FBI director has been on the job twice as many days as every director before me. What that means is I've taken half as many days off as those before me. What that means is I've taken a third less vacation than those before me. What that means is that this FBI with this Department of Justice has dropped the murder rate 20 points. What that means is this FBI with this Department of Justice has captured eight of the top 10 most wanted fugitives in the world. Twice as many as the Biden administration did in its entire four years. What that means is this FBI has seized enough fentinel off the streets to kill 178 million Americans. A 31% increase. What that means is this FBI and this DOJ has arrested 43% more spies in 14 months than the entirety of the Biden administration. What that means is this FBI has seen a reduction in opiate overdose debts up to 20%.
Alone. What that means is that we have found 6,300 child victims. 6,300 families have their kids back. That is a 22% increase from the Biden administration. I'm on the job. I'm the first one in. I'm the last one out. I'm like an everyday American who loves his country, loves the sport of hockey, and champions, my friends, when they raise a gold medal and invite me in to celebrate. I've never been intoxicated on the job. And that is why we filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit. And any one of you that wants to participate, bring it on. I'll see you in court.
>> Explain the computer.
>> Okay, here's the problem with his lawsuit. Something that I wrote about my Substack yesterday. He should have taken a little hint from the litigation now uh taking place between Michael Wolf and Melania Trump, our first lady. All right, that means he now has to under oath. You could say whatever you want from that podium. You could lie like 175 million Americans they've saved from fentinel overdose. Just to put that into perspective, that's half the country that they allegedly saved. Um I'm going to call [ __ ] on that one. On top of that, The Atlantic sourced 24 people for that article. 24. So just imagine what these depositions are going to look like. And mind you, while all this is happening, act attorney general Todd Blanch, he joined Cash Patel on stage.
Why? I don't know. But a reporter then goes on and asks him, and I quote, "You are alleging that the Southern Poverty Law Center was paying the leaders of the KKK and other groups." That's what that's what it said. This was his response. Play the clip. I just want to make sure I understand. You're alleging that the Southern Poverty Law Center was paying the leaders of KKK and and other groups to continue their operations. Is that >> I'm not alleging it. The grand jury returned an indictment that says that.
And so what what the what the investigation found according to to the indictment that was returned today is that they were paying so so Southern Poverty Law Center is raising money asking folks to to give them money to dismantle racism and over a very long period of time. Um they were using some of the money they raised from donors to pay to they called them field you know the basically to to informants um to for information for access to just pay them for um for certain um to to do certain things and and so yes that's exactly what the indictment charges >> yeah can't wait for that case to come to fruition. Mind you my friends we have some breaking news right now right now on the Iran war.
We have some new developments that are coming out of Washington and specifically from Senator Roger Marshall. Now, Roger Marshall just finished going on Newsmax to discuss the ceasefire uh extension or if you want to call it the termination. Take a listen.
Play the clip.
>> Got it. So, last one on Iran for now. My sense from you is if this ceasefire, which was supposed to expire with Iran in a few hours, if that goes on for a few days, the mood on Capitol Hill is let's give the commander-in-chief a chance to negotiate here, force Iran to the table. But you just said if it goes on for weeks, the US military probably is going to have to go in and finish this job. Am I reading that right?
>> Yeah, I think that that's right. And previous presidents have had the same issues on what to do. Think about President Truman's decision on dropping the bomb and and D-Day for President Eisenhower. Every day is a new day. You got to take everything in into into consideration whether it's the the weather or are they truly making progress or not? And we really don't know what's going on behind the scenes as far as the negotiations go. But I'm taking this as a good thing that but in Iran, they have conflict with who's in control there as well. So hopefully this will give them them time to circle their wagons. But look, our military is locked and loaded. the embargo. Uh the the blockade is there as well. The president's got this. I've got confidence in the president >> that the president >> Yeah. Um again, he's already turning around and explaining he doesn't know, but but he's going to assume everything is great. He then goes on to explain the blockade saying they we are the United States literally starving them. Play the clip. But also we had this embargo working as well the blockade and we're literally starving them both financially as well as they can't feed themselves either very long to got it. So last >> you know uh that I'm not so sure what we are doing is we are stifling their economy which is approximately $500 million a day in oil sales. Now it's a lot. It's nowhere near the United States's GDP, but for them it's a lot.
And yeah, I do think the blockade is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, as I write in my Substack of today, the illusion of control. All right, there is an irony here or maybe we could even call it a we could call it maybe a tragedy because we have reached a point where fairness it's no longer a principle. we are using it as a weapon and that's something that you invoke when it benefits you right um and there's so much here that needs to be unpacked including that just this morning the war escalated you didn't think that they were going to sit back and do nothing it escalated when the IRGC captured two cargo vessels on the straight of Hormuse Roger Marshall well he says that the president wants to get to peace as soon as he can. Yeah. Along with the American people and the world.
Play the clip.
>> Uh look, this is the time to stand behind our president, behind our military. Could you imagine Iran with a nuclear weapon? If Iran had a nuclear weapon, gasoline would be uh $10 a gallon, and for generations to come, Americans lives would be threatened. So, it sounds like this latest breaking news is that I Iran is capitulating. And not surprisingly, they have two different factions there. It's really hard to negotiate with these irrational, emotional, religious zealots. I think that's what you're seeing right here.
But the president wants to get to peace as soon as he can, but Iran can never never ever have a nuclear weapon.
>> Totally totally agree. And I just wish the president would come out and tell us why we are there in the first place. By the way, he's going to have no choice in 6 days when the War Powers Act of 1973, the 60-day allotment of time expires.
And finally, Senator Joanie Erns, she went on Fox News and she said, and I quote, "We will continue to strangle out the IRGC."
Play that clip.
>> Now, the Iranians, you know, we know you can't trust them any further than you can throw them. But the president is intent on peace. Uh he is the president of peace and so we will maintain that pressure economically. It will have an impact. We will just continue to strangle out the IRGC which will disallow them from funding any terrorist proxies and moving on our own military and Israel. Okay. So, >> and she's not wrong. But here's something that I finished my Substack article with, and I think it's truly poignant for this. Knowing your enemy means recognizing that they are playing just as hard, just as ruthlessly, and often with a clearer sense of purpose than you are. And we are winning moments. There's no doubt about that. We are winning moments. But are we also losing the plot? We're making moves without fully grasping the board. We're reacting instead of anticipating. And in that sense, in that space, every victory carries the seed of its own defeat.
Let's see what happens next. And as always, thanks for listening. Hey everyone, first of all, thanks for watching. I mean, we're going to be posting daily episodes with reactions and talking about politics. We'll be talking about everything in fact. So please like and subscribe.
