[00:00:11]Today's suggestion comes from Mahmoud whose suggestion was the end of the world.

[00:00:22]When it comes to the end of the world I'm always surprised at how many people predict the end of the world like they know. The people who run around telling you like yep, definitely December 21st 2012 the world's going to end, you know, cuz the Mayan calendar ended so obviously the world's going to end.

[00:00:44]Yeah, there's a planet planet Nibiru is coming for us. Yeah, it's going to hit us in like a week and I'm like, do you understand astronomy?

[00:00:52]Like if it was going to hit us in a week we'd see it big in the sky by now. No, you shut up, the world's ending. But so there's always those. The last solar eclipse there was one and my thing to you is if you believe the world is ending so much that you got to annoy everybody about your theories about the world ending, why are you still at work?

[00:01:16]Why are we in the break room discussing how the world is ending next week if you really believe it? I don't think you do.

[00:01:24]If you really believed it, you'd be you wouldn't be at work.

[00:01:28]You wouldn't be at your work at Office Depot.

[00:01:34]No, you know what you would do if you really believed the world was ending, I mean honestly believed it, you'd go into your bosses office, you'd jump on the desk and you'd say, you know what Phil?

[00:01:46]I've never liked you, never have, never will and you know what? I don't care to tell you because the world will be over next week. In fact, I'm going to go ahead and just take a big old dump right on your desk. Yeah, is that a picture of your family? Let me aim and get that.

[00:02:02]Yeah, yeah, you take that. You take that. You know why? I don't care cuz the world is ending and I believe it that it will and that's why I've been telling everybody. That's what you do if you really believe it. But I know, no, you just go to work and then annoy everybody. Which I always think it would be fun the after the world doesn't end.

[00:02:24]When he goes back in the office and he's like, "So, Phil, uh Listen, I may have gotten a little out out of my britches.

[00:02:36]I may have taken off my britches and done some things to your desk and a picture of your family, but uh can I have my job back? Listen, I thought the world was ending.

[00:02:46]I really did.

[00:02:48]The other thing I always wonder about every time you see a depiction of the end of the world, there's that scene where everybody's at the grocery store buying up all the supplies.

[00:03:02]And you know who I would hate to be? Uh the cashier.

[00:03:07]Like, "Oh, uh there's the last of the flares.

[00:03:11]Oh, there's the last of the canned food.

[00:03:14]Uh oh, there's the last of the toilet paper. Are you going to be using a coupon for this? Anyway, hey boss, uh when do I get to take my break cuz I'd like to buy some stuff. You know."

[00:03:27]I don't know why you'd still be working if you knew the world was ending. Plus, everyone would just steal everything. I mean, who am I kidding? That's a that's a utopia.

[00:03:37]Yeah.

[00:03:38]My version of utopia is the world is ending and everybody isn't just looting.

[00:03:45]And they're standing patiently in line to buy stuff they're going to need to survive the apocalypse.

[00:03:52]So. So, that's a failed joke is what that is. And lastly, my thoughts about the end of the world is everybody is terrified of the end of the world. Like, if you run up to a person on the street and say, "What's your biggest fear?"

[00:04:08]Spiders. No, no, what's your second biggest fear? End of the world.

[00:04:12]And I'm always surprised that that's everyone's biggest fear because we all technically have our own end of the world coming.

[00:04:22]Like, what's the difference? End of the world or you dying?

[00:04:27]It's the same outcome for you. And yet, most people, if you're like, "How do you feel about dying?" They're like, "Yeah, yeah, I don't know." How do you feel about an asteroid killing everybody on Earth and then you die? Oh my god, I'd be so scared.

[00:04:41]How do you feel about the fact that Russia has nuclear bombs pointed at us?

[00:04:45]I don't know. I mean, I wake up in cold sweats every night. How do you feel about the fact that you eat too much cholesterol and you're probably going to die of a heart attack? Yeah, we all got to go sometime.

[00:04:56]So, I don't know what it is about the end of the world that freaks people out even though death is death either way it comes. Is it because you fear for everyone else joining you? Is it cuz you're selfish? Is that what it is? My fear for the end of the world is that I'm going to get to heaven and it's going to be packed with everybody from Earth and then I'm not going to get all the good amenities cuz it'll turn out heaven is it's pretty good, but it's still short on supply of stuff.

[00:05:28]And then that fountain, you know, of gold or whatever, there'll be too many people crowding it cuz everyone died in the end of the world. I want to die peacefully on my bed and show up in heaven by myself and enjoy the fountain of gold.
