Decarbonization Explained: Scope 1, 2 & 3 Explained! #shorts

[00:00:00]There's this term that always gets thrown around, this decarbonization term. Um, that gets thrown around specifically with what you do. Can you explain what that actually means for folks to like the normal layman? Yeah.

[00:00:11]So, essentially decarbonization is the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions um, from buildings which you know, there are three different scopes of greenhouse gas emissions. Scope one is what's directly consumed at the building. So, that examples of that are going to be like natural gas or propane.

[00:00:34]Um, you know, some some buildings still use like have coal-fired boilers. Um, and then scope two is um, what you consume off of the electricity grid as an example.

[00:00:50]Um, and then scope three is generally that has to do with more of like your supply chain.

[00:00:57]Um, what your vendors are consuming um, in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.
