Dispute at party leads to deadly shooting in Hazel Park

[00:00:00]We've been following closely this deadly shooting investigation inside this Hazel Park neighborhood. What authorities are telling us right now, a 20-year-old man from Detroit was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Meanwhile, a 19-year-old woman from Pontiac is suffering from non-life-threatening wounds and is being treated by doctors. According to Hazel Park police, they received multiple 911 calls just past 1:00 this morning.

[00:00:26]Officers responded to the area of Powell and Orchard. Upon arrival, officers saw people running from a home on Powell, and that's when they located the shooting victims. The early investigation details show someone hosted an after-prom party when a dispute happened. Next, people exchanged gunfire in and out of the home. Now, this perimeter spans about a couple of blocks. We've got a handful of officers out here, not just Hazel Park PD, but also Ferndale. We're told that detectives are waiting to obtain search warrants during their investigation.
