2 arrested after manhunt at Sandy Springs park | FOX 5 News

[00:00:09]Yeah, so we are working on a few stories. One of them I talked to you about yesterday. Remember that park in Sandy Springs, Mark Morgan Falls Overlook Park in Sandy Springs where they were searching and we didn't really know what was going on. Well, that all escalated throughout the day. There was a huge police presence over there where someone had spotted a suspicious person and then they called police after they heard gunshots in the area. A nearby polling location had to be closed temporarily and then reopened. It actually reopened and stayed open until like late at night. So it caused a big disturbance, but they did finally make an arrest is what they told us yesterday. What they're telling us today, and our Kim Leffler was back out at the park because they were over there this morning and it appeared to be that they were searching for for it through the woods again for something, maybe evidence or something.

[00:01:03]We don't really know, but they were back out there today. What they said was that after after all you know, all of the everything went on, they made an arrest and they took in someone by the name of James Andrew Dutton in the parking lot of the park and charged him with two counts of possession of a firearm in a city park and one count of possession of uh of of alcohol in a city park. Following the search, a second suspect by the name of Alicia Deaton was also taken into custody, but she was actually taken custody across the like across the river in Cobb County. So that's why you're seeing this Cobb County police cars as well because they assisted. So she was across the Chattahoochee River near Avon Road and Conway Drive and Deaton was charged with one count of possession of firearm in a city park and one count of possession of alcohol in a city park. That's what we know. We're going to try to get those mug shots for you for a little later and have an update on that story as soon as we get more information. What I do think it's interesting, if you go over to the Sandy Springs Police Department website, they actually posted a picture of the suspect standing next to a sign at the park. And he was dressed in full camo.

[00:02:16]So it was a little strange that they actually put that picture up, but it is there. We have it on our website. I don't know if I can show it to you, but it it's on our website I believe as well.
