Symbols are meaningless in themselves and only acquire meaning through the interpretations people assign to them within specific cultural and historical contexts; the same symbol can represent vastly different concepts across different traditions and time periods, such as the swastika representing peace in Tibetan Buddhism but horror in modern Western culture, or the cross representing torture in ancient Rome but sacrifice in Christianity.

What does ancient symbols really meanAjouté :
Symbols are a language that can help us understand our past.
As the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words.
But which words?
Interpret for me, please, this symbol.
First thing that comes to mind, anybody.
>> Hatred. Racism.
Yes, yes, interesting. But they would disagree with you in Spain.
There they are robes worn by priests.
Now, this symbol, anyone?
Evil.
In English, please. Devil's pitchfork.
Poor, poor Poseidon.
That is his trident, a symbol of power to millions of the ancients. Now, this symbol.
Madonna and child. Faith. Christianity.
No. No, it's the pagan god Horus and his mother Isis centuries before.
So, that was one of my favorite scenes from the movie Da Vinci Code.
And it's something that comes up on my lives quite often.
Quite often people want to make comments about the fact that I wear this hand of Hamsa and this what is this? Tree of Life.
Symbols are meaningless.
Except for the meaning that people give it at different times and within different cultures.
I had hoped that that one would have went as long as showing when they showed the swastika.
Uh the swastika, most people in today's world if you see that then you think Nazis and you know, the World War and Hitler and all these other types of things and extermination of peoples.
But to the people in Tibet, the people who practice Buddhism in China and India, it's a symbol of peace and unity.
Symbols only have meanings by which that you give them.
So, let me go ahead and hit one of the punch lines.
These two pieces of jewelry that I wear is it because I believe that this evil eye is going to give me some type of protection from the thoughts of other people?
Absolutely not.
I was in Daytona Beach, Florida.
I saw it in a one of these spiritual stores. It was in the window and I said, "Ooh, I like that.
That look good.
I'll wear it."
This one was gifted to me.
And it's a tree of life.
But is it the tree of Yggdrasil from the teachings of Odin?
Or is it the tree of life from the from the from alchemy? Is it the tree of life from the Kemetic Kemetic tradition?
Whose tree of life is it?
You see, symbols only mean what you give it and different people at different time frames have given different symbols different meanings to different symbols.
Did you know that this same thing pointed upward is a symbol for Jainism?
But this symbol in the Middle Ages was also used by Christian women to promote fertility and prevent crib death.
Mhm.
We have found them on many ancient Chris- mid- middle um medieval Christian scrolls uh metal I forgot what they called. Metal seals amulets we found this symbol that was used by Christians.
Oh, and I know what you're going to say.
They were practicing witchcraft. That's why the Pope outlawed it.
And many of you still see it as witchcraft today. But if you were living in medieval Europe and you were a woman or even a a family period you would put this over your over your child's crib.
Because at that time frame, that's what it meant.
So, what does it mean to me?
Absolutely nothing.
It's a nice piece of jewelry.
Some people can look at this ring, this one here, and say, "Oh, it's a crown.
It means kingship."
No, actually there's a certain brand of cigars that instead of putting a band on the cigar, they put these rings on the cigar.
It's a part of marketing.
It's a very expensive cigar. They range from $40 to $60.
So, they put a very expensive ring band on the cigar to give it meaning.
Oh.
What does this symbol mean?
The eagle, globe, and anchor.
It's a symbol for the Marine Corps.
It's a symbol that means that we fight on air, land, and sea. It's a symbol that represents the courage and the honor of being a United States Marine.
That's what that symbol means.
All symbols only mean things that people give it, nothing else.
So, when you come on to my lives or you go on to my videos and you like to say that, "Oh, well, I see where you're coming from. I see why you don't believe in Jesus, why you deconstructed, you went over to another religion, you went over to Islam." Because right now this is more related to Islam.
You are making a statement about me that you don't know is true or false because you don't know me.
You're making a statement based on a general consensus, not on my personal reality.
And in a hundred years, these symbols can mean something totally different to a whole new group of people.
So, it would be best if you just learn. I mean, think about most of you Christians, you're walking around with a cross on your car, around your neck, as a pendant.
And you say that that cross it represents Jesus ultimate sacrifice.
But if you were in first century Judea or better yet if you was in first century Rome or first century North Africa and somebody showed you a cross it would pretty much be an insult because what you're saying is that they deserve to die.
It was a symbol of an instrument of torture.
And that's what you would be saying to those people that they should die.
So keep wearing your instrument of death around your neck. Keep wearing it on you putting it on your car, putting you know, having pendants of it. You're telling people that you've taken the symbol that means death to try to make it the symbol life. And let me rephrase this one. The Egyptian ankh is not the Egyptian cross. It's a symbol of life.
It's the male and female joining together. But for me when I get another necklace for my ankh it's just jewelry.
That's it. It's just jewelry. So y'all have a great day and always remember you have to free yourself to be yourself because your greatness is non-negotiable. Good journey. Good vibrations.
