These countries are Montenegro, the host country of this summit. The second country is undoubtedly Serbia.

These three countries could join the EU, and I believe that their accession would not only be beneficial for them, but that they would also bring something to the European Union that it desperately needs, fresh blood and common sense.

[00:00:43]Above all, it is common sense that the EU has been lacking recently more than ever lately, but it seems to me that someone is always coming up with new ways to make the whole process more complicated, how to prevent it, and how to avoid making this decision as quickly as possible.

[00:01:00]Today, I specifically called for the opening of the so-called third cluster in Serbia's EU accession process. This cluster concerns competitiveness and inclusive growth because Serbia fulfilled the conditions for opening this cluster a long, long time ago.

[00:01:18]However, as I have already said, someone keeps putting up more and more obstacles. Therefore, I think this will remain a never-ending story even today.

[00:01:29]As far as the Slovak Republic is concerned, however, the principle remains that those who are ready should have the opportunity to join. I reject any shortcuts or exceptions. To be absolutely clear about this, there can be no shortcuts and no exceptions. No one can become a member of the European Union simply because they may currently be a favorite of the international community without fulfilling the required conditions.

[00:02:01]We spoke only about these Balkan countries, which is probably natural given that we are in the Western Balkans region.

[00:02:20]But I would like to say that at this moment I do not have enough information to say exactly what happened. Let me go back to the drone that recently crashed in Sânculeşti, Romania, where two people were slightly injured. Suddenly we hear that this drone was heading toward Ukraine and was diverted into Romanian territory by Ukrainian air defense forces.

[00:02:44]Then we hear that fighter jets escorted it over Romanian territory and that the drone eventually crashed into a residential building.
