What are we breathing in across the county due to ongoing fires?Added:
Wildfires continue to burn across Southern California on Wednesday. A smoke advisory was put out this morning for the fire burning in Campo.
Firefighters were battling the flames with warm, dry, and gusty conditions this afternoon. Westerly winds also picked up and the smoke was pushing more to the east. Due to increased containment up to 55% on Wednesday evening, the advisory has been lifted.
Ongoing wildfires across the region kept most air quality readings in the moderate range due to increased particulates in the air.
PM2.5 are fine microscopic airborne particles.
An uptick in this pollutant is usually associated with combustion from power plants and vehicles along with wood burning and wildfires.
