Staying in one's room frequently is a normal behavior that can serve multiple purposes including introversion, social fatigue, or personal recharge, and may be misunderstood by roommates or family members who interpret it as depression or lack of productivity; the key is recognizing that solitude is a legitimate need for many people and that excessive social interaction can be draining, though prolonged isolation (weeks at a time) may indicate underlying mental health issues requiring attention.

Most people that you live with think it’s weird that you stay in your room a lot.Added:
All right, what's up guys? So, most people that you live with think it's weird that you stay in your room a lot.
Well, I will say that you're like isolating yourself. You're uh um uh staying in your room because you're very depressed, you know?
And the thing is that's not always the case.
Uh like people stay in their room a lot cuz they're introverted, right? They just want to have some space from people. And it gets tiring uh socializing with people that you live with.
So, staying in your room uh um is a good way to just get some peace and quiet, you know?
I think the reason why I'm talking about this is because my roommate um um gets weirded out when I stay in my room a lot.
And I guess he's not used to like like uh having a roommate that's like that, you know?
But I guess at the same time he had a roommate that was staying in his room a lot and he was actually doing like drugs or something.
So, I guess I can understand why he's like uh very conscientious of that.
You know, and he's a good roommate, by the way. I like my roommate.
Um but like I guess some people just get weirded out when you're just trying to chill in your room. You just want to watch some TV. You want to read a book in your room. You want to uh take a nap in your room.
Uh >> [snorts] >> you just want to meditate in your room.
Um whatever it is, right?
It's just a way to get your peace and quiet.
I I parents can be like this, too. If you have parents that are just weirded out, you stay in your room and um you're just trying to relax and chill out, you know?
Um I think that could be worse because you live say you live with your parents all your life and they just kind of they get kind of weird about you staying in your room, you know?
I mean, I guess if it's like multiple days, like weeks, you know, then yeah, I guess that could be something, but there's a lot of people just um can't handle someone that wants their solitude, you know, staying in your room.
I guess a lot of times parents can um think that you're not being productive because you're staying in your room, you're chilling there, you know?
When say you are doing stuff productive around the house, you did the chores, you um say you did go out and help like your dad or mom or something.
I guess like like the parents that you have may expect too much of you and they don't respect your uh alone time in your room, you know? And they they can be annoying and I guess it could be like harassment, you know?
But I guess there is parents out there that that know their kids in a way and they know that it's a way for them to charge and I guess maybe these type of parents are probably the same way as well, you know? But there is a lot of parents out there that uh get weirded out when their kids stay in the room.
I guess that's what kind of sucks about living with a roommate, you know?
Um especially when you first move in with some random roommate, you uh you're trying to get adjusted into like a living situation and they they uh There's like different personalities in the room.
Not in the room, in the place that you live at.
And some people um are trying to get to know you and and I guess it's I guess it's just like a phase or something like that.
Right?
I guess another reason people stay in the room a lot, especially like towards family gatherings, I know when I was um when my dad would invite like people over, like family, for like holidays or something.
And especially I lived with my grandparents, they would mostly come regardless to see them. I would always stay in my room cuz I don't really like to socialize with them.
And I guess like my personal reason, I just don't get I don't really like get along like too much with them.
Like some of them and stuff. So, I would like to stay in my room and then if I had to come out, I would just kind of just talk to them here and there, you know?
But like too much socializing can do that, you know?
It just makes you want to stay in your room.
And just I guess it's just weird when people get like that.
They don't understand, I guess.
Like being in the room is just a way to get some peace.
I got I guess I guess especially me, I'm kind of I was always like that, too. I always like to stay in my room and I would stay in there for hours and then I'd then I would go out and talk to people, you know? But I usually like to stay in my room cuz I'm introverted in a way too and they just get tired of talking to people, you know.
Um But yeah, but there is times where I would stay in my room, I would be very depressed. I couldn't get out of bed.
Especially last year, I was in my room a lot.
Couldn't even get out of bed physically and I was uh you know.
It was It was uh I was going through something last year.
So, it could be that too if someone's there for multiple days, but you know.
Um some people just can't handle that.
And they're they're fine, you know.
They're not not depressed or anything.
So, that's it though.
