This vlog successfully moves beyond the superficial "slow living" trend by highlighting medical advocacy as the most essential form of self-care. It is a necessary reminder that true wellness requires proactive health literacy rather than just aesthetic home organization.

Prioritizing Me | Women’s Health, Home Reset & Slow Days追加:
[music] [music] Hey.
[music] >> [music] >> Good morning, y'all. I have some company with me. I have baby girl in the back. I am literally dropping her off right now at school. I have a 9:00 appointment at my gynecologist, so I'm rushing there, but you know, we got to take the princess to school. So, let's get her dropped off really quickly. Have a good day, baby.
>> Good morning, >> Morning.
>> My mom was doing a video.
>> She's doing a video. [laughter] >> Have a good day, baby. I love you. and be safe. Okay.
>> Thank you.
>> Have a great day.
>> You too. Thank you.
>> Babe, your daughter got at school. She was like, "My mom is doing a video."
Jesus.
>> Listen, we can't manage our care. Oh, yeah. Try to be discreet. Ted is like, "Uhuh. That not happen at any point in time." not in a PR cabinet. [laughter] Travis said, "No, no, no." She was like, "Uh, my mom is doing a video."
>> Oh my god. But anyways, y'all. So, yeah.
So, I'm rushing to my Gyno appointment right now. Um, I'm going to do a papsmear. Woman's health is very important. Let me know if you want me to do a video on that. like you know over a woman's health. My friends were telling me to actually do one and I'm contemplating but let me know um if y'all been following my journey for a while you know I've had a little complication well complications but with God all things are possible if you've been following my journey tenil is literally a miracle so I don't play I don't play when it comes on to my down there. So yes, so baby girl is a literal walking miracle, you know, after the doctor said no. Long story short, I've been trying for years for her. As you know, my kids, they are 10 years apart, 9 years apart. So I've been trying for her for a long time and she was just not coming, complications. And we did all the work up. I did two surgeries. I did one to remove fibroids. I did a myomectomy laparoscopic myomectomy. And then once we were ready to conceive, the scars had uh scar tissues. So we had to go back in, take the scar tissues off, and then we started trying again.
Nothing was happening. And then I gave up. I'm like, you know what? This is not happening. And thank God for my mother and my husband. Um, you know, my mom would be like, "Don't give up, Tiana.
You know, it's not their will, it's God's will." And we started our IVF journey. And when I mean started, we were like in the process. The last thing left to do was to do the insemination.
They did all the collections of the specimen, everything. We did our workup, blood test, everything. Chris and I, every single thing. And the morning I was supposed to go in um for my IVF for the to put the sperms in, to make the sperms, whatever, the egg. Um, I just didn't feel well, you know, and I said to my husband that I just want Chinese food and I want the dirtiest Chinese food ever in New York. And anyways, he got me some Chinese food. It wasn't as dirty as what I wanted, but it was good.
And um, my mom Friday morning, my mom said she was going to have a piece of KFC. Now, my mom doesn't really eat like that, but for some reason when she said that, I got so mad and I was mad at her for even buying the KFC. like I could smell it through the phone and I was like, "Okay, something is up. Something is wrong." H just casually said, "I'm going to take a pregnancy test." My husband went and got one and God is so good. Lo and behold, I was pregnant with Miss Tal. That was such a surprise because remember now I said I'm going in for my IVF and all of that. So even when I called my doctors, they were stunned. They were stunned. So yeah. So, long story short, I like to check up on myself. Um, I took out a few fibroids. I still have a few, but because I changed my diet and my everything, they are not growing, which is good. And I check them ever so often.
So, now I'm going for a popsmear. I hate doing pop smear. I think I haven't done one since I've had tenn which about four years now. I hate it. I just just the thought of it. I'm I'm Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Whatever. So, let's go get this pops done and get it out of the way because I need to go back home to go on my walk before the rain starts. So, let's go.
[music] [music] >> [music] [music] [music] >> All right, let me go check over the handicap spot really quick [music] and see if anything over there, which I highly doubt. A prime time, you know.
This is not even one park.
Oh my god.
Jesus help me.
[music] Not even Oh, >> everybody park for chap only.
Wow. It's okay. me park far all the better because sometime [music] >> well park wait >> no me get steps that's fine so I'm parking Chris vehicle over here so >> all right so I'm here um let me get some water to drink cuz just a thought it is now 9:50 7 8:57. So, let's go.
So, I parked really far. You can see my pick all the way down there at the end because sometime you come to these places and they you go back and you see some scratches and I don't want any of that right now. I just don't have the mind frame for that. No capacity for Yeah. So, let's run to this appointment.
I'm actually just wearing a casual top.
I think I got this top in Burlington and a black joggers from Old Navy and this color Crocs.
Had on my sneakers and I was like, "Uh-uh." Cuz they know I'm going to have to take it off, take off my pants, take off my underwear, and do the whole shebang. So, easy does it right now.
Morning.
Gyno is level two. Gyno >> three.
>> Three. Thank you.
You're my crocs, man. Jesus. It's embarrassing.
>> I got my way dirty or something.
>> Have a good day, man.
>> You too. Thank you.
>> Be careful your smile.
Are you coming in?
[laughter] >> Are you going up?
>> Hi, morning. How are you? What's the first name? Tiana.
It's going to be a full exam. Boobs, everything. I'm finished with my appointment. It wasn't so bad. It is actually 9:49. So, 49 minutes. That was not bad at all. Everything went pretty easy. And I did add on um blood work just to do um STD screening and everything. like once I'm doing my annual, I like to get everything done.
It eases the mind, you know. But um let's just talk to the females really quickly.
I know some of y'all hate going to the doctor, but I'm telling you, go. It's better to be aware of what's happening than you are completely clueless. So go to the doctor. You cannot go wrong. I grew up and saw my mom going to the doctor like she doesn't miss a beat. And that's exactly how she, you know, taught us. Um, my brother, he hates going to the doctor. But as for me, I will be here every day if I need to. Hopefully, by the grace of God, that's not the case. But I want to know exactly what's [clears throat] happening in my body, in my kids' body, and my husband's body as well, and my parents. So just did an animal. So long story short, so when I moved here, I um didn't have any guy. I saw a male guy know and I wasn't feeling him. I just don't think um a lot of and I don't want to sound biased, but I don't think a lot of doctors understand black woman health. Does that make sense?
We are very we come with a lot. We come black women. We come with a lot. So I I did I went once and I'm like ah no. And then um because I'm with the VA, the VA just started giving us gyno. Um they scheduled me with a gyno. She was like why did you come to an appointment? I'm like because my gyno, which I love, my gyno in uh Washington, which I love, said make sure I check on my fibroids every year or two times a year if possible. She was uh but I don't see the need again Caucasian woman and I wasn't feeling her. So I sent a long email. I am one of those patients that do not play when it comes on to my health. Sent my doctor and I attached to who needs to be attached and I told her exactly how I felt during the um the appointment. It wasted my time, wasted her time and I'm not getting the care that I need. So they sent me outpatient again which I love. I love getting community um care from the VA because I think the doctors are more, you know, in tune with what's happening and I saw a nice doctor last year, Dr. Price, and then she retired. I saw her once and then she retired. So, I was like, "Okay, here we go again." So, by doing my research, research, research, I'm in a lot of mom's group, female group here close to where I'm at.
And even though I don't talk a lot, I find information there. And um they actually recommended this doctor that I'm seeing now, Dr. Boseman, and I love her so far. Um she's very detailed. So just now I did a breast exam. I'm just 36 years old. So I um they recommend mamogram at age 40, but she just did one, you know, not mamogram. She just did a breast exam. She showed me exactly what to do. She said the best time to check is after your period. So perfect timing. um tmi. But yeah, so she just did that. You know, she said, "Make sure when you're feeding, you're feeding as if it's a M&M or a marble that's in your boobs." This is me telling you what she said. So, females, please do your exam.
Check your boobs because you never know.
Any rash that's not going away, any puss from the breast, anything green, anything red that's coming from the nipples, go get checked out. So, we did that. Then, she um examined my tummy area. I have fibroids, but they're not growing as I said earlier. And then she did the papsmear. Um, she went in for the papsmear and she did that. She did her swab and all of that. And then I did the blood work for the STD screening.
So, yeah, that's it. Pretty quick, pretty easy. It is now 9:53. Today is a long day for me. I'm going to go home, grab some breakfast, see what my mom is doing, and then we probably go on a walk, and then I probably come back and edit some videos, and then um I haven't posted any short form content because I'm just switching some things around.
Um but yeah, I need to figure out what I'm going to post there cuz I don't have anything on my schedule, which is bad.
Uh yeah, and then um grab Ten from school and then I am getting Tasa from school tonight at 8:30. So, she has a long day. I'm just feeling so bad for her cuz this week is milestones week and then she has a long night tonight until 8:30. So I have to go get her at 8:30.
The good thing I don't have Pilates today which is good so I can just relax a little bit with Tal. Um get this video out on my other channel. If you're not following me on my home decor channel, please go ahead and subscribe to that channel. It's the Rose House. That's where you see everything in my house basically. So yeah, but let's go home right now. I'm going to call my husband, let him know how everything went because he's like that. He needs to know how everything is.
And yeah, babe.
Hello.
>> No, not hear you.
[clears throat] Yeah, me finish.
How >> How was it?
>> It was good. It was easy. Pretty simple.
What time? It's like 9:55 and I'm It was good. She did a breast exam and um everything test down there and then she did a popsmear and then I went there to study.
I am back home. I took a shower. I'm about to quickly freshen up my bathroom because I'm starting the vacuum to come here.
Come on.
I'm about to go do my walk. Um, I normally walk in the evenings, but because I have to get baby girl at school from at 8:30, I am doing it now.
I am putting on my sunscreen and I am using the Anoa. Um, this is the invisible matte. I love it because it doesn't get the skin oily. It just sits and I love that.
just had breakfast and started doing some editing.
So, I need to come back home and finish doing that. But yeah, I'll have this linked um for you all on my shop my but I love love love this one.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Good morning, y'all. Happy Thursday. So, my mom and I have been enjoying our kale salad, but it's with steamed kale. So, she started preparing it, and I'm like, "Okay, can you at least show my viewers how you prepare this beautiful thing?"
because I've been getting questions on like how to do certain dishes. This is pretty new to me. I am not good on steamed veggies. My mom is the best. I try to do it and it's just >> sauté >> sauté. I I listen, I'm just not good at it. It's not pretty like hers. You not taste good like fear. It's just not it.
So, I I have to give this one to her.
So, she's going to teach you all how to do her kale salad. So, in a bowl, she has her kale that she chopped and she actually makes love to these veggies.
She ensures that she takes out the um stock from the kale. You know, the kale comes with this, so she cuts it out. No, for me, I don't know if I would, but I'm learning just like you all. And then she's adding some uh carrots and um we cook with garlic. We put garlic in everything. And I see her with some >> clean >> escalion. Yes, my uncle clean. Yes, my uncle clean. And um also some um peppers, bell peppers, and thyme. So >> use onion.
>> And onions. So let's watch what she's doing.
Yeah, it was it was really good the other day. So this is what your second time making it, right? Mommy, it's the first time making cooked kale. Cooking kale.
>> Always like blend it or just do a raw >> something. But what I do know is if you're going to eat the kale just as what I learned is to put a lot of olive oil and massage it. Like you have to massage your kale for it to be juicy.
We've been to restaurants and had kale, but I've never done it at home.
So I like how mommy do it, so she's doing it again.
So we have all our seasonings in this bowl. So, a skeleion, onion, garlic, carrots, and bell peppers.
And when I tell you my mother is the best when it comes on to steaming, well, anything with cooking but veggies. Yeah.
See, nobody beat her yet. Fresh. And you can warm up her veggies.
Cook it over.
No good.
Can [laughter] encourage you for your arm.
Another one.
[music] So, she got her pot ready and she added some olive oil and she's going in with coconut a little bit >> butter coconut oil.
Okay, that's um Okay.
Can you show us the amount? Okay.
have to wait until you just put in it so you can get water.
Yeah. And the flavor with fragrance.
>> Yeah. They say you get fragrance.
>> It can be flavor. Forever mom. It can be fragrant.
Get upgraded a while ago. Stir me feel.
You want me put on the camera quick?
>> No, you don't need to. It it make it just stay there >> because when my mother is in the kitchen, you don't come in here. That's a rule. Don't ask, "Oh, me learn to cook." When she not the kitchen, don't come in there.
Cover 5 minutes.
>> Okay. And the stove is on high, but make sure you watch your stove because everybody's stove is different.
All right. So, she's adding um bullion.
We're two. Oh, she adding two. What type of bullion?
>> Veggie.
>> Veggie bullions. Bullion.
And then I'm going to put my kale in.
>> Isn't the fire too high?
>> No. Okay.
It was going to turn it on.
How long do you cook this for? Another 5 minutes. I'm going to mix it all.
So, another 5 minutes. She's going to um mix it up.
>> Make sure it the the colors she's getting the colors that she wants. Ooh, that's so pretty.
And my mommy never overcook veggies. As I tell you guys, always firm. You can warm it up, recook it, crunchy.
And I don't know, mine just >> and cover it a little bit, you know.
>> Yeah. And you can see how the kale is being coated by the oil and the heat too. You can see the color changing and you know vegetable wicked you put in a lot and then just go right down it was more.
>> Yeah, it go right down was more.
So next time we get two heads, two or two, this look a lot.
Turn off the stove and make the heat finish it.
>> Okay.
>> Cuz you have to watch, you don't want it too saggy, you know.
Mommy come with one of vegetable [laughter] watch something. [laughter] Oh my lord vegetable fried me kale. All right.
Don't turn off the stove. Make the heat finish.
>> Okay. And that's it. And that's it. All done. So pretty.
Finish. Done.
>> [music] >> All right. So, mommy's making a wrap for her to eat her veggies with. I guess it's oats, um, chia seed.
And >> that's it. A pinch of salt.
>> A pinch of salt and water.
>> But I don't want the water. Try the milk.
>> She's going to do it with milk. So, let's see. This is a first. So, let's see.
You always like trying new things, you know.
So use not even all of that. Think that's enough.
The milk kind of have a little taste to it. So >> you going to need more milk than that cuz the oats thick.
>> All right. What?
>> Has to be [music] >> [music] [music] >> My >> [snorts] [clears throat] >> Yummy.
So you say salt >> finger go like get nothing at all to eat.
>> [music] >> I know >> inside red seat belt and go to the not flow.
It is all right.
>> I took a bomb back.
[music] [music] >> [music] >> Heat. Heat.
[music] >> [music] [music] >> So, this is our first time eating sardine. I've never had it. You're about to try it?
>> Well, I'm about to try it. Well, no, actually, I'm buying one cuz this is for Tanal.
>> Wait, that's for >> I've never had it. My mom has never given it to me. I've never cooked it.
Never. I've just been around someone that had it and the smell was very off.
So, I'm buying one cuz it's very good. But, I'm going to give it to Tal. Hopefully we can bear the scent. And hopefully I like it when we can't start eat sardine with me egg.
>> Mommy, why you never give sardine growing up? Cuz eat it. So I mean we never like the smell cuz they talk about know.
>> So yeah. So we're going to try it. I'll let you guys know. Send me send me sardine recipes. [laughter] >> [music] [music] >> This is too smooth. I honestly didn't even really want to say anything on this, but that's what the [music] people want.
That's what I came here for.
So, we going to get into it.
>> [music] >> I like my coffee.
>> Girl, don't mess up my design or else you're going to have to make it over.
>> You're going to want to feel cool.
[music] >> I'm the voice of your prototype and why >> [music] >> Oh my god.
>> You wiping your mouth?
My bigger mania come more.
>> There's more on the stick.
>> Come up. Yeah. Come up more.
>> Oh, we have to go up there.
>> Yeah.
>> Me and Chris food. Oh, no. Fried chicken.
make them change it.
My mistake want me.
[music] >> So guys, good morning. Happy Saturday.
Um, well, Tenny and I were upstairs for a good a good couple minutes here. We're setting up the surprise for mommy and daddy. Well, daddy's downstairs, but >> babe and daddy >> and daddy. So, daddy must come, too.
>> Daddy, >> but I want to show mommy first cuz she has to go to the supermarket real quick.
So, when she comes back, we're going to do it all together as a family >> cuz we we don't really do family stuff besides go out. She wants to do something homey >> and aesthetic.
>> I'm feeling baby. You said I should close my eyes.
>> You have to help her walk to Don't run into the table.
>> That's what I was about to ask. Okay.
>> All right. Open your eyes now.
>> Open your eyes.
>> Open your eyes.
Move, Tal, move.
>> That's none of your business. [laughter] >> You got it, actually. Put it down, Talo.
Put it down. Put it down, baby girl.
>> I say you're right.
>> You got it for us. You didn't buy it.
>> Yeah.

>> At the table. No phone at the table.
