Douglas Macgregor Drops STUNNING Iran Prediction: "Trump Will Resume the War!"

[00:00:09]And I see no evidence that the Iranians are going to do anything remotely along the lines of what President Trump expects or would like. Full steam ahead and the American people aren't with it.

[00:00:21]>> The Iran war will be resumed by Donald Trump. That's what Douglas McGregor is saying here. And perhaps even more stunning, he predicts the second phase of this war once restarted will be longer than the first phase. We're already 80 days in. So that means another two and a half plus months of warfare. What are the dynamics causing him to believe that? He breaks it down here and explains why Trump, even while using rhetoric that he's trying to get away from this thing, is more likely to escalate it than get away from it. Let's check it out. [00:00:57]>> Colonel Douglas McGregor has been watching this very very closely and the moves over the past um few hours and Colonel we just hear you know Middle East partners I guess also just within the last hour or so asking President Trump like please stop this madness. Uh, I assume that Iran would then begin to target and hit the UAE and other energy infrastructure, desalin, desalinization operations inside of the UAE, Bahrain, God knows what else. Is that the pressure being applied to President Trump right now?

[00:01:29]>> You know, that presumes that he feels pressure and I'm not sure he does. And whenever he's been questioned about the economic implications, the financial crisis and so forth, he waves it off as though no, this this doesn't matter. And whatever pain the American people are suffering, it'll be short term. I think we've heard that sort of thing before.

[00:01:51]It didn't turn out to be that way. But nevertheless, that's his position. So I think right now if you look objectively at all the indications or indicators of military action, what we've got out there in terms of air and naval power and even now substantial light forces, light ground forces, I would say that uh the renewed war is a certainty. I would expect it to happen anytime.

[00:02:20]>> A certainty. I mean what he's saying now within the last hour is it was going to be tomorrow. Gulf leaders have asked me to hold off because talks are positive.

[00:02:30]But again he's reiterating no nuclear weapons or nuclear of any kind for Iran.

[00:02:38]But was going to be tomorrow. We're just going to push that off. But it's clear I mean it's clear something is coming, right?

[00:02:46]>> Yeah. I mean, it seems like he's done that same thing something like eight or nine times where he says that renewed strikes are coming and yet they haven't come. But you still have a deadlock here. You have an impass because the United States is demanding the reopening of the straight of Hormuz, which Iran is not going to grant. And now Iran and Oman are in possession of it, will charge tolls for it. And they won't stop enriching uranium for their nuclear energy program. If Trump wants them not to have a nuclear weapon, well, good luck. They don't have one. They didn't have one and they never had one. It's never been about that. So, he always moves goalpost to try to sell some sort of stunning success. We've taken out their navy. They don't really rely on a navy. We have air superiority. Well, that isn't really the thorn in the side of the US right now. It's the ballistic missile capabilities that have damaged the bases and very cheap drones that have frankly outmanned the United States in terms of its weaponry and its armaments when you're sending $5 million Patriot interceptors against $20,000 drones. That is the impass here. So Trump knows that he can't sell this as a success if he backs away with everything worse than the status quo. And Iran isn't budging. They're not willing to negotiate. So you have some of this rhetoric about conversations and negotiations, but it's just ultimatums.

[00:04:12]There's no budging on the Iranian perspective and there's no budging on the US perspective. So I tend to agree with McGregor. A renewal of strikes is coming.

[00:04:21]>> I I think we're going to go back into the same war we were in before. I think he's going to go in probably with more force than uh than he did previously.

[00:04:31]I'm sure that's what the general officers are promising him and the admirals are telling him and uh you know what was the definition of insanity that Einstein used to offer >> doing the same thing and expecting different results.

[00:04:44]>> Yeah. And I think that's where we are now. The other thing that nobody's considering is the possibility that Iran whose forces are now resupplied, replenished, and so forth may reveal some new capabilities we haven't encountered yet. Uh that's a possibility. We we don't exactly know with great precision everything that the Russians and the Chinese have provided to them and we do admit privately that we grossly underestimated uh the engineering skills of the Iranians. So this this could turn out to be a lot worse on both sides than it was the last time. I I think that's very much a certainty.

[00:05:25]And I'm just curious about the Middle East partnership of all of this and on the United States side, but all more specifically on the attacks that would come from Iran. The idea that Iran would frankly devastate the the UAE really wipe Dubai off the map for all intents and purposes, hitting again energy infrastructure, desalinization, like the list is pretty extensive what they would hit, rendering that country basically useless. Um, does President Trump seem to care about that?

[00:05:57]>> Well, as I said before, I I think that's a tertiary concern as far as he's uh concerned. And I think in private uh the leadership of the UAE is probably cheering him on despite what you just described as a likely outcome. Let me explain that. I think people need to understand that the UAE is very much a Trojan horse for Israeli and American power. and influence and it has been a thorn in the side of Iran for a very long time. If you're an Iranian, you very much welcome the opportunity to annihilate this uh platform for the projection of of power against you. So, the UAE will definitely be struck and most of it will be flattened or destroyed. Now, I don't know where all the money goes. It's probably sitting in New York City, uh London, other places.

[00:06:50]But you're right, the majority of the population, I think we had at the beginning of the war, an estimated 67 million people living from Iraq's border on the west coast of the Persian Gulf all the way down to Oman. I don't think there there is half of that left at this point. And I think more will leave.

[00:07:09]They'll they'll bundle up in their automobiles or SUVs. They'll drive across the desert uh to Riad. and from Riyad you can get a an aircraft flight to various places.

[00:07:21]>> So I think that's inevitable and I I just don't I think President Trump has really played the media for suckers. How many times has he manipulated the stock market and investors and most investors really believe that one of two things is going to happen. either Trump tacos, as they like to say, chickens out, leaves, or t or Trump doubles down and crushes Iran. I mean, when you talk to people, they say, "Oh, well, the Marines uh and the Navy, they they'll seize the straight. They'll march in. They'll take all this over. This won't last much longer." They have no idea what the topography is like. They don't understand what they're dealing with.

[00:08:03]They don't understand the climate, the conditions. They absolutely have no idea what kind of capabilities we're up against.

[00:08:11]>> Yeah, I think that's right. A lot of people are banking on a withdrawal. Even some investment models are based on that premise that the base case is that the straight of horror moves will be open in like a week, but there's nothing really telling us that. And when Trump is questioned by the corporate media about very basic questions regarding this war, he says stuff like, "I'm not concerned about the financial condition of Americans." He just said that a few days ago. I have a war to pay attention to.

[00:08:39]What he's really signaling is your priorities mean nothing. Netanyahu's priorities mean everything. The Israel lobby is what matters. Not you. Not the amount of money you're paying at the gas pump every single day. Not the plight of the average American, but the plight of the well-connected lobbyists in the Israel lobby. And look, the pressure on Trump is intense from the Israel lobby right now. That's not to take away any culpability from him for launching this war, getting us into this disaster, but it's even greater than it would be by default now because you have the threat of the constant closure of the Strait of Hormuz every time Israel or the United States wants to attack and launch another phase of this stupid idiotic corrupt regime change operation that they can hang that over the heads of the United States. the Iranians can saying, "Hey, we'll spark another global energy crisis through this closure." They didn't have control of the straight before the war, but now they do as a direct result of the war launched by Trump and Israel in duplicity in the middle of negotiations. Basically, the most dishonorable thing you can possibly do. And by negotiations, I should just say ultimatums issued as poison pills to make sure there isn't any negotiated settlement with Iran. You have Netanyahu consummating his life's ambitions. And he admitted that I think a day after this war began. He had told reporters that this is the coming to fruition of my political aspirations, my career political aspirations. You can find that clip out there. So that's what we're dealing with. That's why it seems very plausible that there will be an escalation even though Trump today admitted that for now discussions are ongoing. I think McGregor is properly seeing the writing on the wall here because the United States isn't budging, Iran isn't budging, and they both are so widely divergent on the aims that both have to finalize this thing. Now, let's get back into the conversation, particularly in air and missile defense. So, at this stage, I'd say yes, we're going to see the war restart. [00:12:17]>> Well, if you're an Israeli right now, your view is for the moment you have control of the United States armed forces and its government. You, you know, this is a unique point in the history of the Israeli state. They have for many decades tried very hard to gain control in terms of voting power on the hill, enough people to guarantee the flow of aid and support to Israel. Well, you know, that that was relatively unchallenging.

[00:12:47]But what they know now is that this war has had a distinctly negative impact on public opinion in the United States regarding Israel. Now, public opinion hasn't mattered a great deal. Uh, you know, we've gone to war before whether or not the American people were consulted or wanted it. And this is a perfect example of doing that yet again.

[00:13:08]This time, Congress didn't even receive a note in the mail. It was Congress stood up and gave the obligatory standing ovation when the State of the Union was given and Israel and Iran were mentioned. So, you know, at this point, everybody's on board. This is uh Tucker Carlson's ship of fool ship of fools full steam ahead and the American people aren't with it but it doesn't matter.

[00:13:36]>> Yeah, that says it all, doesn't it? That the American people don't want this war, but it doesn't matter. Well, what does that say? It confers a very striking truth, a truism that we all note about this war and about our government, frankly, is that there's an incredible disconnect between the desires of the American populace and the American taxpayers and the American electorate on one side and the ruling regime on the other where it doesn't exactly matter all the time what the vast majority of Americans want. by something like 75% 70% some of these polls don't want this war but you're going to get this war anyways and you're going to have to smile and nod and like it according to the Trump administration the lacudnix and the neocons cheering this on it shows that there is a disconnect between the desires of the people who are governed and the governors it's a sadistic trap that we're put in every few years to elect someone on the basis that this person will be so much better than that other person. But no matter who you elect, you always seem to get John McCain and some manifestation of the war regime and the US empire building schemes regardless of the flavor that you get in terms of Biden.

[00:14:55]You got the Ukraine proxy war against Russia. You got strikes against Iran.

[00:15:01]You got bombing of Yemen under Trump.

[00:15:03]You have bombing of Yemen, bombing of Somalia. You have an Israel first war in Iran. a kidnapping operation in Venezuela. You have threats to do a regime change in Cuba. At the same time, the starvation blockade continuing in Yemen. You always get empire building when you live in the empire. It really should shatter all illusions that people have that say that the government, the federal government, both houses of Congress, they're representative of your interests. They're the manifestation put into democratic force of your thoughts, your ambitions, your desires when they're really not. They're really the manifestation of the desires of the lobbyist class of the JP Morgans, Rathons, Loheed Martins, and Benjamin Netanyahus of the world. So yeah, if you follow the money, you'll seek the truth.

[00:15:56]And the money shows that the Israel lobby is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Trump in this thing because they fear if he walks away from this now, public opinion is turning against Israel. They see the same polls we do that show that and indeed it's true, especially on demographic lines with especially older people in line with Israel, but younger people are peeling off in spades. There's a 50point swing when it comes to empathy toward the Palestinians during the course of Israel's genocide in Gaza and the war in Iran. The American populace is now overall pro-Palestinian. That's what a few polls have showed, including one Pew Research poll. So, their door is closing. They see this time constraint and that's causing a panic mode that really the Israel lobby has never had that if we can't get this coup d'etra regime change the consummation and the finalization of the clean break strategy the seventh country of seven that were noted to be Israel's rivals and the neocons wanted overthrown on behalf of Israel way back in even the '9s if they don't get that under Trump I think they know in some level they probably will never get that just because the the billionaire Zionist donor class will still remain, but their political capital will still shrink and shrink and shrink because the American populace is just overpowering it. And again, it doesn't always matter because they carry forth a different agenda than the American populace wants. But at some point, it's just going to be too glaring, too difficult to bring these wars into fruition for the sake of this foreign country, which is evil and an albatross around the neck of the United States. And so are our complicit politicians for funding them to launch their genocides, wars, give them foreign aid while American struggle often because of that attachment to Israel as the closure of the straight of Hormuz is showing every single American right now.

[00:17:51]So good assessment of the situation of McGregor. I tend to agree with him. I would love there to be, you know, an escape hatch taken. Trump just tries to sell this as a victory. we've accomplished all our aims and gets out of there even without reopening the straight, even without, you know, securing a a agreement that has Iran giving up their ballistic missiles and nuclear enrichment. It's just it's not going to happen. But I hope that does happen. I hope he does sell it as that.

[00:18:17]We'll laugh at that. Us truth tellers will say, "No, this is nothing but a smashing defeat for the United States and a brutal reminder that we don't live in a unipolar world anymore." But it would be the best thing for the United States. And frankly, we should withdraw all our forces from the Middle East.

[00:18:33]Shut down all those bases that are there that bleed us dry financially that cause the deaths of service members, destruction of military bases there, all for this stupid, toxic, parasitic country thousands of miles away that prays on our political class and robs us of our sovereignty. That's what I'd like us to see. But I think my intuition is as McGregor's I think it's more likely there will be an escalation because the gulf between the desires of Iran and the gulf between the desires of the United States are too far away. And then you have Israel a third party in that that will constantly work to undermine any negotiation even if the United States partially gets what it wants and seems to be willing to walk away.
