Number four is the one that'll make you genuinely angry. But let's start with number 10.
Number 10, [music] understand what you're actually fighting. Rust isn't a stain, it's a chemical reaction. Iron in your steel reacting with oxygen and moisture to form iron oxide. It's an oil-based coating that stays permanently flexible and self-healing. [music] Water beads up and runs out rather than pooling against bare metal. A can with a long flexible aerosol extension tube [music] costs about 12 to $15. Insert the wand into each drain hole along the bottom edge of the sill. Spray as you pull it out. The wax creeps through [music] the internal cavity and coats surfaces you could never reach with a brush or a spray can.
[music] It does the work on its own. A sill section replacement. What happens when internal rust goes [music] unchecked long enough? Starts at $800 in labor before you have bought any metal.

This is the one that will make you genuinely angry [music] because almost every serious rust repair you have ever paid for was avoidable. Not technically difficult to avoid. Not expensive to avoid. Just requires [music] someone walking around the car once a month and actually looking at the sills. Once a month at door sill height, you are looking for pinhead paint bubbles, hairline cracks at seems, or slight discoloration at the lower door edge. These are the signals that arrive before the visible rust breaks through.
At this stage, the $2 gel and $12 primer fix it permanently in 45 minutes for under $20 total.
