Election Integrity Lawsuits What You Need to Know Today本站添加:
Join Bob Fioretti and Dave Shestokas as they discuss critical election lawsuits in Illinois, including Judicial Watch's case on voter information access, and Congressman Boss' challenge to extended mail-in ballot counting.
They have a case currently where they're representing Illinois Family Action relative to access to voter information.
And the state of Illinois has taken the position that they do not have to collect voter information in a centralized location. That all the local county clerks are in charge of doing that. But strangely enough, there's something called the 1993 National Voter Registration Act that requires the state to do that. So, Raoul has taken a position that says, "We don't have to obey federal law." Okay? All right. And didn't they bring the Boss case up to the Supreme Court? Congressman Boss also has filed a case contesting whether or not the they can continue counting mail-in ballots that arrive up to 2 weeks after election day. Raoul took Congressman to the Supreme Court and said, "You don't have the right to do that.
You know, we have the right to set any election stuff we want." And the United States Supreme Court has said that Congressman Boss does in fact have the right to challenge these things in advance of the election. There's an 1855 United States law that sets election day as the first Tuesday after the first November Monday in November. And counting votes for 14 days after that is kind of in violation of federal law. And so, now they've sent it back and now they're litigating that. And then there's another case where the Department of Justice has asked for state of Illinois to comply with the National Voter Registration Act. And the again, they've told Raoul Raoul in fact has told the Department of Justice United States that they don't have to comply with election law.
