Oh, that really doesn't look good.
Right, muckers. Well, before we start today's video, um just a quick update on the Ford 7810 video that I mentioned I was doing in the last video. Well, I just thought I was going to take, you know, a couple of weeks, film it, and put it up on the channel. However, since mentioning it on the last video, um I've had loads of people reach out to me.
people such as the guys down at Basdon um with the old Ford New Holland plant which now CNH they've said mucka we've got guys down here that worked on the production line and and and actually helped design the Ford uh 7810 as we know it. um you know if you want to talk to them and I'm like I would love to you know uh also um Steven Richmond and Jonathan Whittam who do tractor um productions you know who do the lovely books on the histories of fords and whatever you've seen them are just fantastic and um Steven said we can help you know we've got old brochers from before the days of Ford having the 7810 when South Essex Motors don't forget Yeah, that's where they were designed originally. Um, we've got some um leaflets and stuff like that that we can we can show you and that and I'm thinking this is fantastic. And there you are. To be honest, if we're going to do this, we might as well do it right, you know, with offers like that. So, um, it'll take a little bit longer, but it'll, you know, the video will be out in the near future. But in the meantime, here's what I've been up to. Like I said, it's been nearly a year, about 11 months since I've been over here at the farm uh in in Wales, in South Wales. Um, and although obviously I've been in touch with everybody over here and they've been carrying on daytoday, there's only so much you can do by by phone, you need to be here and and actually seeing what's going on and plan for the year ahead. And that's why I'm here. and I made the journey across sort of 6 hours uh from one side of the country to the other um yesterday. I got have a wander around first, find my feet, see what's been going on, what needs doing, and I'll take you along.
Right. Well, poor Capelco has sat here again for nearly a year. Poor little state of the poor girl.
>> Oh, would you look at that. I need to cover the exhaust up though. Um, but that's no excuse. So, I'm going to try and get her fired up and then I'm going to pressure wash her down if she fires up. All right. So, I've always told you this and there's a reason. This is a very good example of a reason why I tell you before you start anything, even because I was running right yesterday, always check your coolant, your oil, anything else that you can see visually.
Why is that? Well, obviously this one has sat here, as I said, for 11 months. And now, despite me bagging the exhaust, despite me sticking a tub, a pile over the exhaust up here, and I'm now wondering where else it could have got in because I go to check the oil and it is. It's right up that tube.
Look.
is right up the tube. So, first thoughts, water's got in somewhere.
Um, despite all covering all this up, water has got in somewhere and that's now pushed the oil up cuz obviously oil floats on water. So, water will be at the bottom of the sump. Hopefully, the basically what's happened is the oil has now covered all the crank and all the, you know, the bottoms of the conrods and whatever. So that's not a bad thing.
However, I think we got water in the sump.
Oh dear joys. And now it's starting to hail. Typical.
Oh, that's coming down now.
I need a bright sunshine this morning.
Now, here's where things didn't go as planned.
So, in order to get the belly plate off the Cabelco, you have to get in between the tracks. You go under the counter, weight at the back, and sort of work your way in. And normally all I do is sort of squat down and sort of just squiggle forward like that. You know, keep them low. There we go. Well, with everything that's gone on in, you know, recent months, I don't have the strength in my legs currently that I used to have. And I soon found that out because I sort of went down and squiggled in, undid some of the bolts, then realized that actually I couldn't maintain that position. I just didn't have the strength in my legs. And what happened was I ended up having to kneel down in the mud and all the water and go out on hands and knees just absolutely drenched.
>> Andy crawled to freedom through 500 yd of smelling foulness. I can't even imagine.
>> So that's the belly plate off from underneath the engine there. So you can see the tracks there now. So now I can get to the sump plug.
And the first lot is ethnical stro on the tracks, but that's just how it is.
Obviously, I'll put some environmental uh catchment mats under there.
For [ __ ] sake, what I'm just going to do quickly. Oops.
Try and get the plug in. I'm just going to, as dark as it may seem, take a look at it, smell it. Little taste to make sure it's not coolant, but it's not. So, let's see if we can get back to uh there and let some more out. I don't know where it's got in. As I said, there must be another leak up on that exhaust manifold or something. I don't know. Let's just readjust.
Go again. So, hang on. There's a bit of oil here now, but All right, that's oil coming out now. I just let some of that glue out cuz it helps prevent the tracks from rusting. Come on.
Right now, I'm just going to let that settle again for a minute before I do it right up. And uh rat. How many times have I told you to wash up after weekly cross burning? See, it's coming off.
Yeah. A little bit of emulsification there again. Did you see that? Just a little bit.
So, it'll be good enough to fire up now.
uh you know, you're not putting water around the journals and the crank and everything like that. And well, that's your least your worries, but it could be a lot worse.
That's enough to get us going. But, uh, yeah, she's going to need to up as I said, but we can do that when we change.
You just want to fire it up, slew it round. Jobs are good. We'll stop it then. So, not the, uh, day I anticipated. be that be that weatherwise or um progress. But as I said with the Cabelico, these are all things that these are all things that need doing. Um we then YOU SHUT THE [ __ ] UP, CLEN FANDANGO.
So there's three little orphan lambs here in the kitchen.
Yes. Come on. Let's have a look at you then. Come on. You're making up enough noise. Um, Leo, hello. Anyway, so yeah, you're there waiting to be fed.
Right, muckers. Uh, day two and gone on a little bit of a road trip. Not too far, but um I'm heading across to one of my favorite places.
I think some of you will recognize this place cuz we got a special occasion. We got a charity road run on today. Here's all your roadless all your counties.
>> Look at that.
There's some line up there already.
Look.
including my steed for the day.
But for a change, it ain't blue.
So, I've been given a Renault for the day. Now, those of you that know back home in East Angs were a dealer, you know, the class combine people, they used to sell Renos, and so did Eastern counties farmers. So, um, we had a 14514 and I drove a 110, a 120, and a 155 54 uh Renault and a bigger one, one I think it was the I think it was the was it the 120 had the hydrostable TZ cab, so the whole cab was mounted.
This one's not. But um like I say, back in the day, these were a phenomenal tractor.
Absolutely fantastic.
And uh yeah, best bit about it is that MWM, probably the finest agricultural engine ever fitted in a tractor. Those MWM engines are how Fent got their reputation.
Weather's quite so deserved these days.
>> Looks like we're joined with another little 10654.
Very nice.
Well, so far the skies are keeping clear and sunny and um yeah, nice.
Really, really nice.
You can see there's a bit of darkness coming across the mountains over there, but as I said, that that can stay over there, but I don't know how many have turned up.
More than 50, which is fantastic to see.
That's the nice thing. People have come out not only to support the charity, but to support Richard and what he's doing, you know, and um that's lovely to see.
It's just nice to be out, you know, for me. Nice to be over again and uh with a with a great bunch of people.
Um and yeah, just makes me just makes me feel sort of normal, you know.
Um it's just doing things that that I do and it's lovely.
The sound of that old WM engine just phenomenal.
So this track has got 9,000 hours on.
Nothing not for any MW revs. Nothing.
So the group got split up somewhere along the line. I think they went right and wheel carried on. Whatever. on a road run. Who cares? It was a lovely day. Um, so we turned around and we're all heading back now. So I've ended up with uh the Massie and the Renault behind me now. And I'm following I'm following a case and uh that's my duty case now and then a new Holland and all that. But yeah, um it's great. Like I say, it's who cares?
We're all enjoying ourselves. It's fantastic.
That's what it's all about. We're all out together. The weather on the whole is lovely. We're seeing some phenomenal scenery.
As I said, it's always nice to go on road runs and that they're always in, you know, your area, aren't they? you know, even if they're in the next county where weather, but to be across the other side of the country in a complete contrast of landscape and scenery. Um, yeah, just fantastic.
It's a mother beautiful bridge and it's going to be there.
Now that's a proper Renault. Look at that. What a beauty.
Well, that was a really nice place to stop. It's not not often you get a chance track to road to pull up somewhere with a view like that. It's incredibly impressive.
And we're back in here.
Heck of a lot of tracks.
She's a good girl.
Lay down. Good girl.
There we are.
They're looking all right, ain't they?
>> They are, aren't they? I got rid of all the oldies.
>> Yeah, dead.
>> Yeah, that's good.
My colle's now uh keeping an eye on the sheep.
Good girl, B. She'll work them, you see.
These two don't really give a [ __ ] They're just happy to see each other.
>> That one there was born. And well, you still see it looks like a collie. It's cut. Especially when it's a little lamb, so we kept that one back. We got rid of some. That's it. B, you keep on them.
Um, I got rid of some of the older ones.
Down, B.
down.
>> Good girl.
>> Sean, there's a sheep attacking you. Go on, get the sheep.
>> You actually rounding her up. Typical.
The other thing we got is the three calves. Normally we'd have up to eight, but with everything going on, decided this year just to just have three and just to keep them ticking over, but uh it probably increase numbers going forward. So maybe get a dozen and then increase from there. We get uh the other yard at the back done. There they are.
Look, they're all right in the sun.
And the little lambs, of course. Let's go and see the lambs, shall we? Hello, lambs.
Yes.
So, there's the little three that you seen earlier. There's some bigger ones.
Put them all together now cuz uh the little ones are big enough. Yes, exactly. You got some new friends, haven't you? There. You got some new friends.
Yes.
There we go.
Well, as you can see, we got the Cabelco running now. Um, I'm just going to drop the bucket off up here.
and then I'll explain what we're doing.
But yeah, she's running. So, uh, that's bloody good.
Okay, so I've parked it all back up on the higher bit of the old, uh, crew yard here. Um, basically what we did is I charged the batteries um, cuz they were right down. Obviously, I drained that water at the bottom of the sump till we got oil. I let it sit, got a little touch more sort of emulsified stuff out. Uh, drained a bit more, right? Did it up. I then went and got some fresh clean oil because there was hardly any left in there. Um, put that in there and then um, yeah, got it fired up. She fired straight away.
Um, moved around, dropped the bucket.
Obviously, what repair the bucket, some other jobs to do. I've got slew around here. Okay. So, it's in a position now so I can with that belly plate removed, I can get in between the tracks, get on there and, you know, drain the oil out successfully next time. That's what we'll do. Next time will be starter up, run it, get it hot, get all that oil round, and uh stop it, drain it, new oil in, new filter. Jobs are good. Good grease up. Then we're going to power wash it. In fact, that may be done by the time I get back here. Power wash it all. And uh there we are. But it was good to have it running again. She just ran as good as she always did.
So there we are, muckers. Um that's what I've been up to. And it was so good to get back over to the farm. Um and yes, there's stuff to do obviously with the servicing of the Cabelco, which will be in the next sort of video uh when I go back over there, plus some other bits and bobs. Um, yeah, it was good to get back over there and and just like I said, the road run and everything. Just nice to feel, you know, a little bit normal. Well, you know what I mean.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that video.
Um, if you don't already follow us on here, then, um, you know, subscribe because it's free. And we're going to try and push this now to 100,000 subs, um, just because we can. and also give the video a like cuz it doesn't cost you anything either. So, there we are.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for following me. Thank you for all the support and messages and everything. And um yeah, we'll catch you on the next one.
What do you reckon? You enjoyed yourself, didn't you? Yeah.
