[00:00:00]Well, good morning. Happy Sunday and happy Mother's Day to all of our incredible moms out there today. I hope you have some fun plans in store. Let me walk you through your forecast to help you plan out today. Here's your next 12 hours for Los Angeles. We're staying in the 60s through the 9:00 hour. And then if you have brunch plans here in downtown Los Angeles, looking good if you want to sit on the patio. We're going to be 73° at noon, staying in the 70s, mid-70s at the 3:00 hour. So, looking good if you want to take your mom to the coast today, yeah, head on over to Newport Beach. There's some areas like the IE, I'm saying do the reservation inside. Not the case for our coastal areas. You can get that patio seat giving a view of the ocean there cuz we're going to be staying in the 60s throughout our afternoon for Newport.

[00:00:41]Walking you through the futurecast because this is something that we are watching as we get into the morning hours. A little bit of that marine layer with us, those low clouds. So, take a look at this futurecast taking us into this morning. 7:20, we still see again a little bit of that marine layer along the coast, and moving a little bit inland for the LA basin. But as you get into this afternoon, similar to yesterday, it'll start to clear out. We get more of that sunshine and then temperatures really start to ramp up.

[00:01:05]So, let's take a look at that cloud cover. Here's a live look at downtown Los Angeles this morning. A gorgeous view of our skyline, but definitely painting the picture of that May gray that we are seeing this morning. If you are heading outside, yeah, that's your view. Let me get to your temperatures that we are seeing at this hour. So, we are low 60s along the coastline there in Huntington Beach. 63 also in Yorba Linda. Continuing north here, 60 there along the coast in Manhattan Beach.

[00:01:29]We're 57 in Woodland Hills. For those of you in Santa Clarita, 54° at this hour. But take a look at this.

[00:01:37]Here's our highs today. For Santa Clarita, 91. Okay, so reservations for mom inside for brunch today. As we continue along the coast here, mid-60s for Malibu. So, you're good to go there, actually a little bit cooler. And then we'll continue south here. 70s for Manhattan Beach. 82 there in Whittier as we look inland. Moving our way into Orange County, 76 for Anaheim for the high today. We are 68 there in Huntington. And then for those of you in the IE, I didn't forget about you. You are also going to be in the 90s today.

[00:02:04]So, like I said, reservations for your mom inside and then maybe take her to the pool after that. Let's take a look at what we can expect. I want to quickly bring in one more map here just to show you. Yes, hot temperatures today and we're only getting warmer into our Monday. So, because of that, we do have a couple alerts that we're watching. An extreme heat warning for the Coachella Valley. So, if you were thinking, I want to take mom to Palm Springs, sure you take her to the pool. Temperatures exceeding triple digits. And then a heat advisory for the Inland Empire because of those temperatures that could reach up to triple digits. And that's going to continue from today into tomorrow. So, those temperatures ramping up, peaking for our Monday, but then we are looking to get a cool down as we get into the middle of the week. So, next weather alert for us tomorrow for the IE specifically with those temperatures in the 90s and a chance for those triple digits. And why are we getting this?

[00:02:52]Well, this is a ridge of high pressure.

[00:02:53]You'll notice shifting east and then centered right over Southern California on Monday. So, that's why those temperatures are peaking. As we get into the week, that's going to push east. We get the influence of this low pressure system. So, we get that onshore flow where that cloud cover, that's going to start to cool us down. Rain staying to the northwest. We will get a little bit of some cooler temperatures. We'll take it. Here's your next 7 days for the LA OC metro area. So, 80s today for our Mother's Day. We'll stay in the 80s Monday, back to those 70s by the middle of next week. For those of you in the valleys, 90 today, ramping up to 96 come Monday, back to those 80s by the middle of the week. And then for those of you in the IE, buckle up, okay? 93 for the high today.
