The U.S. Justice Department settled a lawsuit against the Biden administration, acknowledging that government officials exerted coercive pressure on social media companies to suppress certain speech during the pandemic. This settlement, which included a $150,000 payment, represents a significant admission that the government attempted to silence journalists and critics who shared information about vaccines and public health measures. The case highlights the tension between government authority and free speech rights in the digital age, demonstrating that even during public health emergencies, citizens and journalists retain the right to express controversial viewpoints without government interference.

History will NOT forget this, journalist saysAdded:
Welcome back. A major victory for journalist Alex Baronson after the Justice Department settled his lawsuit alleging social media censorship under the Biden administration. Baronson was suspended from Twitter at the peak of CO in 2021. Why? Because he posted this. It doesn't stop infection or transmission.
Don't think of it as a vaccine. Think of it at best as a therapeutic with a limited window of efficacy and terrible side effect profile that must be dosed in advance of the illness. And we want to mandate it. Insanity. Now, the DOJ settlement acknowledges Biden officials exerted coercive pressure on social media companies to suppress certain speech during the pandemic. Journalist and author Alex Baronson joins me now.
Alex, it's good to see you. Um this is a long fight. This has been a long time coming. Tell me what this means. This victory.
>> It is a long fight. It means that for the first time uh you know no one will be able to say that this company that Twitter back before Elon owned it did this on its own. The government has acknowledged they put pressure on Twitter. And I know people will say, "Hey, this is the Trump administration acknowledging something the Biden administration did." But I think you know me. You know, I write what I think is true, and I don't always write stuff that the Trump administration likes. And believe me, this was a hard-fought deal.
My lawyer, James Lawrence, and I, we had to negotiate this. We had to negotiate this language. This was an armslength agreement. And I'm really happy with it.
The main the legacy media, the New York Times of the world, uh, have refused to cover this, but history will not forget that someone finally admitted the pressure the Biden administration put on this company. That seems to be the big victory, right, Alex? I mean, there you there was a financial component of this settlement. Yes. But as I understand it, Alex, you held out. It wasn't the money.
You weren't going to settle until you got this admission. And we all knew it.
We knew that was happening, but it's something different for the government to say, "Yes, in fact, it did happen. We pressured X to take down Alex Baronson."
>> That's That's exactly right. And the money, listen, the money was uh I you know, I've disclosed this publicly. It was $150,000. I believe in transparency, which is, you know, that's a nice sum of money, but it isn't millions and millions of dollars. It isn't why I did this. I did this because I wanted someone to admit the truth. And and by the way, um I am still suing two top Fiser officials because a guy named Scott Gotautle, Dr. Scott Gotautle, played a crucial role in this censorship. He worked with the Biden White House and that part of the suit is going forward. and my lawyer and I believe that this admission from the government will help with that.
>> Yeah. Um so let's take it beyond you Alex. I mean you were at the forefront of a lot of this CO information that was deemed co misinformation and then taken down by ex but this is also I think not just a window into what the government was doing in that time period but possibly they'll never say this but an admission of what else was going on. I mean you weren't the only one right?
You're you're exactly correct and you know uh Robert F. Kennedy Jr. he was he was attacked m mainly for his uh Instagram po his Facebook and Instagram posts um but this was happening to a lot of people Dr. Jay Bodacharia, you know, his posts were coming under pressure.
So, so, uh, and he's now the head of the NIH. I would go even further than that.
Okay? This is about free speech and this is about, and I would, and I'd say this is true of the Trump administration, too. Don't put pressure on these companies. Let Americans talk. Let Americans debate whatever their views are. And, you know, I have a Substack now. It's called the Unreported Truth Substack. And Substack is a company that's always stood up for me whenever I've come on on Fox, and I've been on Fox a lot. You guys have always let me speak and I'm very grateful for that and that's what we should be standing for as Americans.
>> Yeah. I mean, government officials calling private companies saying, "This guy is saying these things and we want you to silence it." That's that's obviously over the line and a hell of an admission to secure. Alex Baronson, thank you so much. You bet.
