Does God Protect Vulnerable Groups From Exploitation?

[00:00:00]Does God offer special protections for particular groups? Yes, and that that might seem controversial to say, but if you go through the Old Testament and the New Testament for that matter, you'll see that he repeatedly makes warnings against exploiting particular groups which are vulnerable, especially vulnerable. And so as he lists them, you'll see this if you pay attention to this, you'll see it again and again, but that's the sojourner, the foreigner that's coming through your land who has no power, no nothing, the widow, the fatherless, the orphan, and the poor.

[00:00:29]All of these people are those that are marginalized that could be easily exploited because either they don't have a husband or a dad to look out for them, they don't have money to wield influence or buy influence, or they're a foreigner with no attachments in your land. So all of these groups could be easily exploited and God comes and says, "Hey, remember when you were a a stranger in a foreign land? Do you remember those days when you were especially vulnerable and I showed up to defend you? And remember what I did to those that exploited you?

[00:00:56]I put them down. And so if you are going to do that to the marginalized, my wrath will turn on you." And so God shows special protection to those vulnerable groups: sojourner, widow, orphan, poor.
