Spring weather forecasts typically include precipitation timing, temperature trends, and severe weather alerts, with early spring conditions often bringing cooler temperatures and frost risks that can impact agricultural crops like cherries, particularly in northern regions.

Rain returns overnight Tuesday into Wednesday | WTOL 11 Weather - April 28Added:
Well, we were able to shake off the very wet and damp start to the morning with those scattered rain showers and to end up with a very nice looking and feeling spring afternoon. Looking toward the Marblehead Lighthouse cam, mixed clouds, peaks of sunshine, and a few more of those spring vibes that are being felt across the area. Could be a good evening if the grass is drying out just enough to get that lawn mower out and get a little yard work in as we go through the evening tonight. Nothing showing up on Doppler radar, so it will be dry tonight. And we're expecting quiet our area, but it's going to be another day of severe weather that is going to be breaking out. This is well south of us across Texas, Oklahoma, into Arkansas, where there are active tornado watches and severe thunderstorm watches. In fact, they could get some serious tornadoes and very large hail down across North Texas. Could be looking at baseball-size hail or larger. And fortunately, nothing like that for us.
There are no active alerts in our area, and we expect we will stay quiet.
There's no risk of any severe weather tonight, although rain is going to work back into the area by daybreak. We are in the 60s right now, very typical mid-to-late April day as we enter into what is going to be the final weekend in our final few days of April coming up here. Here's the rest of the night tonight. Showers are going to be approaching. This is going to be by daybreak Wednesday. So, here's the timing of this. Here's the clock, 7:00 a.m. So, if you're an early riser, that rain may already beat you out the door.
Showers are going to be likely as we go through daybreak. So, bus stop forecast, that morning commute, very likely it's going to be wet. We have no risk of any severe weather, but it is going to be damp and cool all day Wednesday. Some additional afternoon showers, and it may be up to a quarter of an inch of rain that could fall on and off throughout the day Wednesday. Showers taper off Wednesday night, and we're trending toward dry weather Thursday, although a very slim chance we may get an isolated sprinkle late Thursday. Rainfall totals for most areas, they're going to be around a tenth to two tenths of an inch.
Some areas could get up to about a quarter of an inch of total rain. And we certainly don't need any more rainfall.
It has still been the wettest start to spring on record in Toledo's history.
After last night's rain and early this morning, we're up to about 11 and 1/2 inches of total rain. More rain returns tonight. Lows are going to stay in the upper 40s. Wednesday's highs, they don't move much from the mid-to-upper 50s.
Rain likely in the morning. We'll get a break at some of those showers, few late-day showers in the afternoon. And overall, it's going to be fairly cloudy on Wednesday. Mid-50s for Thursday, largely going to be a dry day, brief chance we get a sprinkle or two. Could get cold enough some frost shows up Friday morning, back in the mid-30s.
Highs in the lower 50s for Friday and Saturday. It is going to be a cool feel into the weekend ahead. First few days of May, yeah, there they are. They are quite chilly Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Frost chances continue into the weekend.
In fact, it will be most likely Saturday morning, down around 32° Saturday morning, at low 50s Saturday, back to the 60s Sunday. We are dry through the weekend ahead Saturday and Sunday. And then next week, additional rain chances Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. And really hard to be able to shake this. It will be below average for could be the first 10 to 14 days of May, a cooler than average outlook. The end of frost is near, though.
>> Near, but not here yet. We've got several mornings starting Friday morning, and especially up in Michigan, there could be some areas that could be close to a hard freeze. That's where we get a little bit more concerned. If you get a little frost this time of year, that's not unusual, but we do need to avoid or hope to avoid when we dip back into the 20s, because that's when some more damage begins to some of our sensitive vegetation, some of our fruit trees that we don't want that cold weather.
>> Especially the cherry crop. It is.
Especially up in Michigan, where they could be back in the mid-to-upper 20s, there's more of a concern up there for that.
>> All right, thanks, Chris.
