[00:01:39]Deputy Science Minister Denis Sekirinsky calls it a step towards creating the world's first gene therapy drug designed specifically to delay aging.

Russia plans to begin production of this gene therapy drug between 2028 and 2030 as part of a broader strategy to tackle its declining population, rising mortality rates, and an aging society.

In 2022, Russian outlet Proekt reported that President Putin took antler baths, a controversial treatment where a person immerses in an extract made from young deer antlers. The process has drawn criticism for animal cruelty as the antlers are cut from live deer while still rich in nerves and blood supply, often causing them extreme pain.

[00:03:23]The treatment is believed by some to improve circulation and rejuvenate the body, though scientific backing remains limited. This obsession with longevity isn't limited to Russia alone. In a hot mic moment, President Putin and China's President Xi Jinping were overheard discussing the future of aging.
