Las Vegas Athletics Stadium Construction Update 05 18 2026Added:
Hello, this is Don't Stop.
Well, today I am at the Athletics Ballpark.
I'm across the street.
Right now, I'm at the MGM Grand parking deck.
It is Monday, May 18th, 2026.
All right, so as you can see, we got the Big Red. He does have his cable lowered.
So, I'm hoping to see them pick up another section of the roof shoring.
I'm trying to figure out I could see some of the shoring that's on the ground, but I can't make out Let's zoom in there. We look through the second level there.
We can see that some of the shoring is laying down on the ground.
Now, I don't know if they're going to pick that piece up today or if you know, they're doing something else with the with Big Red, but we're going to hang out a little bit, see if they lift anything up.
Cuz last week, they did put up this uh sixth piece of the shoring. This would be uh you know, in the left field.
left outfield.
And then they have the other piece on the ground. I don't know if that piece is going to go on top of the one they just put last week or if they're going to put it you know, kind of in the right field area, there should be another one that's going in that that way.
Cuz now that I'm looking at it, if I'm not mistaken, whenever they pick up a piece of the shoring off of the ground when it's laying down, they usually have a that second crane back there that's kind of lifting up the other sides for them to swing it up over.
So, it might not be going up today.
We'll just keep an eye on it and see.
It is pretty breezy this morning. Yesterday was really windy.
Think they said at the airport they had gusts up to like 65 mph recorded.
Today, I think it's like around 20 or so right now.
All right, let's check out. They are closing more of this lower level.
When I was here last time, they they had probably not even half of what's done on this wall now. We could see all the stuff they're putting up there. Let's zoom in on the crew on that scissor lift and see if looks like they have some of those uh panels they're putting up.
So, it was a busy weekend. My son, proud parent here, he graduated at UNLV. He is now in a he got his electrical engineering degree.
So, that was good. I think they said this weekend 3,700 students graduated at UNLV from all their different schools they have there.
So, my son graduated Saturday and my daughter will graduate next week, high school. So, been a little busy.
Time flies though. Still remember them just going to kindergarten, so it's a little bit crazy how fast time moves.
You know, before we know it, 2 years from now they'll be playing baseball in here already, so it goes quick.
All right, let me swing around here.
We're going to check out. I do see some crews up top of the upper levels where they're putting the new uh seating.
They might be putting in the the uh decking, the pan.
All right, this is Harley right in front here.
And if we look at over here, they are just starting to wake up Red Junior.
So, I have noticed every time I have driven by that this new crane, they do uh lay it down every night.
Well, we can see here that they are starting to lift it up.
I haven't really seen any lifts with it yet.
So, I'm not sure if they're using anything you know, doing anything with it right now, but they are waking them up.
And I can't see it, you know, it's slow process moving it up.
Could just imagine how much that crane weighs, how much how strong it has to be just to you know, pull it up off the ground.
Let alone lifting um what is it? 700 metric tons.
Pretty impressive how these cranes work.
Okay, we can see they're welding something over here.
Sorry for the shake. I'm just zoomed in so far and then with this wind that's blowing blowing the camera around.
All right. So, obviously we've seen where the iron workers they bolt up you know, the steel as they're putting the beams up but then obviously we can see that they do weld some of the stuff also.
Could do they weld the >> [snorts] >> the decking down, the pan? I don't know what they're working on but anyone knows leave us a comment.
All right. So, timeline from what I've read online um the first roof truss is supposed to start going up.
They said around January 1st.
And then I also read that the they have the pre-fab concrete that they use for the seating you know, all the different levels that they would lay them across how you could see the different um levels there.
It's concrete, you know, precast concrete that they would bring in. And that is I read is around June 12th that they will start bringing some of that in.
You know, once they start going at it, starts getting real cool cuz you know, you get a better You know, everything just looks good.
You're going to be able to see you know, more of the shape of the inside of the stadium.
You know, as long as they don't uh start enclosing these upper levels, we'll be able to see in and check all that out.
It was a busy weekend again this past weekend.
The Electric Daisy Carnival, which they call EDC.
That was just in town uh Friday night, Saturday night, and then Sunday night.
It's like a electronic music festival.
I think it's over 150,000 people a night. They spend all night there. It's from dusk till dawn.
So, right when the sun start coming up this morning, that's when it finished.
And they do that at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
So, that's like a crazy uh It's the young kids. I know I couldn't do it.
Partying all night.
Out there, so.
That, but it brings, over the 3 days, it's 500,000 people attend.
So, it's a big thing.
Then, I think, I saw something, the Country, uh, Music Awards, they were here. I think it was last night.
And that was at the MGM Grand, where I'm standing now.
That wind is really picking up right now.
But, uh, yeah, there's always something going on.
And then, the Golden Knights have advanced in the Stanley Cup. I think this will be for the Western Conference.
They're going to be playing against the Colorado Avalanche.
The first two games are in, um, Colorado, then games three and four will be here at T-Mobile Arena.
I think they get here, game three, I think, is this Sunday.
Ooh, the wind is really getting crazy right now.
All right, I can see that big red, it's lifting its cable up. I can't tell if anything's on the end. Um, it's looking like it might not be.
You know, there's a chance it might be too windy just to be able to lift anything up.
>> And you can see the cable swinging around there.
I know when they do pick up the shoring, they have that special special uh piece that they hook up to the shoring.
But to me, it looks like that cable's just moving around.
All right. Now, if we look through this opening, we can see the cables.
This is These are big reds cables. It does look like now they're starting to spread them out there.
I do see someone down below. Let's see if we can zoom in and see.
All right. So, we'll keep an eye on that. See if they uh start lifting.
We're going to take a look in the back there. We have the yellow crawler on that west side.
Let's take a look and does look like they're it has something on its end of its uh cable there.
We look towards the Luxor. Let's see if we can see what they're working on.
And I can't see anything. I just see a lot of the like scaffolding they have there for the stairs that are going up.
And that in the background, that is like the monorail or their uh tram track back there.
Okay, so here we go. We got the this orange like telescopic type of crane. I'm not sure the name of these ones.
So they are starting to raise the boom on it.
So I guess we might see a uh uh shoring lift coming soon.
Cuz this from what I've seen on the um that Athletics Ballpark Cam they will hook this up to the pretty much the bottom of the piece of shoring and they lift it off the ground a little bit. So when Big Red starts to swing up the other end you know, to keep it from like getting caught in the ground at all. You know, they'll help help lift it a little so they could swing the piece up off the ground.
And then you could see the cables there.
They look like they're moving pretty loosely though, so I don't don't think it's like hooked up all the way yet.
Well, it looks like I mean like no tension. I'm looking for all the tension in them.
I see the crew on this scissor lift here, the blue lift.
They might have went down to get another some more of those panels.
You can see one right there.
Let me zoom in on one of them. See what they call these ones.
I can't get a focus on it.
I can't get a focus on it. At least on the viewfinder it doesn't look like it's in focus.
Driving by this site now when you're on Tropicana or Las Vegas Boulevard, pretty impressive, you know, on on the video you don't I'm assuming you wouldn't get the full effect. I mean, you can't you can't tell. I mean, it's a big big project.
But when you're driving by and you have all these cranes now and all of this turquoise colored shoring for the roof, you know, it's just it's massive.
The same thing with the new guitar tower that's going up at the Hard Rock. When you go by on Las Vegas Boulevard, the presence of that building is just giant.
So, it's pretty uh pretty amazing sight. If you're here, if you come here in person, make sure, you know, if you watch these, try to get out to these sites just to check it out.
Just to see how uh you know, how big they really are.
Pretty impressive.
All right, I do see that they're they swung Junior around a little bit.
Only thing I could think that they would be using it for is maybe if they're still working on building some roof trusses on the outside there.
And then they'd be able to use that.
The red tower crane over there, they are uh swinging that around, so they're going to pick something up with that.
And then uh hardly I haven't seen them move it since I've been here.
It does appear like it's cable is lowered, so they must be working on something on the inside that I can't see, but usually they move around at a faster pace.
I'm going to zoom in on the upper seating areas that they're working on down there, and we will Yeah, just when we could watch the video and just see what's going on over there.
>> So, I don't see many, you know, much crew working down in there.
And every so often you will see somebody, but Now, you can see the Sphinx in the back there.
All right, and that's the end.
I mean, it should continue around a a lot more.
Pretty much, you know, this upper-level seating will go all the way around.
On top of where they have the second-level decking, the concrete.
All right, that right there is one of the buttresses.
That was the last one they built.
Yeah, eventually we're going to see all this uh all the roof structure get attached to all of these different buttresses.
It's going to be really cool to watch.
All right, so this uh wood here you see in front, like the safety fencing.
This is the second level deck closest to us.
This would be considered like the north east side of the stadium.
You know, eventually we'll see the seating wrap all the way around to this side.
All right, I want to check something out. Since I've been here, I see how we got the monorail that comes right in front. This is the end of the track, so I've never really watched how they you know, they have to switch it from one side of the track to the other.
So, let's see what they do here. Somehow that piece is going to swap over.
We should see that piece move right now.
Maybe, cuz somehow they're getting on this other track.
There it goes.
We can see it swinging over, and the other one moves out of the way.
So, that's how they change directions all the way at the end over here.
And now it'll just go.
They used to have talks when they first put this in that it was going to continue to the airport, which it did.
You know, and now I don't know if you guys know about uh Elon Musk. He has the what it's called the Boring Company.
And they're building the tunnels underneath the Strip.
And what they're doing with that is they basically it's just a tunnel kind of wide enough for one of his Teslas to fit inside.
And they drive underneath the all of Right now, it's like going by the Las Vegas Convention Center.
It's more on the north end of the Strip, but they're going to have tunnels going all around to the different hotels, to Allegiant Stadium, to the airport.
You know, it's way faster because you're not dealing with all the traffic up above.
So, it's called the Boring Company. It's pretty impressive.
I've never taken a ride in one of them, but they uh My son has. He's with school last year, they got to go on like a tour of the site.
Pretty interesting. You know, look it up. Boring Company.
And it They I have heard that the cars are supposed to be self-driving when they do it, but it they've been operating probably a couple years now, and they do have a person that's driving the car in there.
But it's it's you know, I guess, you know, the monorail it never really took off over here, and that will probably be busy.
It's not really anywhere I could show the construction cuz most of it's under the ground, but maybe one day I'll try to find a way to go for a ride and just show what I'm talking about.
Okay, they just moved the cable.
It's kind of looking like they might not have anything hooked up to the end of Big Red here.
If we look at the Luxor sign, we could see the end of the cable there.
I can see right there. So, the obviously, it looks like they are not going to be lifting any shoring in the place today, or at least not right now.
Got those dangling around.
So, they could be building like some more of the some more of the shoring or even a truss down in there.
And I have yet to see any of the other cranes besides the tower crane lifting anything.
>> All right, before I leave this area, I'm going to go back over to this upper level. We're going to zoom in on the crew that we We saw the one crew there were welding something and there's some more people on this these lower levels here. Let's see what if we can figure out what they're working on.
And we got the big face there. I don't know who that is.
Must be an advertisement just for something.
>> I saw all those yellow like those appear like yellow cones now. I was I thought it was a like a whole bunch of the crew up there doing something.
But we could see all the yellow cones.
All right, I'm going to make my way to the car. I'm going to go drive around and go a different location. We'll see what else we could see uh But I might get my um Pocket 3.
That's the one I could put up over the wall and I might walk down Tropicana Avenue over here.
Think that's what I'll do. So I'll I'll walk down Tropicana, put it up over the wall, and we're going to go down.
I'll walk down towards you're heading towards Las Vegas Boulevard that way and we'll be able to see like we got all this stuff going on down here.
And then just we'll try to see maybe it'll give the perspective I was talking about when you drive by.
You know, showing just all the shoring coming up and all them cranes sticking up out of the site.
But I think that's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to head on down there and we're going to put the camera up over that construction wall.
And see what kind of view we get from there.
Okay, I'm now on Tropicana. I got the camera up over the wall here.
So I'm closer to the This will be the northwest corner here.
I'm not all the way down because they have the sidewalk blocked off.
But, we can see right there that is the pedestrian bridge.
This is where they they goes under the ground. This is how they used to get you know, the underground parking. That is the the way they would get down under there.
If you see some of my other videos when I'm on Las Vegas Boulevard down there, we can't see down into the area that is open the way they, you know, did all the demolition there. It's open on that other side.
I'm just going to pan around. We're going to check out what we could see on this end.
Still really windy down here.
All right, let's check out the stadium.
>> Trying to see if Big Red is picking anything up yet. It doesn't look like it.
We can't see his cable is lowered.
So, right in the middle of the frame there, that is where I was hoping to see them lift a piece onto that uh first section of shoring there, but nothing yet.
Now, you can see the escalator that's sitting up there.
Not really sure why these escalators on this north end had to be placed up there already because it doesn't appear Here, there's really nothing obstructing it where they could have just put them when they needed or, you know, as they built more on there, but All right, but here's all the steel and everything when you're driving by.
You know, that's just all sticking up over the wall. It's pretty impressive.
All right, there's Junior there. Junior, they are not using them.
And then let's check out Harley. Should be over here.
And we got Harley there.
This uh Tropicana behind me, very noisy.
All right, we got that flatbed there.
I'm trying to see it. It doesn't look like anything's on the back of it.
>> All right, I'm going to start walking down Las Vegas or down This is Tropicana Avenue. I'm going to start walking down this way.
Yeah, we'll just look up over the wall as I'm going.
All right, we can see like a I don't know if that's like an office or storage right there.
All right, so we can see underneath there you know, that when they bring equipment in and out, they got to go through They could drive underneath some of these openings here.
>> Then there's the crew. Well, that's actually that's that one they're not on the blue scissor lift, but that's the wall I was showing earlier in the video that they were putting up some of the sheets of that you know, they're doing close up there.
And there's the dust control.
You know, that's a big thing out here because it is so dry out here all the dust.
So, they're always you always see the water trucks going around to help keep the dust down.
Okay, I'm going to keep walking down.
So, here we can see how these three uh the roof soaring are lined up here.
I'm not sure which way the trusses will go.
I'm thinking they're going to go east to west at first just to because of the the design of the building the way it's going to have like them five pendant roof pieces where they kind of go from like east to west laying, you know, wrapping up over the top.
All right, I'm going to continue walking.
All right, so I'm about the end of the walkway here. This is the gate two entrance that goes in right by all the construction offices.
You can see them over here.
All right, so we didn't get to see them lift some of the shoring today, but here we got this view here. I don't really come to this side too often.
So, anything you liked about the video, if you could give me a thumbs up, that would be greatly appreciated.
Please leave some comments.
And then um if you're not subscribed and you would like to follow along, if you could give me a subscribe to my channel raiders1967, that would be greatly appreciated, also.
That way you could follow along with this build as well as with the Hard Rock.
That thing is moving really fast, also, so I'd like to thank everyone for watching.
And I will talk with you guys next time.
