Sonic the Hedgehog's speed capabilities are not limited to Mach 1, as demonstrated by his light speed feats in Sonic Colors for DS and his ability to operate in white space, a timeless realm where Dr. Eggman himself confirms time does not exist, making his speed measurable and scalable beyond the speed of sound.

Scaling Sonic the Hedgehog’s speed and debunking Mach 1 argumentsAdded:
Hello guys, it's Super Silver. Today I want to talk about something I've been commonly seeing larkers say about Sonic.
And that's the argument that base Sonic is stuck at Mach 1 speed or speed of sound.
They say this because in some manuals and Xbox achievements it's stated he's Mach 1, but this doesn't matter because we've seen Sonic surpass Mach 1 multiple times.
I'm no power scaler, but I can spot dishonesty and larping so I'm just going to show my scans. First of all in Sonic Colors on the DS Sonic states light speed, which is higher than Mach 1, isn't a challenge. This scales him to light speed on a low ball. An argument for this would be that Sonic is cocky, which would only work if the person you're debating is a larper who doesn't understand Sonic's character.
Cocky is defined as being conceited, arrogant, or overconfident in a way that is often annoying to others. Sonic is none of these things. He's definitely not arrogant.
Another important thing to note is white space, which is a realm that exists outside of space and time.
Operating in timeless void is one of the qualifications for a measurable speed.
There's been arguments about time existing in white space, which is untrue as Dr. Eggman, who is the smartest character in the verse, states that white space has no time in all three versions of the game.
Even when they re-released Sonic Generations, that line wasn't changed, meaning it's important. So I'm going to scale Sonic at a measurable speed. Now I'm going to debunk some Mach 1 scans.
I've seen this one, which is honestly funny. Since it's obviously a game mechanic and you can literally surpass Mach 1 in this mini game.
This is what happens when people who don't play the games try to scale the characters.
This scan is outside information published by Nintendo, not Sega.
Somehow I've genuinely seen people argue Xbox achievements as anti-feats, which is stupid as they're not connected to the story at all.
I've also seen this manual used, which doesn't matter as it's literally proved in the game that he runs at a measurable speeds.
Anyways, that's probably going to be it.
I don't want a bunch of Mario goons in my comments trying to prove me wrong, but yeah, Sonic is a measurable speed.
