Have we found a new way to plant corn?

[00:00:09]So, I'm rolling in here to the farm and I'm going to take you over to the planter so I can try to explain to you exactly how a long pink streak of corn ended up on top of the ground instead of in the ground uh last week. It's uh it's epic. An epic fail.

[00:00:49]It's unlocked anyway. Okay, so here is our corn planter.

[00:00:57]So last week we had a day where basically everything went wrong. I myself was not in the planter. Uh the combine operator was actually in the planter planting. So uh on this planter there are marker arms. So on these marker arms are hydraulic they're hydraulically driven and there's hydraulic lines that go to them. So combine operator got down into the field and one of them busted. So they ended up having to run a new line a long ways along here. So kind of runs up and in here. The the planter isn't isn't isn't unfolded. So it's kind of hard to explain what happened, but as these arms come out, they are actually underneath these cleanouts right here. So, at some point, one of these levers on the cleanout got moved and got to the point where it was evidently loose.

[00:01:55]>> No, no, no, no, no, no. Everything's Everything's cool right now. Might be some problems later, but uh we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

[00:02:04]>> And then these things uh the CCS uh you turn on the fan and it pressurizes it. And that's what blows the seeds out into the boxes. When it's unfolded, you cannot see back here to this because of the tank. So, when it pressurized, it opened up one of those cleanouts.

[00:02:27]See that corn right there? That's not supposed to be there. That's uh that's supposed to be in that box up there. So, it basically emptied an entire box out into the field.

[00:02:41]So, as you can imagine, >> no one was happy about that. Anyway, that was our epic fail for last week.

[00:02:52]Uh, other than that, everything went pretty smoothly. Um, so I'll take you out to the field and we'll see exactly what is left out there in the field.

[00:03:43]I mean, we've got little rows of it over here, but look at this. I don't know why we just don't I don't know why we just don't broadcast corn everywhere that thick.

[00:04:04]Anyway, just a monument to our failure.

[00:04:09]Yeah, that's not pink anymore. It's not a pink streak. Now it's green and pink with growing corn in it.
