I do have a formal complaint, but the last time I was out here, I thought I filmed and I had three other officers down here and I didn't get names and badge numbers. I didn't approach them because I was just filming that and I'm doing an investigation on tyranny into the police department. And this to me is tyrannical because [music] it's a do as I say, not as I do attitude where's a disconnect between the people and the police officers because how am I supposed to take you serious giving me a parking ticket when you're going to park up here? Get what I'm saying? How am I supposed to take that seriously when you're violating the law doing it yourself? How am I supposed to take you seriously or say what you say is legal when you're doing it yourself? You get my point? You guys are supposed to be the role models of the people. You're supposed to follow the laws and above the laws because you have your own policies in the department you have to follow as well. So, you're supposed to be the people's role models. You work for the people. You're their servants.

[00:07:59]So, I mean it look put yourself in my position. Would you be happy seeing an officer sitting up here when if I were to get ticketed for parking up here? Not to mention, it's also a a one, it's a violation of the parking code. Two, it's a continuous wear and tear on the people's club property, which we have to pay for to repair in the future on the vehicles and the concrete. So, you're violating two laws. You're not only vandalizing property of the public and the vehicles, but you're also parking in a no parking zone. And you're also another officer up the road there actually admitted this. [00:13:15]Apparently nothing going on, but yet it's taking how long to get me an officer to talk to me about these cars? I understand it's small small fry, but I like I said, I don't know how many parking tickets I've gotten in my lifetime from these people.

[00:14:25]Well, I kind of want to make sure the people that I'm trying to make sure gets tickets don't go back and move their vehicle because it's kind of ridiculous that somebody can park behind a police department in a no parking zone and not get a ticket all day. That's kind of ridiculous. You know what? And if you're going to ticket me, you're going to ticket thee.

[00:14:47]That's the way I see it. And if you're going to as you guys are supposed to be public servants and our role models to show us that we don't do this so you don't do this. But if you're going to go out here and deliberately park your personal vehicles in a no parking zone and then go out and get a ticket to somebody else, that's hypocritical, right?

[00:16:49]>> And I've I've received many multiple parking tickets for parking downtown in a no parking zone. And I'm curious why these vehicles don't have it after being there for an hour of my time and at least probably most of the day. Um, so we're going to get a ticket book and Mike walk around, make sure they get tickets put on them, right?

[00:17:08]>> Well, sir, it's not up to you whether they >> Well, wait a minute. Yes, it is. You're public servants. Our tax dollars pay your wages. And if you're going to ticket the general public, then you're going to ticket those vehicles as well.

[00:17:20]Otherwise, I'll file a complaint for dereliction of duty. It is your duty to observe and follow the law. Correct? Yes or no? So sir, we're trying to address the concern now. There are uh you said how many vehicles that you're >> There's two right now. The last time I was here, there's seven.

[00:17:43]>> Well, I'm affording them the same opportunity that I afford everybody else if I'm able to identify whose vehicle they are. Uh >> excuse me. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. If I were parked in a no parking zone, you're going to get afford me the same opportunity, but when I show back up and there's a ticket on my vehicle, how am I afforded the same opportunity to get a chance to move my vehicle?

So, for instance, >> if I uh am tripped to a no parker or a illegal parker and uh it's a car that is registered to a person that lives right on that block, then I go knock on their door and I ask them to move their vehicle. If they choose to move their vehicle, they avoid a ticket. If they choose not to or not to move their vehicle, then they get a ticket.

And uh those like I said those vehicles have been there for a long day all day and apparently you've hadn't ticketed them and haven't gone and investigated and done got their names and stuff and had asked them to move their vehicles. And and the reason I I I feel that you're giving them blue privilege because they're a member of the police department is because they're law enforcement. They know that it's a violation of the law to park there, but yet they chose to do it anyway. So that to me tells me no, they deserve a ticket because they're law enforcement officers. They know the law.

The larger legal question viewers wrestle with is not was someone parked [music] wrong. It's whether enforcement appears equal when public trust is on the line.

Law enforcement that know the law, not supposed to violate the law, get a chance to move their vehicles, but you wouldn't observe that chance to anybody else. And I don't think you would. I think that's a I think that's a stretch of the truth.

No parking. And it's right in front of my house. Nobody nobody came and knocked on my door and said, "Hey, sir, you're in parking in no parking zone. Move your car." Which I wasn't. My car just didn't move more than so much inches in 24 hours.

Well, I've never had a chance to move my vehicle before I got a parking parking ticket regardless of where it was, how how it was this and that. I wasn't even parking illegally. I was just my vehicle didn't move more than so many feet, which is still a parking ticket.

[00:28:44]I I find this very very very disturbing that you would give officers the the opportunity to move their vehicles knowing what probably well you know what I was told so many times by police and and it really irritates me that we're going to sit here and have this conversation because I was always told ignorance of the law is no excuse but they weren't ignorant of the law they knew the law and still violated it willingly and you're not going to give them a part a ticket. I I want I want to know your explanation because and tell me why and how they they can get away with that. Explain that.
