When a building collapse occurs, emergency response teams follow a systematic protocol: confirming the incident, evacuating adjacent structures, securing utilities, and assessing structural risks while engineers determine safe demolition methods; public safety measures include road closures and sidewalk closures to prevent additional injuries.

This just exposed a huge issueAdded:
We're out here at 5th and Central [music] on scene of a building collapse. That's a code for us. It's a 54 Charlie 1 is how it came out. We had reports of a building collapse and crews responded.
We have crews from station 1 and station 4 here. Station 4 is our heavy technical rescue station. So this is this is one of the things that they're trained to do. Where we're at right now is there are no reports of injuries.
When crews arrived on scene they confirmed that and then worked to start evacuating some of the adjoining structures of this building. So structures have been evacuated. No injuries have been reported. Utilities to the building have been secured. As most of you know this this building was deemed a substandard not for occupancy.
So it has been vacant for a couple weeks now.
The whole second story was vacant and it was just the the first floor that was occupied. So we're waiting for engineers at this time to figure out what we're going to do with the building to assess any more structural collapse risks and also to figure out how this building's going to be brought down or how they're going to remove the parts of it that are at risk. Due to the partial building collapse collapse we do have some road closures in the downtown area.
Specifically affecting the intersection of 5th and Central.
We ask the public that they use caution.
They listen to the road closures and sidewalk closures and walk on the opposite sidewalk. [music] So that was just random?
Just I don't know. The fences around it makes me think that they've or that maybe this is No No, this is before the collapse.
It looks like that building is already lean. Yeah. Yeah, look at look at the picture. They they knew this was coming.
They knew this was coming.
