Managing diabetes naturally involves following a low glycemic index diet (foods scoring 55 or below), which includes consuming legumes, berries, sweet potatoes, and ancient grains while avoiding white bread, sugar, and processed foods; additional lifestyle strategies include staying hydrated, regular exercise, adequate sleep, portion control, and incorporating cinnamon and apple cider vinegar to help control blood sugar levels.

Diabetes Reversed? What Happens When You Try Natural Healing
Added:The door is open. The kettle is on.
Welcome back to Sherry's remedy room.
All right, y'all. Today, the boy is drinking water. It is hot outside, but we going to talk about diabetes. I'd like to first welcome you here. If you are new here, welcome.
Welcome to Sherry's Remedy Room. If you're old here, nice to see you again.
Y'all know the routine here. Make sure you share this out. Leave me a comment and let me know what's your weather like. You see out there, it's hot out them doors. That's my boy drinking water. And we gonna talk about that a little bit today because it got something to do with diabetes drinking that water. But I would love for you to be subscribed to me, which is totally free. I do have a button where you can join the channel, but to subscribe to me or follow me is totally free, and I'd love to have you there. It does help me out. So, diabetes, it's a big one. It's a big one. There are so many things we can do to help ourselves. Sadly, right now, this little funky virus that's running around, it hinder things like what we need to keep our blood sugar low. Now, you want to when it come to diabetes, and I do take my notes, so I do have my notes, but um and notes are important. I always tell people to do your own research and write it down. Put it in a book cuz if this thing go away then what? Put it in a book. Keep up with it. I got a bunch of notebooks where I keep my notes. And we going to talk about some things like what can you do to keep the um blood sugar level low.
So mainly come it's all about diet. I mean y'all already know I'm going to say that. And people say sugar. Yeah. But what converts into sugar too? The hidden sugars. You know, a lot of people will drink a diet soda because, oh, it's better than a regular soda.
Drink that regular soda. I mean, I say drink none at all. Make your own, which we'll get into that a little bit later of making our own sodas, but stay away from them diet sodas, y'all.
If you going if you need a soda, just drink a little soda and be done. But the diet sodas, it ain't helping you at all.
So, we want things that's low on a glycemic index chart. anything that's 55 or below. And what I like to do is I like to talk about three things. Wheat, white wheat, whole wheat, and sugar.
What are the differences in these?
Because most of the time when you find out, I need to lose weight, so I'm going to cut everything white out. I need to lose weight or my diabetes, my blood sugar getting out of control. What do I do? First thing you want to cut out is white bread.
On a glycemic index chart, you should consume things when you are borderline diabetic or diabetic or healthier choices are things that sit 55 or lower on a glycemic index chart. And you can always look up the glycemic index chart and find this thing out for yourself.
But let's start with whole wheat because most people turn to whole wheat or brown bread because it's healthier.
Whole wheat sit at 72 on the glycemic index chart.
which is terrible. White bread or white wheat sit at 69 on the glycemic index chart. And then there's sugar, just plain white sugar. It sit at 59 on the glycemic index chart. So it kind of sound like I should be eating donuts rather than bread.
It kind of sound like that. None are good for you, but sugar is definitely better on a glycemic index chart than white wheat or whole wheat. Um, it's kind of weird. Right now, there are different types of flour we can use that are better for us. We definitely want to stay away from enrich products. They terrible. Period.
When it come to lowering your blood sugar, things like legumes and beans are very good for us. Um, I have my list here. So some things we want to keep in mind, we want to do when we are fighting diabetes and we want to control it with diet and lifestyle. So first you want to make sure you drink your water. This is my water of choice. My whole family like, "Girl, you got me drinking that blue bottle water." That's all right cuz it's good.
Drinking your water throughout the day, staying hydrated is important. Exercise don't mean that you got to go jogging, running around a block. Just get up moving around. Go for a walk. Something casual. Nice stroll. Go for a walk. Cut sugar. Period. Cutting sugar. Um, you want to up your fiber and late legumes.
I We talked about that. But up your fiber intake. And I keep saying I'm going to make bread with legumes. I have to show y'all that. We'll do that one day soon. Cinnamon and apple cider vinegar. You want to add that to your diet. That help control your blood sugar. Adequate adequate sleep. Most of us don't get enough rest. It's not healthy. It help with your blood sugar levels going up. Portion control. Now, here in the United States, we definitely have a problem with portion control because we like to eat a lot. We don't need that much. So, learn to portion your um your meals out. Now things of course I mentioned cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, bourbine, all these things are great to help um supplement or help with the lowering of your blood sugar. But if you control your diet, you can do that.
Leafy green vegetables. Um eggs are great protein but no carbs. Eggs are man you want to get your own chicken. Be careful where you get them eggs from cuz everything we get from the store is played with. So, if you can find you a local farmer and get you some fresh farm fresh eggs, you are doing better. And believe it or not, red meat is good. Um, we did do a carnivore diet for a little while previously um to help control blood sugar levels. So, if you get a grass-fed beef, now you can't go to the store and trust those labels. What we do is we go to Hunter Cattle and we get our um beef from there. Why I get my beef from there? I know that it's 100% grass-fed, grass-finish that is giving you all the nutrients and vitamins that you need to help control your blood sugar versus something from the store that just say grass-fed. You really don't know. I can buy a label, stick it on a package of meat, and you thinking you getting grass-fed. So, you want to be careful on that. Find a local butcher that can help you with that. But thank when it come to um fruits that's low cuz a lot of people eat fruit and they don't pay attention to the natural sugars in the fruit. Now you want to be careful with things like bananas and pineapple and stuff like that. But berries, things like cherries, grapefruit, beans, sweet potatoes, those are lower on a glycemic index chart and you can consume them and your body don't just spike. Your blood sugar levels don't spike when you eat those. um versus other types of fruit. Um same thing when it come to bread, you want to use something like a ancient grain.
And I have a whole series of ancient grain using ancient grains cuz it can be a little difficult to cook with. And I'll show you how I grind my berries, make my pasta, make my breads, make cookies. All these things depending on your ingredients will not spike your blood sugar like if you just go to the store, buy some cookies or using enriched flour. Ancient grains are the oldest grains that we can find. Um, and they come in different type. This is a corn, one of my favorite. I also have kimoot. I have spelt. I have coron. I have different types of grains. Now, depending on what I'm making is what berries I want to use. And you can get it already grinded up. If you don't have the machine to grind it like I do, um, you can buy it already grinded up. Now, you can buy allpurpose. You can buy just regular. Um, also Ancient Grain sell wheat now. So, you can get your pasta from there also. But again, you can make pasta. You don't need no fancy machine or anything. I was gifted um with a pasta machine, which we will make pasta with that, and I'll show you how that work. But you definitely want to incorporate something like if you want breads, pastas, different things. You want to look into the benefits of ancient grains or eorn. And I'll do a whole video on that if you'd like me to and explain the difference in ancient grains versus the regular flour that we normally get from the store. Now, when I make pasta, most of the time I use simolina flour.
So all of these different flowers say different things to the body once you enter the body and it's like oh okay we want things like ancient grains that the body can recognize most of this processed highly processed um enriched foods the body like what is that enrich you thinking that's something good but what it they do is they take out all the good stuff and add a bunch of junk to it so that they can preserve the shelf life um of the foods and our body don't recognize that it's like synthetic medicine. It's fake. So, you definitely want to make sure you consume whole foods and good food and things that's low on a glycemic index chart so your body can be happy and healthy. So, with that being said, I think I hit on everything right quick that I needed to hit on is ancient grains. Um yeah, you want to stay away from things like breads, cakes, pretzels, pasta, sugar, rice. Now, when it come to rice, I do separ um substitute my white rice. I use black rice most of the time because again, or red rice is good also. And it's not the red rice that you add a bunch of tomato paste to down here in the south. It's actually red rice or purple rice or black rice. Your body will um digest that slowly. it won't spike your glucose levels like white rice will do or even brown rice will do the same thing. Just spike you up. So, um we have to stop depending on these man-made things because they're not good for us. Um a lot of things in the United States they don't ban like they do in other countries. God made everything in perfect form. Man came along and said, "I'm going to do better and make more money and it's costing us our our lives." So, we definitely want to make better choices um so that we can live a great life until God call us home. So, let's go back and see what my last two weeks have looked like. I skipped last week cuz I was busy doing something. So, y'all stay tuned. I have a pretty big announcement coming up soon.
So yeah, while we were on the topic this morning about the seasonings, um, let's talk about change.
So, I'm still in the middle of a divorce where I hashtag stole myself and completely started life over in Savannah. I rented a place. Um, I furnished a place and I kept working because, you know, that that's my how was I going to live? I left everything.
Um, I didn't leave my marriage with money. I didn't leave my marriage with any of my property um or anything. I just walked away and started life all over.
That was a huge loss because we were doing great and you know financially and I had things but mentally we were not.
So, I moved on and I've been doing and let me tell you and God has carried me.
When I say God picked me up like come on here, girl, we got this.
And then I lost mom.
Change hurt.
And then I inherited my mom's house which is in Virginia. Another change. Move home.
Some people say you ain't going to be happy. Let me tell you, I have to move home because I inherited mom's house.
First of all, I was born and raised here. I mean, I was born in Richmond, but I grew up in this town. And it's going to be okay. It's change that I'm going to embrace. I'm going to have fun painting this kitchen. My cousin coming tomorrow. He going to help me paint. Um, I'm going to have fun. I'm going to do exactly what mom would want me to do to my house. Make it mine. So, when you go through something like this, don't be afraid to let go. You know, I I'm always like, "No, I'm going to keep this cabinet. This a corner cabinet. I'm just going to move it because that was my great aunt's cabinet. My mom inherited this house from her aunt. So, it's just change. She passed it on. My aunt My great aunt passed it to another generation. My mom passed it to me and I can't let it's just my mom passed it to me. So, going through her things, I have to be strong enough to say it's okay.
It's okay. Let it go because this is what mom would want. Um, so what are we gonna do to this house?
We gonna shake it up because that's what mom would do. That's what mom would want. We gonna shake it up and we going to make it home. So, Virginia, I'm coming home. My brothers are so happy. My family is so happy that I'm coming home. And I'm so happy, too, because I need them. And I miss being so close to my family. But I am going to miss Savannah, even though I can visit anytime.
I am going miss.
Yeah, let's do this. Embrace the change.
Make mom's house my house. Meaning, yes, I've seen a bunch of comments, Virginia, I'm moving home. Of course, I these cabinets right quick. I did not. What I did was I took a brush just so I can get in the cracks and crevices or they say use a sponge and sponge it in. And then I rolled them. I'm lazy, so I wanted the easy way. No sanding, no prepping, no anything. It was so easy. I just rolled them. So now I got to come back and fix in one coat. I just need to come back and beautify what I've done. Man, let me tell you, I cleaned some of this off, but my mom got a baker's rack in here.
Um, when she had surgery like 12 years ago, I decided I wanted to surprise her with a washer and dryer and enhance this space. She had a big hot water heater in here. So, I bought her a washer and dryer. My brother installed everything for me and even a tankless water heater on the wall. She was like so happy. She kept coming up here after she got out of the hospital looking like, "Oh my god."
So, the garden space. Come on, boy.
We're like, "Hold on. We going outside.
Come on.
There is space. Now, there is a huge pear tree here. And it's a fig tree over here. Um, my mom's neighbor, Mr. Phil, by the way. These are his strawberries.
He passed away a long time ago, but he was in his 90s. So, yes, I have space for my garden, mom's trailer. My brother is going to do this space for me. Um, I am building a space not just for me and this little guy, but I'm building a space where my brothers, my nieces, nephews, we can come have dinner, have space, cook out. My brothers love to cook out. Um, and we love to be together. So, that's what I'm making. A space where we can really enjoy mom's house. This is mom's garden. And yeah, I need to come and get stuff out of here.
But I just want to bring that to y'all right quick. Mom's house is well and alive. She was talking about these when we went in the hospital. So, I'll try to post that video in here where she talked about I need to move her cucumber cuz she couldn't do it. The cabinet paints came from heirloom tradition. My bedroom paint came from Lowe's and that is the Bora Bora Shaws which I love. Now, C got to come and transform this room and make it a masterpiece.
>> You got something to say?
>> No. Happy birthday. Thank you, Lord.
>> The kettle is on. Welcome back to Sherry's Remedy Room. Today is Thursday.
I hope y'all are having an amazing day.
The boy is happy to be home. Um, now I know y'all have heard about this cylo spora, however you say it, virus with the exploding diarrhea. I'm going to show y'all how you can combat that, how to stay away from it. First of all, over my neighbor's fence, cherry tomatoes. She'd be like, "Girl, get them tomatoes." And I will.
But I hope and pray that you all are having an amazing day. I have had a busy two months. Today, I'm working on getting orders out and getting ready for Christmas in July. That sale will start I want to say the 25th of July and it'll run for a week and you can get $10 off your entire purchase $50 or more.
Now the garden is still gardening.
It ain't missed a beat. This is black turmeric. My cayenne I'll come and harvest those today. I grow lemongrass in a pot. Now the potatoes I think I'm going get c to come over here one day and we going to harvest potatoes which I should have been harvested but mom got sick. Life took a turn. And God said I got another journey for you right now.
I'm going to take care of this. Now about this virus kale. It's so funny how the devil works because all the things that are low on a glycemic index chart, all the berries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries on the list of things we shouldn't eat right now, things we should avoid. Those are all the good things for diabetics. The fruit, the good fruit. Anywh who, this is how you combat it. Basil is on that list.
Cilantro is on that list. They better stop playing with us. I'm going to harvest the sweet potatoes right before I move to um Virginia. I'm going to let that keep doing what it's doing. The watermelon is doing what it do. You can see that hibiscus tree back there behind me is doing its thing.
Lots of cucumber.
And I'm just letting them cucumber and do their thing.
This journey that I'm on now, I've been on a journey because I hashtag I stole me from a very bad, abusive, dangerous situation.
And I started life all over.
God blessed me with the best landlord, the best neighbors, the best life. When I didn't know exactly what life was getting ready to look like, God said, "I got it. I told you, trust me." And I did.
Well, I didn't know that my mom I would lose my mom and I would be moving back to Virginia.
But God knew this journey that I was not familiar with and I was afraid of. And again, he said, "Trust me, I got you."
This journey has been so simple and so smooth to where I know this ain't nothing but God. You know, I trusted God when mom got sick and she would say, "It's been 30 days. Mom has been gone a little bit over right at a month yesterday.
And I would tell her, "Mom, you raised us.
Mom, we it's we going to be okay. You raised us to trust God. And no matter what this look like or what this is or what these doctors say or or what happened, we trust God. If God is calling you home, we going to be obedient.
And that is what has helped me with my grieving process. Um, and I kept like I would be so upset because I'm like, why did I have to go through what I went through with my husband, soon to be ex?
Why? Why? Why would somebody be so nasty? And then I said, you know what? You gota when people show you who they are, believe them. Believe it and just keep it moving. And that's what I did. Being safe because I always say I and I I've seen so many people, my my best friend's mom, she has buried two of her kids. So, I've seen so many people bury their kids, but I would always say it would not be fair for my mama to have to walk behind my casket.
It happened just the way it's supposed to happen. I buried my mom, which hurt.
That is the biggest hurt of them all.
But long as I didn't hurt her or allow somebody to hurt her and her have to bury us, my mom's six kids are well and alive. And I couldn't ask for a bigger blessing. Um, my mom went on to glory to join my father and her loved ones and that's that's the journey that our life have to take one day. Um, I'm just glad that it took place the way it did and not me trying to get out of my dangerous situation and something happening. So, here we are on this side of the journey and the grieving process of not just one thing but two things. I'm grieving the loss of my marriage. I'm grieving the loss of my mother. My mother's loss is the biggest loss ever. I think my marriage loss was to build me up so that I could be strong enough to deal with this.
And it hurt, you know, it hurt.
But I trust God. God has ordered every step. When I left back in November, every step had been ordered. And even with this grief walk, grief journey, every step is still ordered. And my job is to stay focused so I can be obedient.
That's all. You know, the devil come in or the enemy come in to rob, kill, and steal. Whether it's your joy, your life, whatever it is, that's his job. Our job is to stay focused and trust God. And that's what I'm doing in this journey. I'm staying focused and I'm allowing God to continue to drive this boat because he ain't failed me yet. He ain't failed me yet. I have no complaints. So, here I am back home walking around thanking God for every blessing, no matter how big or how small it is. Today, I am working on orders and restocking.
Check your emails because orders are going out tomorrow. They'll go out today. I'm packing. I'm restocking. I'm getting ready for Christmas in July.
Christmas in July starts July 25th.
It'll run for a week. You get $10 off your entire purchase. Anything $50 or more. Um, I think that's how that work.
Anyh who, you should get an email blast and it's on the website at sherry's remedyroom.com. Until then, if you have any questions or concerns, reach out to me through my email. I am bad with DMs.
I cannot check all those messages, but you can email me and we'll get back to you between myself and my assistant. So, y'all don't let the devil control what God got for you. That is his job to try to steal your joy. Don't let him do it.
Y'all have an amazing day and don't let nobody and nothing steal your joy. The door is open. The kettle is on. Welcome back to Sherry's Remedy Room. Today is Friday and it's a Friday, y'all. Um, I can say so much about this morning already. Other than I mean, but I hope y'all are having an amazing day so far.
Oh, my day started off very rocky. Um, or should I say very creepy.
Anyh who, I hope y'all morning has been as more beautiful than mine. Um, I had a scary mo morning this morning. I was in the dining room getting set up for filming later because we filming some things and I saw a snake.
It was a little snake and C was like, "I don't know how you saw that. Let me tell you, girl. I can see it. Could be a little ant moving." And I'm like, "What's that? Especially in the house, I can see stuff moving if it ain't got no business being there. And that's how I was this morning. I'm like, a snake almost abandoned the house. I was outside like somebody.
I didn't call my friend. I didn't call my yard man. I'm like, I know y'all at work. Help me. My friend was like, look, I ain't know what. I thought it was a another something else. like, "Girl, don't be scaring me like that." But there was a snake in the dining room and I was trying to figure out how am I going to get this out of here? Whatever.
What am I going to do? I sprayed peppermint oil in there and that thing went crazy. I was in here hauling and screaming, running around. My cousin was just she probably she put me on mute probably so she could laugh cuz I was freaking out and I'm like, "Lord, please help me." Now, I know and I believe and I trust in God and I know that he won't put more on me than I can handle. Well, he will, but I know that God will step in it with me and handle it with me. And he did because it's one I was like, Lord Jesus, help me. Help me. How we gonna do this? And he he helped me. He helped me.
He did. I just had to calm down. But my heart, let me tell you, I got all the cardio in the world I needed this morning. And I barely made five steps. I jumped from the I went from the dining room chair to the living room couch running on that like but I was reading up on snakes in the house and it can mean so many different things so many different things but one thing that really stuck with me is shedding the old and welcoming the new and I've been doing that.
this is my new norm. Um, without my mom, without my marriage, I'm a firm believer in everybody ain't supposed to go where you go. And that's okay.
We just got to be okay with that. We just got to accept that. Everybody don't deserve to go where you going. Everybody don't deserve your favor. And I know that the God that I serve, I know my God got so much favor over me to where anything and everybody that I touch going to be blessed blessed. My products are nothing but a blessing to people.
I've seen it. I've I've done it myself like strangers. And it don't have to be friends and people that that know me to know how I can bless people. And everybody don't deserve my favor.
And I'm okay with that. We just have to be okay with accepting the new norm. And that's why I met no mom other than our precious memories. My mama and I would tell my mama, "You raised us, girl. You raised us." We did a lot of talking those two weeks. And we were in the hospital for 12 days. My mom passed away um on day 15. We was at home by then.
But I would tell her like how proud of her I was because you raised these six kids to be strong people. And I would tell her like, "Mom, whatever trouble we got in, whatever we chose to do, that was our choice. That had nothing to do with you. That was us being grown." And you would tell us like, "You get out here. That's on you. Don't come calling me." And I appreciate that. Now, as a grown woman matured, my mom was proud of me and she would tell me how much she was proud of me and she was so happy to see where I had where where God was allowing me to become who I was intended to be. So, when she took her last breath, she was proud of me and that made me happy. Um, it I always say it doesn't take away from the hurt, but it made me so happy to know that my mom saw her kids in a bright light, in a happy place, in a stable place, and that that brought joy to her heart.
So, the snake being in the house freaked me out. I think it was in an Amazon box.
I don't leave my doors and stuff open. I know it can come through cracks or whatever, but I think it was in an Amazon box because it was near the Amazon box. Um, we have overcome that fear.
We have overcome that. Not fear cuz I'm terrified of snakes and stuff, worms and all that, but um, if God brought me to it, he'll bring me through it. And I was trusting him in that moment to help me get through it. And he did.
My mom taught me that and I couldn't be more grateful for mom teaching me to trust God wholeheartedly no matter what.
You might get a stray away sometime, get out of pocket and act like I drive his boat, but God will remind you that no, I drive his boat. He may remove his hands off us for a second just so we can see that we need God. And I appreciate that.
My mama taught me that. So, back to filling orders, restocking cuz I'm restocking for uh Christmas and July. I am communicating with the country, the Sugarcane Grind team to um get more information on the Sugarcane Grind Festival that take place the first Saturday in January. And that is coming fast. They are taking orders for t-shirts and different stuff. So, I'll make sure I um get the information for that so y'all can order t-shirts if you plan to be here in January. We love to see y'all and hang out with y'all. It's nothing but a beautiful time. We have Fish and Grit um festival in October and Hilton Head, but right now we focused on Christmas in July um because life is great and we want to start with what comes first. But we got a lot of stuff coming down the line and we're gonna continue to embrace these blessings with open arms. So whatever you do this weekend, make it fun, make it beautiful, make it memorable because that's what our loved ones will want us to do most of all. I hope y'all have an amazing amazing weekend and don't let nobody steal your joy. Oh yeah, update on the snake. Um again, the snake I think was brought in through an Amazon package cuz I don't keep my doors open.
I'm already scary enough. But I did get an Amazon package off the porch that sat there for a little while yesterday and it was by the Amazon box that I had opened but not pulled the stuff out because I saw what was in it and didn't need it right then. But anyh who, I think that's how the snake got in. Now I did freak out a whole lot cuz was on the phone um laughing cuz I was freaking out. She said I was speaking in tongues.
I don't know what I was saying. But anyh who, I sprayed the snake with some peppermint oil or some peppermint spray that's supposed to deter like bugs. We got these water bugs here that freak me out. I don't need them spiders, nothing in the house. So, I'm always spraying around the doors and the windows with this peppermint stuff because I love the smell and I'm terrified of everything.
Anywh who, I asked God to help me with that. That's why I'm able to garden a little bit even though I can only go out there like in my boots most of the time.
So, anyh who, the snake got in and I went crazy because when I sprayed it with the peppermint stuff, it wanted to come in the kitchen. That drove me nuts.
I got had a shovel and I chopped at it a couple times. I don't even know if I hit it or what. I don't know if it was the peppermint stuff that I don't even know if it was there. When my friend came and he took the snake out the house, I just stayed away and let him do his thing.
Um, I know that a woman got a place. I stayed in my place at that moment. I did what I could to keep the snake in confined. He got the snake out. This is teamwork and I appreciate him for that.
I was even like, "You want to go get you some breakfast?" Cuz I can't cook. Like my nerves too bad. And I was trying to work. And he was like, "No, I'm good. I got it." So, whatever. Snake got out the house. The day went on. We had 3D Viral Pastries. Um, I'm going tag my girl in Richmond Hill, which is next to Savannah that make these treats. Now, she got I think it's called a hot plate. you have to get on her list when she got open when she opened for um orders. Orders go really really fast.
Got my niece and cuz that's cuz it's niece but that's my niece and cuz we going to try these >> viral banana.
Banana always perfect.
I like when it's cold.
>> Shirts can be purchased for the sugarcane festival in January starting now. And I'll tag Ursula in that in this too. So you can purchase your shirts.
>> I forgot Chicken Man had been in the truck since we got home on Wednesday.
And Thor kept trying to tell me something, you know, I just couldn't really understand. But I finally figured out, oh, chicken man not here. Chicken man was in the truck. I got chicken man out of the truck. So, he was real unbothered by the snake and very excited about chicken man. So, yeah, that's how today went.
The snake is gone. and life go on. Y'all have a blessed weekend. Tomorrow is on to a new adventure. Um, new adventure.
>> When they lie on you, >> shake it off. WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT YOU, SHAKE IT OFF. WHEN THEY SAY YOU AIN'T GOING TO EVER BE NOTHING, SHAKE IT OFF.
AND PRETTY SOON, YOU WILL JUST WALK RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM AND SAY, "HOW YOU LIKE ME?"
GOD IS ABLE TO DO exceeding abundantly above all you can even ask of it. Door is open.
The kettle is on. Welcome back to Sherry's remedy room. The boy is excited. Today is Monday.
I hope y'all had an amazing weekend. I had to bring my mom's some people just open the door. I had to bring my mom's pizza liillies in because it get too hot in this sun room. Anywh who, I hope y'all are having an amazing week morning to the beginning of a new week, which is always a blessing.
I done ate all most all of the leaves off of my moringa. This moringa don't stand a chance. I see some more babies popping up down there. I left it in the pot cuz life got busy and it's still growing, still glowing. That's what I love about gardening is you don't have to be perfect out here and it's going to do its thing. It's going to give you food. And I was talking about this virus they got running around. You can't hardly eat no vegetables and no fruit. We need fruit and vegetables.
It's going to give you explosive diarrhea. Who got time for that? Nobody.
So, my yard man will be here this week.
Cut the grass, which has gotten crazy. I need to harvest some of my cayenne pepper um kale. I said I want to eat some kale this week. But anyh who, we going to talk about diabetes because all of the fruit and vegetables, well, majority of the fruit and vegetables that will help us control our blood sugar levels are caught up in this virus junk. What do we do to get around that? Of course, we grow our own food cuz God blessed us with seeds and knowledge and trials and tribulations to grow our own food. I'm not an expert gardener or anything, but I have learned along the way how to grow and raise my own food. Um, which is a journey that I love and I learned to embrace. Now, this week I got a lot of stuff I'm working on. So, it is a very busy week, but we gonna get stuff done.
I am getting ready to run to the post office to ship orders. Now, Mondays are hard for me. Um, I lost my mom on a Monday a few weeks ago and like yesterday um was rough because I couldn't call my mom and tell her about my little short weekend trip that I took or what's going on in life, you know, just normal girl chat.
And my sister-in-law, she lost her mom about two years ago. She said, "You talk to her. You know, it is different, but you still talk to her." Um, and I was like, "Yeah, I know." I was just having a moment. So, Mondays I play back five Mondays ago when mom woke up and she said, "I'm weak and I'm tired." And I said, "Well, you know, it's okay.
Whatever you feel like doing today, that's what we going to do. So, I'm here." I got myself comfortable on her recliner in her room right beside her.
And we talked and she started saying stuff like, "Go pay the taxes. Go buy the bank for me. Um, go to the store."
She liked this little Rolph market in Hopewell. She said, "Go to the store and get some chicken and get a onion." And I'm like, "Why am I getting a chicken and onion?" Cuz we got food. My nephew just made a big pot of soup, which was red. She was not happy about the red soup, Chris. But she was like, "Get some chicken. Get an onion. Go by the Dollar Tree and get me two cans of Lysol." She said, "Get two cans of Lysol. They $9 each." And I was like, "We got Lysol."
But I didn't want to challenge mom because I knew she didn't feel too well.
She was on hospice at that time and I was just like, well, whatever mom say, I'mma do it because that's her way of still being mom and doing her what she do. So, I called my brother. He came over and I left. I went on did what mom asked me to do. And when I got back, she said my cousin, my favorite person was there, which God know I needed him. And my brother went on and left. So, we sat there, talked for a few minutes, and mom said, "You do everything I asked you to do?" I said, "I did everything but take your money out the bank." I ain't take your money out the bank. I said, "But I did go by the bank and I talked to Leanne. She'll call me, blah, blah. I handled our business." I said, "But I did pay the taxes. I paid them up for the whole year." I said, "But don't worry about that, Mom. I use my money. I I use my card because my money is your money." And she said, "Excuse, it's hot outside." She said, "Well, my money is your money and this is your house and my car is your car." And I'm like, "Okay."
I never got it. I did not get it for some days. Finally, when after mom passed away, a few hours after that, I was thinking my mama was preparing me.
She was making sure our family home was taken care of. Um, like me painting and stuff, that's just stuff that I want to do. Like I could have moved in mom's house just how it was. Um, clean the carpet, that's stuff I want to do. Or change, put new flooring in, whatever. Mom kept her house good. But she wanted to make sure everything was in order. Her plans were in order. She wanted to make sure she had food for her kids because she always fed us. That was go and get the chicken and the onion. She wanted to make sure I kept that house clean because she kept talking about a virus and that's what she thought she had, a virus. Um, come to find out, three days before my mom passed away, we found out she had pancreatic cancer, stage four pancreatic cancer that had metastasized. Um, but I think about how God prepared her to prepare her six children. And it's just like, man, I was paying attention, but I didn't understand at the moment. So sometime we get signs and things happen or we go through things and right then we don't understand what it is but pay attention because later on you'll have this aha moment and it'll be like that's what it was. So Mondays I do a lot of reflecting and I think about how my mom was preparing me for life after her. She was building me up. She been building me up since day one um to be a strong woman, to be a woman of God um and to trust God. And that's what I still do.
So, here it is Monday. We going to talk about combating diabetes. Um, I'm going to finish packing these orders, get them to the post office, and keep it moving.
We going to talk about ancient grains, too, y'all, cuz we going to make pasta and bread and all this good stuff. Um, because it's time for me to get back into what I love, and that's my DIYs, homemade things, and all that good stuff. So, y'all have an amazing Monday.
The boy is so excited today. I don't know what he got going on, but yeah.
What you doing, boy? You okay? Huh? You happy today?
>> I don't know. Y'all have an amazing day and don't let nobody steal your joy.
>> Yep.
>> Go get it. Hurry up. Hurry up. Go, boy.
Go. You fast, boy. You fast. Oh, y you're so fast. Get him fast. Oh, what you doing? Huh? Go. Oh, yo. Hurry up, boy. Go. Oh, see. They are too big.
