Indian audiences had mixed reactions to Christopher Nolan's epic adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, with many praising its cinematography, sound mixing, and color grading, while others found it lengthy and disappointing; the film's complex narrative and practical storytelling approach contrasted with Nolan's other films like Tenet, which featured more abstract concepts like time reversal.

>> How did you like the >> It was lovely. Amazing.
>> Okay, so how did you like the film?
>> I felt like Odysseus. I just wanted to get home, but it felt like 20 years in there. I was really looking forward to a Christopher Nolan movie. I enjoyed his Dark Knight the [music] most. But, this was a very disappointing movie.
>> Uh I'm so sorry for that.
>> Thank you.
>> Oh, yeah. How did you like the film?
>> It's really great. If you know the story, Christopher Nolan has played it again very well. If you have read something, because he's not someone like Indian director who spoon-feeds you. You have to know the history of Troy, watch movie background. I just watched YouTube. The history is full of this only, the Greek story. The movie is great. Not for the people who was looking for war, but the people who are looking for genuine story.
>> You know, a lot of people said it's very lengthy. Do you think it's lengthy?
>> No, I dived into it. Not a single second felt me bored or anything like that. I loved the way >> Without giving spoilers, the last 30 minutes.
>> [music] >> I think I never cried or even while watching Titanic or anything, but I think I almost cried when Odyssey was ending. Yeah, that's really great.
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you so much for your time.
>> I just got done watching The Odyssey.
It's a great movie. I watched many of Nolan's films in the past. The latest ones being Dunkirk and [music] Tenet.
He does have this tendency to bring in a lot of like tropes where the audience doesn't quite understand what's going on. So, for example, in [music] Tenet, there was a lot of action about time reversal. You're you know, right? So, the time gets reversed.
[music] And you know, when the protagonist goes into the past or into the future to fight, the bullets don't quite fire in the right direction. The bullets [music] fire into the gun.
So, when So, that plays quite into the mechanics in in another many other of his films, you know, the unknownness of it quite plays into it.
This This was not like that. It was very practical. It was very It was well set.
It was well [music] done.
I did feel it got a bit slower towards the middle part of it, not towards the very ending, but towards the middle part of it during some of the action scenes, but overall, the redemption arc of the character, him coming back to to his kingdom from Troy after getting lost at sea, coming back, it was very great.
I love the movie. It was amazing. A lot of good action.
Robert Pattinson was amazing as always.
Pattinson >> Now, you know, about Nolan's films, what is that one thing you feel or you feel that only Nolan could do?
>> His His His sound mixing. His sound mixing is absolutely amazing. His filming is absolutely amazing. The color grading especially. The color grading of his movies, especially in Tenet and in Dunkirk and in Odyssey has been amazing.
The color grading. So, overall, I would say the the photography and the cinematography of it has been absolutely amazing.
>> I didn't expect something like this. It has been mixed reaction.
Everybody's going to like it just the way I did. But very interestingly, people are also finding it boring and feeling disappointed. But there are also people who are Nolan fans and they think it is a masterpiece. But what do you think? Have you watched it yet? No, please go and watch it and let me know in the comments below what you think about it.
