[00:00:01]Listen carefully. Every time you find yourself struggling to receive from God, do an honor check.

[00:00:12]Anytime you find yourself struggling to receive healing, answers, to receive favors and things from God, YOU'RE STRUGGLING, IT'S NOT FORTHCOMING, DO an honor check. There's dishonor somewhere.

[00:00:26]Jesus went to his hometown and could not do anything BECAUSE OF UNBELIEF. WHAT WAS UNBELIEF? Look at unbelief. Is this not the carpenter's son? Are these not his sisters?

[00:00:38]And they were offended. They they looked down on him. It's what I call the plague of familiarity.

[00:00:48]And where there is familiarity, there's a sense of entitlement.

[00:00:54]And anywhere there's a sense of entitlement, [music] anywhere you feel entitled, you lose respect and honor.

[00:01:05]Once you lose respect AND HONOR, YOU LACK THE ability to take.

[00:01:10]I didn't say God WILL NOT GIVE YOU. GOD HAS ALREADY GIVEN, BUT YOU HAVE TO RECEIVE. RECEIVING WILL BE THROUGH THE ARMS OF HONOR.

[00:01:21]Jesus told a man, "I WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE and heal your child." The man said, "I'm not worthy for you to come.

[00:01:28]Speak the word only."

[00:01:30]Jesus said, "This is faith."

[00:01:32]So, honor is faith.

[00:01:35]Faith is honor in action.

[00:01:40]When you function in honor, you receive.

[00:01:44]THE REASON WHY MANY BELIEVERS ARE NOT RECEIVING is because of familiarity. You get too used to your pastor. So, when he says, "Be blessed," you say, "Ah, yeah, amen."

[00:01:55]THEN YOUR PASTOR GOES TO A CHURCH THAT IS NOT used to him. He just THINKS SOME THINGS ARE HAPPENING. They are in honor.

[00:02:01]They have not been struck by the plague of familiarity.

[00:02:08]And that's a problem. BECAUSE WHAT YOU DON'T HONOR, you can't receive from.

[00:02:13]Jesus said, "He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet." The word name means office.

[00:02:22]In the position, in the authority of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet.

[00:02:28]You don't receive your pastor AS A FRIEND.

[00:02:31]YOU RECEIVE YOUR PASTOR AS A PROPHET.

[00:02:35]You receive him as the man God has set over you.

[00:02:39]There is order in the house of God. LET THINGS BE DONE DECENTLY. And And some of us in the Christocentric community, we lose a sense of orderliness. SO, WE HAVE THE MESSAGE, BUT WE DON'T SEE THE RESULTS. WHY DON'T YOU SEE THE RESULT?

[00:02:54]GRACE THAT YOU DON'T HONOR, PASTOR TOKUNBO was talking about GRACE THIS MORNING. GRACE THAT YOU DON'T HONOR, YOU CAN'T RECEIVE FROM.

[00:03:03]A woman was barren in the book of Kings.

[00:03:06]And Elijah was passing by. AND ONE DAY SHE SAID TO HER HUSBAND, "HUSBAND, I PERCEIVE ARE YOU ABOUT TO SHOW UP? I PERCEIVE THAT THIS MAN IS A HOLY MAN OF GOD THAT PASSETH BY US CONTINUALLY."

[00:03:28]"Let us put light, SO THAT EVERY TIME HE PASSES BY, HE WILL stay in this house."

[00:03:34]The husband agreed. They built a house for the prophet. So, Elijah would pass by the house. He would settle there, stay there.

[00:03:41]ONE DAY ELIJAH SAID TO HIS SERVANT, "WHAT SHALL WE DO FOR THIS WOMAN?"

[00:03:46]THE WOMAN HAD NO PRAYER REQUEST.

[00:03:48]THERE'S A PLACE YOU COME IN HONOR, WHERE YOUR PRAYER REQUESTS ARE REDUCED to thanksgiving.

[00:03:58]THE MORE PRAYER REQUESTS YOU HAVE, THE MORE DARKNESS YOU ARE CLOSER TO.

HE HAS HEALED YOU. NOW IT'S LEFT FOR YOU TO RECEIVE WHAT GOD HAS DONE. BUT YOU CANNOT RECEIVE WHAT GOD HAS DONE EXCEPT YOU ARE IN THE PLACE OF HONOR.

[00:04:41]And I found out that many times in our churches, many people don't get blessed because of dishonor.

[00:04:49]Familiarity.

[00:04:51]You get so used to your man of God that even when he lays hands on you, you are not expecting anything. And yet those hands have been laid on people who don't know him and healing, miracles, great things happen. And you wonder why. The Bible says, "And Jesus could there do no mighty miracles."

[00:05:05]This is Jesus himself. Paralyzed in his village.

[00:05:09]But he went to other places and things were happening. But he couldn't do it in his home.

[00:05:14]>> [music] >> And he said, "A prophet is without honor save in his own house."

[00:05:18]So they built a table. I mean a a chamber for the prophet. As they are passing by, the man is there. One day he said, "What shall we do for this woman?

[00:05:27]For the great care for which she cares for us."

[00:05:30]Ask her, "Should we introduce her to the government of our city?"

[00:05:34]She said, "No, I don't need anything, man of God. I didn't do this for something. I did it as worship."

[00:05:42]I didn't do it to get anything.

[00:05:44]I live among my people. If I need the government, I know all of them. I know how to get to them.

[00:05:51]Elijah said, "No, you can't honor us and go empty-handed. You've got to GO WITH SOMETHING. WHAT SHALL WE DO FOR THIS WOMAN FOR THE GREAT CARE FOR which she cares for us?"

[00:06:01]Then Gehazi said, "We've not heard the cry of a baby in this house."

[00:06:05]ELIJAH SAID, "SHUNAMMITE, COME HERE.

[00:06:08]BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR, ACCORDING TO THE TIME OF LIFE, YOU WILL CARRY YOUR BABY."

[00:06:13]SHE SAID, "DON'T LIE TO ME, MAN of God.

[00:06:18]I have accepted MY FAITH. I'VE AGREED THAT I WILL NEVER HAVE a baby.

And he looked at HER AND SAID, "SHUNAMMITE, IS IT WELL WITH YOU?" [screaming] SHE SAID, "IT IS WELL."

[00:07:06]THAT'S A WOMAN IN FAITH.

[00:07:08]I'M NOT MOVED BY THE CIRCUMSTANCES. I'M NOT MOVED BY THE THINGS I see. I AM LIKE ABRAHAM, CALLING THE THINGS THAT BE NOT AS THOUGH THEY WERE. ABRAHAM HOPING AGAINST HOPE, STAGGERING NOT AT THE PROMISE OF GOD THROUGH UNBELIEF, BUT WAS STRONG in faith, GIVING GLORY TO GOD, BEING CONFIDENT OF THIS THING, THAT FAITHFUL IS HE WHO PROMISED, WHO WAS ABLE ALSO TO PERFORM. I FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY UNDER THE SOUND OF MY VOICE, THERE'S A PERFORMANCE TAKING PLACE FOR YOU RIGHT NOW.

[00:07:51]She said, "Man of God, my child, the one I told you not to raise my hopes is dead."

[00:08:03]The prophet said, "No, IT'S NOT POSSIBLE.

[00:08:10]The mantle couldn't work in his hand because Gehazi was in dishonor.

[00:08:18]His heart was so wrong that he could not receive that that grace. WATCH THIS.

[00:08:24]WHEN ELISHA DIED, THERE WAS NOBODY TO TAKE his mantle.

[00:08:30]He went to the grave with it.

[00:08:33]THAT'S WHY WHEN A CHILD DIED AND THEY BROUGHT THE PERSON TO THE DEAD BONES OF ELIJAH, THE PERSON CAME BACK BECAUSE THAT ANOINTING WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE GRAVE. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TRANSFERRED, BUT THE GUY TO RECEIVE IT HAD A wrong heart condition.

[00:08:50]When your heart condition is wrong, when your heart position is wrong, it will affect your service.

[00:08:58]It will even affect your understanding of scripture.

[00:09:05]You'll be reading the scripture with an agenda.

[00:09:08]>> [cheering] >> YOU'LL BE WORSHIPPING GOD WITH AN AGENDA.

[00:09:14]Everything will be with an agenda.

[00:09:17]And you think you're smarter THAN GOD.

[00:09:20]YOU FORGET THAT GOD LOOKETH AT THE HEART.

[00:09:22]MAN LOOKETH AT THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE.

[00:09:25]GOD IS A GOD OF KNOWLEDGE. BY HIM, motives and intents ARE WEIGHED.

[00:09:33]YOU CANNOT RECEIVE FROM GRACE THAT YOU DON'T HONOR.

[00:09:39]YOU WANT TO DO GREAT THINGS. YOU WANT TO EXCEL. YOU WANT GOD TO USE YOU. YOU'VE GOT TO BE IN A PLACE OF HONOR.

[00:09:47]SUBMIT YOURSELF UNDER THE mighty hand of God.

[00:09:52]Mighty hand. Apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher.

[00:10:00]And he shall exalt you in due season.
