And according to our local Jacksonville news reports, this veteran says that the VA found a abnormal lymph node and later described the breast mass as, I don't know, probably benign, which means abnormal but normal, not cancerous. But she kept fighting because she knew something was wrong within her own body. Something didn't feel right. And months later, after symptoms became so unbearable that she continued to push for more testing.

This is why the Veteran Cancer Network is pushing for better follow-up care, early cancer detection conversations, and for the system to listen to veterans when they say something's not right with their body.
