Singapore Shocked Us… We Didn’t Expect This!Añadido:
Most cities have a few cool tourist spots. Singapore has a city full of them. And each one is bigger, weirder, and more over the top than anything we've seen before. Giant indoor rainforests, a nighttime zoo safari, gardens that look like they're from another planet, and the coolest airport on Earth. So, we spent a few days doing it all, and we'll figure out what's worth it, what's not. Come with us on this adventure.
Singapore is known as the garden city and I can see why because there's greenery everywhere. There's greenery on the side of the highways. There's greeneries coming off the skyscrapers.
They've even built their own sci-fi botanical gardens called Gardens by the Bay. It's which one of the main reasons we wanted to come and explore the city.
Gardens by the Bay is huge and some of it you have to pay for, some of it is open to the public. They opened it in 2012 and it cost a billion dollars to build.
>> First up, we're going into the Cloud Forest, which is basically like a rainforest mountain inside of a dome.
And it's meant to represent rainforest and high elevation, I guess. And for me, I'm excited because I've always wanted to go inside of a bioddome, just like the movie, and live out my own bioddome fantasy. So, let's go. Well, this biodome might have some dinosaurs.
>> Oh my god. Really?
>> Yes.
>> Oh my god. Wait, now I'm scared.
>> Just kidding. So, they theme the cloud dome seasonally to different properties.
Right now, it's Jurassic World.
Okay, this is incredible. Not only is there a waterfall and a mountain in a dome, but there's two long necked dinosaurs, but this is like so beautiful. So, when we're doing our international trips, Kitra and I always have problems getting photos together cuz we don't want to ask a stranger to take a photo with their phone cuz we're introverts. So, this trip, I got this.
It's like a selfie stick. You extend it, you hit it on the ground, turns it into a tripod. You can put your phone right on it. Oh, don't do that. put your phone right on it and then this comes out and it's a Bluetooth remote and then it takes the photos for you. And we got some cool photos right in front of the bronosaurus.
>> It was funny. This girl walking by, she just looked at me and she was like I like felt really embarrassed. But hey, our photos for now are really good. So whatever. Jokes on them. I love how close you can get to the waterfall.
>> I was just reading that the waterfall here is 35 m tall, which makes it one of the biggest in the world. I think the biggest in the world might actually be in Singapore. That's at the airport, which we'll see when we're flying home.
>> The funniest thing about this is they have all these noises in here. I'm assuming like the sounds of the rainforest, but then every now and again you hear like a dinosaur walking around or like roaring. It sounds real. I could hear like dinosaurs roaring in the background. We just came across a whole pod of those little dinosaurs from Jurassic Park 2. Love them. So cute. But make sure you don't feed the dinosa. By the way, if you look up, >> I think that's a walkway that we're going to go on.
>> Oh my god, this place is really cool.
There's animatronics in here.
>> Did you know about that?
>> I didn't.
>> There's a giant T-Rex and he's moving.
Whoa.
I don't know what I'm more impressed with, the Cloud Forest or the Jurassic World Dinosaur.
>> Both. This is just the perfect environment to have Jurassic World.
Like, this is so cool.
>> It should be permanent. Like, it feels like a space to be.
>> This is exceeding my expectations.
There's a fulls size T-Rex.
>> He even has a big tail.
>> Yeah. Okay, let's go up to the evolution walk. Okay, >> so I just looked it up. There's 72,000 plant species in this bioddome, and it's the size of one and a half football fields.
>> So, a few years ago, we went to this traveling Jurassic World exhibit, and I think a lot of these animatronics are from that, and that was such a cool experience. But it's even cooler in this environment. Like when we saw it, it was like just in like this pop-up tent and it was awesome. But this is like another level.
>> We just came across another one of those long neck dinosaurs and I just realized that you can actually go up to his level.
>> It's going to be interesting to see the perspective from up there.
>> Yeah.
finally reached the skywalk. Are you scared to look down?
>> Uh, yeah. It's kind of higher up than I was anticipating, but it's really cool.
I feel like I'm one with nature up here.
So, I was looking out into the distance beyond the Super Trees, and we got a glimpse of the Disney Adventure, the brand new Disney cruise ship. It is huge. Like, you could see her from a mile away. And she looks good.
>> I can't express to you how incredible this place is. Like, there's literally a mountain here.
How did they do that?
>> I don't know. They spent, would you say, like a billion dollars making this place? That's how >> a billion dollars in five years. So, basically, it's like Galaxy's Edge.
>> I love that they even have the little incubators for the dinosaur eggs and the baby dinos. And if you look in there, they're actually moving and like breathing. It's so good.
>> Now, we're walking inside the mountain, and it turns out it's not real after all. It's hollow. It has holes to the outside world.
I feel deceived.
At certain times throughout the day, they actually turn on these misters to make it feel more like a rainforest. And they all just turned on. But look how cool it looks. It's like all over all the way up there. This is I I hope this is coming across on video cuz like it's really cool to be here. You just need to see it in person.
>> Can you believe that we were walking on that just a few minutes ago?
>> Yeah. I don't like looking up at it. I didn't like looking down and I don't like looking up cuz that's that's crazy looking.
>> I don't know how I didn't notice this before, but right in front of the mountains there's actually some pterodactyls flying.
There it is.
>> That is cool. Especially the mist. The mist makes everything look even more cinematic. Like the T-Rex and the mist.
It look It looks like a movie.
All right, Zerma. So, I want you to stand in the middle here. Very nice.
Okay. So, Zerma, two things. Okay.
Number one, always make sure that you are always looking at Blue. Number two, I need you to take your hand, just put it out in front of you like this. Good.
And I need you to say, "Eyes on me, Blue." Hey.
And of course, like any place else, you exit through the gift shop.
>> I love that you could buy plushies of super trees and it says super treat.
>> They have keychains and you get your letter with the super tree. Yours is purple.
>> You know what? my whole life. Whenever there's been little souvenirs that have names on them, I've never been included because I have such a unique name.
>> Oh my god. They actually sell a miniature of Gardens by the Bay. It's $5,600 Singaporean dollars. How much is that in America?
>> So that's only $4,382 USD.
>> Yeah. The question is, is this a garden by the bay for ants?
>> You stole my good one.
Next up, we're going to the Flower Dome, which is basically this massive cooled flower conservatory. It actually has the Guinness Book of World Record for the world's largest greenhouse, and it's like the size of 75 Olympic swimming pool, so it's pretty huge.
>> You weren't kidding. This place is huge.
But I will say, first impressions, it's not as impressive as the place that we just went to, but it's still cool and air conditioned. So, when I was a kid, for whatever reason, in my hometown, it was covered in these types of flower.
And I used to go around like pinching the bulbs before they would bloom.
>> Why were you a jerk when you were a kid?
>> Cuz look at them. They're so pinchable.
Don't do that. But like I'm so tempted here. They have them just like hanging over the edge.
>> Don't do it.
>> I'm not going to. But is it just me? You never pinched any bulbs or any what would you call them? Whatever. Anyway, >> no. Okay.
>> So, I got to be honest with you. I don't think this is nearly as cool as the first thing we did today. This is more of like a botanical garden where you just like look at all the flowers and it's calm and it's >> Yeah, there's no dinosaurs in here.
Unfortunately, they should have put just one dinosaur in here like and hit it and you just hear like random >> Well, they did say they're between seasonal events. So, I think they do that kind of thing here where they put like an IP in here to get to sell tickets. Yeah, but we just came here at like a in between time.
>> Yeah. And I I think this the tickets for this are the same as the place we just went. So I would say do that over at this.
>> These statues over here remind me of the movie Annihilation. If you know, you know.
>> So right here is an olive tree and right next to it is someone that looks suspiciously like Pooh and Piglet. So 12 of the 18 super trees are located in Super Tree Grove. And basically the super trees are these futuristic avatar looking trees. And it's actually free to wander around here, take some photos, but if you actually want to go up one of the super trees, you have to pay money.
There's two different tickets you can buy. One of them brings you up to the observation tower on top of one of the tallest trees. And the other one is the skyway, which lets you take this bridge from tree to tree. And I think they're both different experiences, and I'm not sure which is better. So we bought tickets to both.
>> So these super trees aren't just giant sculptures. They're actually living and breathing with plants all interwebbed in them. And I got to say, I've always wanted to see these ever since I saw the photo of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey here. So, I feel like I'm I'm living out my Swifty fantasy right now.
>> This reminds me of Epcot.
>> Yeah.
>> Are we about to go on Spaceship Earth?
So, this is the observation one, and I got to say, it's pretty cool. I love looking out into the ocean here and seeing all of the cargo ships in the Disney Adventure. And then the opposite way, you have a good view into the city.
We're not really that high up, but it is really cool to look down and see like all the gardens and to see all the other super trees. And also, I could see a storm rolling in. So, fingers crossed it doesn't start raining soon.
I think we're like 16 stories up. And it's funny because we're powering over the other super trees and they look so much smaller in comparison.
>> They do.
>> Over there you can actually see the cloud forest dome that we were in earlier today. It's interesting up here they also have solar power.
>> So they're they're making some energy.
>> Yeah. They also have like a a weather machine thing. I'm guessing that's what that is. And then a lightning rod. So I feel safe up here cuz there's a lightning rod. Well, if the lightning What if it hit like right there?
>> If all these trees have lightning rods, they must, right?
>> Probably. Right there is the Marina Bay Sands. This is one of the most iconic famous hotels in the world. We're going to be staying there in a couple days.
I'm excited cuz they have like a rooftop pool up there.
How insane is that? It looks like a surfboard on top of three towers. So, underneath the rooftop deck is actually the observatory where you're actually in the branches of the tree of the super tree. And you have some obstructions, but I feel like it's even a cooler view.
>> Yeah. And then I'm looking down at like the sky walkway thing. I think the only difference with that is it's just like lower. This is just a tad bit higher.
But yeah, I like the view from this area better than the very top, actually.
>> And it's cool. They actually have a key here showing you all the stuff that you're looking at. So, if you didn't know that was the cloud forest right there, it tells you.
>> So, there's even this little indoor area where you could get yourself a coffee or a beer or a box of water, whatever you want. And they have like little chocolates and stuff as well. So, it's nice. You could sit in here and kind of look out. I'm not sure if there's a bathroom, though. So, I would probably go to the bathroom before coming up here. You know me, I always got to know where the closest bathroom is.
Okay. You know what? Hot take. I think I might like this one better already cuz there's no like obstructed views. You're not as high.
>> Yeah. Or below the branches if that makes sense.
>> But I kind of like that. It feels like you're more in the forest.
And if you have like if you're scared of heights or you have vertigo, this one.
Although this one is a little bit shaky.
I could feel people walking around.
>> Oh, wow. Look at that view.
>> Yeah, this is pretty.
>> Yeah, I think this is the best bet. If you're going to spend your money for observatory here at Gardens by the Bay, this is the one to do.
>> Although both are cool.
>> Yeah, there's no cafe on this one, though.
>> Are those real noises?
>> I think so.
Sounds like there's like monkeys in the trees or birds. I don't know what that noise was. Dinosaur.
>> Look at the flowers on this super tree.
So, we are 22 m above the garden and this whole thing spans 128 m and it's all suspended by these cables. So, it is kind of shaking in the wind a little bit, which is kind of scary.
>> You know what? I'm trying not to think about it. So, I got to bring it up. I didn't even think about the cable thing until you said that. Now, I can't unsee it. It like kind of shakes back and forth a little bit. Feel that?
>> I'm surprised they don't have one of those like glass floor. Like this would be even scarier if it was all glass.
But, you know, I like this. This is really fun. It's so hard to take a photo though up here because like even at the widest angle, you can't fit everything in the frame.
>> Yeah. Wow. It's like shaking.
>> When you stand still is when it's bad.
You just got to keep walking.
>> This is kind of moving. Well, I stood over here cuz I like keep hearing that monkey and I wanted to see if I could find it, but >> I think it's just fake noises.
>> Do you?
>> Yeah.
>> Really?
>> There's less people up here because there's a storm coming in and they're telling people to have tickets like if you come up here and the storm happens, they're going to have to evacuate and then you can't come back up. So, we were like, "Uh, you only have like a 15-minute time limit to do this anyway, so like what's the chances?"
>> Yeah. They were like, "There's no refunds." We're like, "Oh, okay."
>> It's kind of ridiculous. Wow. This is really >> Yeah. It's very I'm like trying to hold the camera steady.
>> Wow.
>> And it it feels like I'm on a cruise ship right now.
>> It does.
Singapore is kind of like Orlando where in the afternoon it just starts raining out of nowhere. So, we ran inside to their food court which is called the Jurassic Nest. And I thought this was going to be lightly themed to Jurassic World because of the thing they're doing over there, but no. It seems like year round this is a dinosaur themed food hall. Yeah, it's almost like Rainforest Cafe. Every 30 minutes, the dinosaurs come to life. That really took me by surprise. I was not expecting it.
I thought they were just statues, but some of them are actually animatronics.
And what I love, like, we've seen so many dinosaurs today. Like, I wasn't expecting that. But if you wanted to come here and just walk around the super trees and you don't you don't want to pay to go see the Jurassic World thing, you could literally just do that. Come to come here, get like the bootleg version.
>> Yeah. and have a good time.
>> I love that they have like these cute little Jurassic dinosaur chairs and stuff to sit in.
>> I know.
>> Oh my god.
There's just this random baby floating in the middle of the gardens. Uh, >> it's art. Look it up, >> I guess. Yeah, I guess so. I don't know.
It's kind of creeping me out, but I like it.
>> I like how he's like floating.
>> Yeah, it looks like he's like in the womb. So, >> the rain has stopped and we're now making our way to the next destination.
I just want to say Gardens by the Bay is gigantic. I think most people think of it as the super trees and those two glass domes, but it's it's like almost a gigantic central park and it's filled with like these interesting strange art pieces. So, the final ticketed thing that we did at Gardens by the Bay is called Floral Fantasy and they changed out the theme here I think probably yearly. A couple years back they had a Disney theme. Right now they have My Little Pony. And this is kind of not a botanical garden. This is like bouquets of flowers artfully presented, colorful, floating in the air above you.
>> It's for me like it felt very Instagram worthy. Do I think we should have spent our money on it? Probably not. But like if it's an IP that you care about, like if you love My Little Pony or whatever's in here for next time, like if it was Disney, maybe I would >> think it was worth it.
But it just, you know, it's obviously aimed towards little kids. And I don't know, it was pretty to to look at and it was nice and air conditioned in there.
But I would say like so far today, like the two main things I would really recommend here is the cloud forest dome and then also one of the the super tree things.
>> I would do both of the super tree things, honestly.
>> But like this one you could probably skip.
>> Yeah.
>> A big thank you to Ultimate Replenisher for sponsoring this video. As you know, when we aren't filming, I've been trying to make healthier choices in my everyday routine. And one of the big ones for me is drinking more water and less soda.
But to be honest with you, I find it hard to drink water all the time. I want something that feels fun to drink. I crave something with flavor. And that's where Ultima comes in. Ultima is an electrolyte mix made for daily hydration. It's not just for intense workout. has all six key electrolytes your body uses every day with zero sugar, zero calories, zero carbs, no artificial sweeteners. I just add a stick pack to a bottle with lots of ice and water. Shake it up really well. It becomes this colorful refreshing drink that feels way more fun than plain water. All the flavors are actually good. My favorite so far are the grape and the strawberry margarita mock tea.
They're sweet, they're refreshing, and honestly, it makes it way easier for me to reach for water instead of soda. Head to the link in the description below to stay hydrated with Ultima Replenisher or scan the QR code right on screen and use our code ordinary adventures 20 to get 20% off your order thanks to Ultimate Replenisher. And now back to our adventure. We made our way back to the Super Tree Grove where every night they have a light show on the Super Trees.
Happens at 7:45 and 8:45 p.m. I would advise get there early. I'm here about an hour early and most of the seats are taken up, but of course you can stand.
There's a lot of room to stand and I think the theme for it, the music changes monthly. Right now it's like opera in the garden.
>> So the sun is finally set and the lights have turned on and it looks even more magical and beautiful than it did during the day and it's not as humid anymore.
So bonus.
You got you got The show is very pretty. I don't think it's going to come across on video because we can't show the whole thing.
It's like 15 minutes long set to music.
>> It's good that it's like a free thing you can do in Singapore.
>> Mhm.
>> But there isn't a lot to it. There's not There's only so much you can do with lights on trees.
>> Yeah. And Peter was saying I think like once a month they change it up. So that's cool. You could come here 12 months out of the year and see something different. But that being said, when we saw it, it was like all classical music and it was beautiful. I love classical music, but I I wished it was like something a little bit more upbeat. But it was gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
And we had like the perfect spot.
>> How cool would it have it been if they timed it with the Disney adventure and had like Disney music?
>> Yeah. I thought you were going to say like how cool would it have been if it was like Taylor Swift's greatest hits.
>> We get it. She was here once.
>> Yeah. And it's all I can think about. I was trying to pull up the video to show Peter, but then the show started and I had I didn't have good enough service.
He's like, I don't care. Why are you trying to show me? But anyways, that was a great way to end a night.
>> Yeah, it was fun. It It's worth seeing for sure.
>> Yeah.
Today we're here at the Rout Tea Gardens, but we're not here for tea.
We're actually going to eat at one of the most beautiful McDonald's in the whole world. So, not only is this McDonald's beautiful, but there's this whole little pond area in front of it filled with turtles. I initially just saw one and I was like, "Oh, a turtle."
And then the more I looked, there's like literally hundreds of turtles. They're everywhere. They're all sunbathing on the rocks and they're swimming around in the water. And that just makes me so happy. I wonder if they get fed like McDonald's French fries.
>> What other McDonald's in the world has a turtle garden?
>> I don't know. But this is great.
>> Hey, turtle.
Hey, turtle. As you know, when we travel internationally, we like to try out the favorite dishes from each country, but we also like to stop at an American favorite and see what is different from the states. Of course, there's McDonald's all over the city, but we found out about this one from our friends Views and Q's, and we had to come.
>> We decided to come grab a seat right outside by the turtles because we had to. I mean, when are we ever going to be back here?
>> Is this the most beautiful McDonald's seat ever?
>> I think so. Just don't feed the turtles.
By the way, when I was walking across the bridge and trying to take some video of the turtles, they came swimming over.
So, you know, people actually feed them the fries. You're not supposed to.
There's a sign over there says, "Don't feed the turtles." I got myself the sweet paprika burger with egg and cheese. This features a crispy spiced chicken patty with fried egg, melted cheese, tangy hydr mayo on a toasted bun, and it even looks like there's some lettuce in there as well. It's funny that they call this a burger when it's actually fried chicken. This is so good.
The fried chicken is really crunchy. The paprika that's sprinkled on the fried chicken, I thought at first was mild, but it really creeps off on you. I had to grab myself some Coke Zero to wash it down because the spice is like bit spicier than you'd get in America.
Honestly, I'd love to see they them bring this over to America. I think the American palette this might be a little bit too spicy, but I'd give it like a four out of five. So, I'm going to try the buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich.
This comes with white cheddar cheese, grilled pineapple, purple cabbage, and black pepper mayo. This looks so good with the pineapple on there. They had so many interesting chicken options. Not that many unique like burger options, but a lot of good chicken stuff. So, I'm already a fan of like McDonald's crispy chicken sandwiches. They're usually one of my go-tos, but this just elevates it.
You have this sweet pineapple and then the cabbage just adds like a little bit of a a texture in there, but the sauce is so good. It's not spicy. It's really like a mild kind of creamy sauce, almost like a ranch dressing. And you know that I love ranch. This might be one of the best international McDonald's things that I've ever tried. Like this would this would be my go-to. This gets a five out of five from me.
We also saw that they had spicy chicken tenders on the menu, so I had to get some of those with the curry sauce. And I have a feeling this is going to be like an elite combo. Oh yeah, look at that. So the spicy chicken tender by itself. Absolutely amazing. Actually spicy, which I like. And I don't know what it is about the quality of the chicken over here, but it's so good. But when you combine it with that curry sauce, it almost reminds me of when we went to Sauté Street and we got like that the peanut sauce.
>> Yeah. Really?
>> And it was like spicy. That's like kind of what it tastes like to me. There's like a hint of curry there, but it's like a peanut curry. Maybe I'm crazy.
You should try it. But this gets a five out of five.
>> So, we ended up getting two meals. And with a meal, you can get French fries or a side salad or corn, which comes with whipped butter. I don't think I've ever seen the whipped butter package from McDonald's. Is that in America? I don't know. But basically, it just tastes like corn. That's good.
You know, when there's a seasonal McFlurry, we have to try it. They have the mandarin orange McFlurry that comes with Oreo.
And it looks interesting.
>> It looks like Halloween.
>> It does. Only have like purple Oreos.
Okay, let's try this. I'm not sure if I'm going to like this because I'm not an a citrus orange person, but you know what I am? I'm a connoisseur of McFlurryries and I'm a connoisseur of Oreos. Every time there's a new Oreo, I have to go try it out. It's way too orangey. I don't know. I feel bad giving this a bad review because I feel like it's just not for me.
>> So, I think the problem with this is it's just too much. Like, the flavor is good, but I think in small doses. So, I also had to try one of the fried pies. I got the luchi one because that sounded more exciting to me. But look at that.
It's like definitely deep fried.
>> I don't think you're going to like this one either. So, the crust of this is amazing. It's so good. This has those luchi jellies in it and they're like a really strong flavor. It almost tastes like dish soap to me. So, I think like if you like luchi, you'll probably love this. But, I feel like for us, we probably would have enjoyed the apple one more. Imagine if they had a durian a durian fried pie.
>> Imagine if they had a durian fan pie.
>> Oh, it's not for me.
So, today we're going to the Mundai Wildlife Reserve and this is basically the Walt Disney World of Zoos. They have five different parks. They have the Rainforest Wild Asia, Singapore Zoo, Rivers Wonders, Bird Paradise, and the Night Safari. We're going to two of those. First, starting with Rivers Wonders.
>> The murals are so cute. We're not even inside yet.
>> You think we're going to meet them?
>> I hope so. Remember when you call those a Chupacabra?
>> What are they?
>> Capy Barra.
>> Capiara, I think.
So, River Wonders is a zoo based around all the different rivers around the world, like the Amazon, the Nile River.
So, a bunch of different habitats and a bunch of different critters that I can't wait to see.
Imagine swimming in a river and that was just in the water. That's the biggest fish I've ever seen in my entire life.
So, this is going to sound really ignorant, but I didn't know there were such pretty fish in rivers. For some reason, I thought rivers just had like ugly fish like salmon and stuff. I mean, obviously other stuff besides salmon, but like these fish are they look like tropical fish that you'd find in the ocean.
>> It's hard to gauge the scale of these unless you're here in person. They're like this big.
>> Yeah, >> they're huge.
Oh, I hate that. I absolutely hate that.
>> So, this park is set up into different lands representing parts of the world.
Right now we're in India and there's some kind of croc behind us. There's less than 200 of them in the world. It has the creepiest notes.
>> It is so creepy. I mean, I love him.
>> I think my favorite part is to see how they've recreated habitats. Like this one has turtle and fish swimming below the water. Above it is some monkeys. And who doesn't like some monkeys?
Yeah, they blend in. I don't like that they blend in. So, we saw our first panda and it's so cute because he's like munching on some food right now and he's eating bamboo and it's like comically loud. Every time he takes a bite, it's like and almost it doesn't feel real.
Like it looks just like a human like in a bear suit, right?
>> Yeah. It's funny. He had a bunch of bamboo on like this log and he reached for it and it all fell.
>> Yeah, pandas are like so clumsy and cute. When I was younger, I always wanted to be like a zookeeper, but specifically like for pandas. I feel like that'd be the most fun job.
>> That's me when I go to the buffet at Vegas.
Adult panda eats 20 kg of bamboo a day.
That's the weight of 100 bowls of rice.
>> He was so happy eating that bamboo. So cute when he like picked it all up with his feet. Oh, I love it.
>> By the way, I feel like if we weren't in Asia and we were in America, that would have been like it's this much hamburgers. Yeah.
>> So, as cool as River Wonders is, the main reason we came to the park was not fish, was not monkeys, was not pandas.
They have a boat ride that we've seen video of for years, and we've always wanted to come here. I've been waiting for this for like years.
>> It's like my two favorite things, a zoo and a theme park ride.
>> Are there drops in this?
>> I don't know.
>> Is there Is there a drop?
>> I don't know.
Oh, this is cool.
>> I wasn't expecting that.
Oh, >> okay. This is amazing.
>> Question is, are we actually going to see any animals?
>> Oh my god, what are those?
They're pigs.
>> Worth hogs.
>> They're so cute. And they even have monkeys in the trees.
>> Are those lemurs or monkeys?
>> He's looking down at us.
>> I know.
>> He like wants to jump.
>> Don't do it.
>> He's like living with the lamb type music.
>> Greeting explorers and welcome to Amazon River Quest. Now entering the land of the giants. Do you see something large to your left and right?
>> With his distinct narrow head, bushy tail, and long snout. It's almost impossible to miss the giant egg.
>> He's back there from predators.
>> I like that this goes slow enough for you to actually see.
>> Yeah. Oh my god. Is there another drop?
>> Peter, you didn't tell me there was drops in this.
Oh my in the corner >> sleeping wake up >> cotton top tamarind >> where >> cotton top where >> right there was a cotton top >> oh peeping he's going peeping Oh my god.
>> Watch out for jaguars.
>> It's behind glass. But still Jaguars hunt.
>> That's cool.
>> That was cool. That was cool.
>> The jaguars diet includes peckeries, capiaras, and even tapers.
>> Don't eat the capy bars.
We're about to enter the cave of the jaguar. Jaguars are the largest apex founding on the flamingos curve big at the scene.
>> Of course, they got flamingos.
>> 45 kg.
>> Scientists still don't know why they sleep on one one foot >> like in a bird area. This snapshot of the Amazon inspires you. Choose rainforest friendly products.
>> Hope they don't poop on us.
>> I don't think they'll poop on us.
>> There's only a couple above us.
>> Keep your mouth closed. Oh, the copy bear.
>> Yeah, >> that's so cute. That >> was great.
>> I think we have hit the end.
>> That was great.
>> Okay, so that was so much cooler than I could have possibly imagined. There was so many animals. We went on it a few times. You saw different animals each time. I kind of wish Disney would build this attraction in Disney's Animal Kingdom.
>> I know. It was so fun. So, it's $5 extra on top of the cost to get in here, but you could ride it as many times as you want. Yeah.
>> Which, you know, we we rode it what, like three or four times, >> and I wanted to keep going, but like they close in a few minutes, so like we couldn't. But that was so much fun. My favorite part, I mean, I love the little drops, but I obviously I love seeing the animals, but they played this they played music and it reminded me of living with the land. Like it was like this very like peaceful like music, which I was not expecting.
>> You know, they have other stuff here. We didn't show you. There's this show that they have where you get to get up close with a capyara. You get to get up close with a turtle. You could skip those to be to be completely honest with you, but come here to this park for that boat ride.
>> Yeah, that lived up to all my expectations. It was so peaceful, so much fun.
>> Everybody come on.
>> We found the manatee tank. It's huge.
And there's a bunch of manatees in there. And they're like twirling around, swimming around, having so much fun.
There's also like giant giant fish in there. We've seen so many giant fish today. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish like what is the manatee and what is a giant fish until they get close to you.
Heat. Heat.
Another thing that's in the same complex here is called the night safari. And we were told this is a musto when in Singapore. Basically, it's a zoo at night with a safari.
>> River Wonders is a little bit of a confusing cell because it's not quite an aquarium. But night safari I think is cool because it's so hot in Singapore all day that it's an activity that you can only do at night and it's like cooler.
>> So the only other night safari that I've ever done is at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Remember when they tried to do that night safari and it wasn't the best?
>> They kind of tried to retrofit the normal daytime safari with a couple lights and all the animals were like sleeping away. You you didn't really see much.
>> Yeah. What's different about this is it's all nocturnal animals. So, all the animals were out and about. They were lively and it was a long safari. It was over 30 minutes. There was like one point when I thought it was done and then it kept going.
>> Yeah. I think the key thing here is they built this park with it being in mind to be only for night safaris. So, they had these light structures in every single section that imitated moonlight. And it out of the footage I'm sure you're seeing it right now. The footage that I captured from my camera of some of these animals was like incredible. And also we got to see them super up close. There was like some elephants, the bull elephant.
>> Yeah, the tigers were so beautiful. I really liked that a lot.
>> Yeah, >> we decided to do that first because the line was long and we wanted to get it done and I I think it was totally worth it cuz it was a long experience. Yeah, I this is one of those things that everybody says if you come to Singapore, you got to do. And sometimes when you hear that, it ends up being touristy and it's like more hype than it actually is.
I think this is totally worth going to.
>> Yeah, I want to do it again, but I don't think we have time. So, I think you could theoretically write it twice if you wanted.
>> Oh, you could ride as many times as you want.
>> Yeah, but we have some other stuff that we want to go check out.
>> I do have one negative.
The the voice of the narrator is pre-recorded. It's not like your tour guide. And I I kind of love how at Animal Kingdom there's a live person there to point out stuff because at certain points you can't see where things are. Also here they have a couple other things. So they have a trail that you can walk and actually see some of the animals that you see on the night safari. We're going to do that right now. And they also have some animal encounters that you can pay extra for.
We paid extra for one. So let's let's get on our way and check out that.
>> We just made our way onto our first trail. And it's kind of scary out here.
It's dark. It's like very dark. And I get it. We, you know, the animals are, they don't need a lot of light in their face, but it is kind of scary. I'm not going to lie.
>> Walabe walkth through. I don't know why I'm scared. Okay.
>> They don't want the walabbee getting away apparently. Yeah, we just walked through a cave. That was kind of cool.
>> Yeah, that was really cool. It felt like Indiana Jones.
>> What is that right there?
>> It's a sugar glider.
Almost looks like a furry bat or something. It >> does.
>> It's so cute. It's so little.
>> Down in the wall of bees.
>> So dark.
>> I think the eerie thing is that it's so quiet out here.
>> Yeah. And like it's wet because it keeps raining and there's like lightning and but now we're trying to find a Tasmanian devil aka my dog Gizmo.
See, they have that nice moonlight, but sometimes it's like really hard to find.
It's like almost like playing Weer's Waldo. Is it a frog or is that Tasmanian Devil?
>> You know what my favorite game was for the Sega Genesis? There was like this Tasmanian Devil game and it was so hard.
>> The Warner Brothers character.
>> Yeah.
>> You would just like spin around and I don't think I ever beat the first level because I was I was confusing.
>> I think I see them in in their cage here. It's hard to see through. So, it's like, is that the Tasmanian devil?
>> I don't know. It said there was also a marsupial. That might be the marsupial.
I don't know.
>> Instead of hanging out in this habitat, he's hanging out in this like nice little cage.
>> Yeah, >> it's probably a Oh, there is AC. That's why all this um >> Yeah.
>> condensation.
>> So, when I used to take care of uh the lemurs, they had a room like this and we put sawdust on the ground just like this and they loved being in that little room. So, I get it, man. It's too hot outside.
>> Oh, look at him.
>> Okay, we found one of the Tasmanian devils.
He does not want to face us.
>> This one is called an athletic devil.
>> Athletic devil. Doesn't look very athletic today. So, that's cool. On the trail, you get to see a lot of stuff that isn't on the tram, but you also get to walk by some of the stuff that is on the trail.
>> What is that? Are those animals or bugs?
Oh, I hear hissing now. That's This is terrifying.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. We got to get going. We have to make it to the rhinos. We have 20 minutes to get there and we don't know where we're going.
>> So, one of the upcharge experiences that they offer is you can feed an Indian rhino and we're going to do that right now.
>> What?
>> He's right there. He's hungry.
>> Oh. Oh my goodness.
>> He's so cute. Look at his little teeth.
Oh, okay. More. Oh, yum.
>> I think whatever money we paid for this is well worth it.
>> How old?
>> 9 years old.
>> Nine. Oh, >> my goodness. You're just a baby.
>> Okay, that was awesome. So, I've fed giraffes before. I've fed elephants before, but never a rhino. This is a 9-year-old rhino. So cute. I love his little teeth. He was so hungry. He looked like our dog, Pixel.
>> How does this compare? I think this is the best. I mean, feeding giraffes was awesome. And when I fed elephants, I was a child, so I don't remember it, but this was really, really cool.
>> Yeah, I feel like giraffes are kind of scary because of their big black tongue.
But this was >> This guy only had a few teeth, so it wasn't as scary, but there were a few times where I I I didn't want to get my fingers too close. But he was saying that his nose is kind of like an elephant where he kind of like grabbed the food out of my hand.
>> Yeah.
>> But yeah, that was great. Totally worth the what was it like $12 extra?
>> Something like that.
>> Yeah, >> we found a cute little teeny tiny owl.
The first thing I thought of is how that rhino would swallow that hole without even chewing.
Do rhinos even eat do they eat leaves or do they eat >> I think they're like vegetarians. I don't know.
>> Oh, >> we just found a leopard and we're literally like 6 feet away from the leopard. He's like licking himself.
>> Almost looks like he's like a house cat.
So cute. He's like looking at me right now.
>> You don't want a leopard to be looking at you.
>> I think they're all just like eating food.
What is that guy doing?
>> He's like going in circles. I >> think he's going insane.
>> These guys, they're all eating.
>> Stinks over here.
>> Yeah, it's stinky. So, after meeting the rhino, we walked around the trail some more and we saw like a ton of animals.
It's like amazing. how many animals we saw and it's like pitch black at >> Yeah. I think the coolest surprise is we saw a leopard that was definitely staring Peter down and it was so cute.
It was just like a big cat. It was licking itself and just chilling up there.
>> Yeah. My camera has like a blinking red light. I think he was looking at me because of the blinking red light.
>> Yeah, maybe.
>> But highly recommend this pro tip. If you come here and do this, we didn't bring our fans because we're like, "Oh, it's at night. It's going to be cooler out. You're walking up hills. You're you're hike. This is a hike. Bring some way to cool you down when you come here.
Even though it's at night, you're still going to be sweating your butt off.
>> Yeah, my glasses were fogged up half the time.
>> But I will say 100% worth. So, our last touristy stop in Singapore is the airport. People say this is the coolest airport in the world, but it's kind of inaccurate because the thing that they're talking about is the mall that's next to the airport.
>> I mean, to be fair, it's right next to Terminal One. So, if you're in Terminal 1, >> yeah, >> you're golden. We were in terminal 4 and we took a short bus ride over here. It's not very far at all.
>> But I think if you watch a lot of YouTube videos, they make it out like this is the actual airport we were like waiting in.
>> I always thought this was the airport, but I mean, this is this is crazy.
>> Yeah. But we're we're here to tell you the truth. We've just walked in. A Montreal just went by with the Disney Adventure on it. And the waterfall is not operating right now.
>> I'm hoping it starts soon.
>> Yeah. I think when you think of the jewel, you think of the waterfall, and that's what we're here to see.
>> The jewel is basically a gigantic mall.
We've met a lot of locals that say they actually come here. Look at this Apple store. You know, I'm a fan of Apple stores. This one looks like the one in Apple Park. It's like round like the spaceship. We've made our way down to ground level, and it is so insanely beautiful here. And we've also found out why the waterfall is not running. It runs from 10:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. and right now it's only 9:40. So, we're going to wait around for 20 minutes to see it open up.
And of course, they have a gigantic snow globe with Mickey inside advertising the new Disney adventure.
That's That's kind of cool.
I didn't know what to expect. Like, I knew it was going to be a waterfall, but this is so beautiful in person. It looks like it just goes into a big cavern. And I don't understand how it works. And I don't understand how the water is recirculated up. I don't get it. But it is so lovely in here. It is so peaceful.
This is such a cool photo op. And this is absolutely free. You don't have to pay anything to come in here. You can come to the mall, come do your shopping, and walk around in here and get the most amazing photos. And it's funny cuz when we were at the Marina Bay Sands, we saw like a smaller scale waterfall that was kind of similar and that one didn't really impress me. Like I was kind of like, okay, whatever. But this one took my breath away. It is so pretty. And there's like a light mist that comes from it. And it just feels so good.
>> How cool is this?
>> So cool.
>> It's like so misty in here.
>> I know. Does it even come across on video? I don't even >> I don't think so. But this is like so much cooler than I've seen so many videos. looks so much cooler in person.
>> Yeah.
So, apparently there's a lucky Singapore otter and they have a whole merch stand for him here, including plushies, you could get cookies, you could get chocolates. I didn't know that there was a Singapore otter. I feel like we missed out on that. So, we found out that this otter is actually like an airport mascot and he's in charge of the control tower, which is like right next to the jewel.
>> That makes a lot more sense. I was like, there's otter here.
>> And they have a vending machine that sells popsicles of the control tower.
>> Oh my god, that's so funny. I love Asia.
Like, come on. That's great.
>> This place right here has merion shaped chocolates and they have a stitch as a merion. And look at this. They got the chili crab right there. He's not happy.
>> I just love that there's all these little plushies and stuff of all the iconic Singapore stuff. I never thought I needed a chili crab like keychain, but I think I might.
>> They even have the durian.
>> They even have the durian keychain.
That's so No, we're not getting that.
>> Oh, look at this. They have a bunch of coasters as well, including Mickey loves Singapore. So, in Asia, people put their things on a table to claim it. And here they're claiming it with a stitch. So, I found the Chip andale jurian lover design. Again, this is on a coaster, but the best part is on the back. I mean, how good is that? Do I need it? Is my souvenir? No. Okay.
>> If they had a t-shirt, you should have >> They had the t-shirt, but it wasn't my size.
>> It's only for kids.
>> Kaya butter toast flavored popcorn.
>> So, we actually found a Starbucks reserve inside of the Jewel. And check out this mug. It has all the classic Singapore dishes on there like kaya toast chicken rice. It has the pandan cake that you tried and >> and Starbucks.
>> Yeah, and Starbucks. All the essentials.
>> Oh my god, they got a robot here.
>> There's even a robot inside of the Starbucks reserve. And I love him. Look at him. Hello.
>> Want your used mug?
>> Okay. Bye-bye.
>> Maybe I'll make him happy.
>> Oh my god. Oh, he's mad. He's happy.
>> Why you upset little boy?
>> This mall is absolutely huge. Our friend Courtney says it's over 250 stores and like it has so many different floors.
We're just like wandering around seeing what we can find.
Oh, >> okay. So, they actually do have a Pokémon Center in this mall. And they have a bunch of stuff for the new game, Pocoia, which I've been obsessed with.
It just came out. And look at this. They have the little Mossy Snorlax. I'm obsessed with this game. We found a Pokémon Center. Just want to see what they got in here. Just browsing. I have no room left in my luggage, so I probably won't get anything, but I just wanted to look.
>> Is this basically the Pokemon version of Merlin? It looks like it.
>> I don't know anything about Pokémon.
It's Gyarados, but he's doing the Merlin thing.
>> Oh >> yeah.
>> Oh my god. Look at this pizza place. Is it egg pizza?
Salted egg Chicago pizza.
That looks crazy.
>> We're back in that store that sells the upset duck. It's called Action City. And I found a Niffler. And the one that I really want is the one with the scarf.
You could see it right over here. Look at how cute he is. Look at his little face. So, I might I might get one even though I don't think I'm going to get the one that I want, but they're all cute. So, let's do it.
>> They have a whole collection of the Zootopia characters sleeping. I think that's cute as well.
>> It has to be the scarf.
>> Anyone that I get, I'll be happy because this is so scarf or nothing.
>> This will be such a flex the next time we go to Universal in the States. People will be like, "Where'd you get that?"
I'll be like, "Got it in Singapore.
Sorry." Scarf. Scarf. Scarf. Scarf.
Scarf. Scarf. Scarf. Scarf. Scarf.
Scarf.
Oh, >> which one is it?
>> Which one did you get?
>> It's the one I love.
>> Wait, it's actually kind of cute.
>> Wait, it's actually kind of cute. Look at his face. So, I should just wear it as a necklace.
>> Okay, that's awesome.
>> Here we go. Wow.
Thank you guys for the support.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh my god, they actually sell the Merion Stitch.
>> Yeah, >> that's amazing.
>> That is amazing. You can basically get any character you want as a merion.
>> You can actually pay to walk up there right near Oh my god, the people are like right near the the rain.
>> It's like a jungle gym. Like that looks kind of crazy. You could just go in there and bounce around. It's like a bouncy house for little kids, >> but it's adults.
>> Oh, are you going to do it?
>> Uh my back. I don't think >> I know. Peter's been having back issues.
I think some of our friends might. So maybe we'll have to film them from down here.
So, when we were up there, we were wondering where does the water go? What is underneath that bowl of water?
>> I feel like I've never seen a video from this perspective. We're down like in the food court area. There's >> It's called the Food Republic. It's a Republic of food. It's kind of like a hawker center.
>> There's so many different choices down here. We're never going to be able to decide. But look at this.
>> Let's show you what we're seeing.
>> Oh my god.
>> Wow.
>> Oh my god. Wait. This is tripping me out.
>> Tripping you out.
>> Yeah. It's like making me like dizzy to look at it.
>> Giving me like vertigo to look up. Wow.
That's so cool.
>> Wow.
So, we made our way all the way up to the very top. There's actually this special experience that you could pay for. It's like a glass bridge, which we're definitely going to do. And I got to say like the vibes up here once you get to the top it's more humid. You really feel like you're in a rainforest.
You forget that you're just in this fancy shopping mall.
>> It's amazing that we are actually above where the water enters this.
>> I still don't understand how this thing works. Like how where does it go and how does it get funneled back up? Like I can't tell.
>> It looks incredible though.
>> Looking over at that glass bridge though, it does look kind of scary. Like it's just held up by some cables. What if there was an earthquake?
>> So, before we head out there, I just wanted to let you know that we paid 13.90 Singaporean each for this.
>> Oh, it's one of those ones that's like not completely clear.
>> It gets clear.
>> Oh, it gets clear. No, it's like baby step. They got to ease you into it.
>> You got this. You can do it.
This This actually isn't that bad. I mean, compared to the other glass things that we've done, I'm not good, but I'm not like freaking out.
>> I feel it moving. I feel it moving. I feel it moving. I feel it moving. You >> okay?
>> Yeah, I bet I feel it moving. It's actually not that bad when you kind of run across it.
>> Good day. If you want to see our Singapore food tour, we'll put the video right over there. And want to say thank you to some of our patreons. That includes >> Jay and Eric. Thank you guys so much.
>> Thanks for watching everybody. It will see you on the next adventure.
