[00:00:00]Did you like stories as a kid? Hi, David Star here. Today I'm going to give you a little dose of art, science, and storytelling from my book A to Z, baby animals plus scientists. We're going to start with letter F. Freud plus fox.

[00:00:14]Freud created a method of treating mental illness. He believed that talking, selfanalysis, and free association could be helpful. He called that method psychoanalysis.

[00:00:25]Freud also developed a model of the mind based off an iceberg, the conscious mind. Things we are aware of is the tip above the water. Unconscious mind, primitive wishes and impulses is the larger lower invisible part of the iceberg. Another model he developed included terms such as the id instincts, ego reality, and super ego morality.
