Edo Children's Day 2026: Tear Gas Causes Stampede & Panic at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium

[00:00:00]Yesterday was 27th of May 2026 and I believe that a lot of you already know what happened at Stadium Bin City when the children's day celebration was going on and how most of our children were tears by alleged security operative.

They don't really do proper verification before coming out to speak about any trending news. Right? And this morning, I'll be telling you guys what exactly happened yesterday that led to these children being tears. [00:02:25]Now yesterday was 27th of May 2026 which of course was children's day and it is expedient that different school should converge at a specific meeting point and of course in Ben city it was at stadium right a lot of people were there and a lot of schools both primary and secondary school were there right few hours into the incident there were some group of boys that were seen harassing some girls right close to the entrance gate right now when this issue was getting out of and there was a bouncer that was st there close to that gate. So the bouncer had to intervene because he noticed that the harassment was taking a new turn. So because of that he told the boys to leave the girls alone and that was how the group of boys left right they went back the group and then came back to that place again and that was how they attack they launch an attack on the bouncers right when the issue was trying to escalate one of the bouncers brought out a purpose square right now I know that a lot of people were made to believe that it was security operative that used tear gas on the children. That is not true. Go and do your verification properly. It was pepper spray that the bouncers use, right? They were trying to probably spray, you know, that area just to dispass the boys from harassing, you know, the girls and also from launching an attack on some of the bouncers, right? So, one of the bouncers brought out a pepper spray and of course he sprayed it, right? But due to the you know the severity and also the chemical on that spring it affected a lot of children right there on the feed and we all know that the system of children is still in the process of developing thereby making it very feeble and free right so we cannot compare it to the system of adult that is developed already that is why that pepper spray had great effect on those children and thereby they landed in the hospital right as I'm talking now a huge you A number of them has been discharged already remaining two and those two is still under supervision. Right. So the bouncer that actually spray the stuff right has been apprehended by security operative and he's currently in police custody. They are still investigating the case to actually find out what exactly transpired. Right now this is one of the drastic incidents that took place yesterday being children's day. Right. But my question is are we supposed to be happy celebrating the children when we know that more than 40 of our children are still in the den of kidnappers right I believe that a lot of you knows about the kidnapping that took place in O state few days ago how teachers and children were kidnapped in O state and still till now those children they are still in the den of those kidnappers so let me ask again are we supposed to be happy because it was children's day or are we supposed to take to the street asking the the government what they are doing about those people that is still in the bush with kidnappers right now let me ask you a question how many of our politicians children have been kidnapped in this country how many of their children are even living in this country right a lot of them are living their life in Europe while some of them are enjoying their life in a co you know hotel in Abuja living large as if you know nothing is going on in the country and still a lot you out there instead of you to demand answers from the government concerning the children that is still with kidnappers you are busy celebrating children's day when there are lot of children still languishing in kidnappers there right now thank god that most of our influencers are starting to speak up regarding this issue right because few hours ago fast came out and he actually made a statement that personally I was so happy about >> today's children's day but there's absolutely Nothing happy about the day.

[00:06:36]In fact, it's completely miserable. Over 40 people were kidnapped in O state.

[00:06:40]Most of them children, nursery and primary school children. Just so you understand how young these [music] kids are. They can't be with their families.

[00:06:49]The families still do not know where they are. The last image [music] that their families have of them are of them being tortured, being flogged.

[00:06:59]These guys have [music] recorded themselves torturing these children.

[00:07:05]They recorded themselves beheading a teacher. Our government hasn't done anything.

[00:07:18]And you know the the most infuriating thing about this entire thing [music] is as all these things are happening, these guys are campaigning.

[00:07:26]These guys are campaigning to be reelected.

[00:07:30]To be re-elected on what basis? To come back so that more people can be killed.

[00:07:39]And there are people among us supposedly educated, supposedly enlightened that are openly supporting them.

[00:07:50]I don't know. I look I can't pretend to have all the answers. I can't pretend to have all the answers, but I know for sure that keeping quiet, carrying on business like nothing is happening is definitely not.

[00:08:02]>> So, please, this is not the best time to celebrate. This is the best time to ask questions. This is the best time to demand answers from the government. What are they doing about the insecurity? Not just the insecurity, what are they doing about the hunger in the land? Few hours ago, I saw a video of a woman that was extremely pained, right? because she could not you know really afford the standard of living that we have in this country.
