This documentation captures the silent dignity of 19th-century craftsmanship as it slowly surrenders to time. It serves as a poignant reminder that modern efficiency often lacks the enduring soul of historical architecture.

I found an ABANDONED Victorian home built in 1870 (what’s inside?)Added:
What's going on, guys? Welcome back to another video. Today, we're going to be exploring this abandoned 18 mid 1800s uh kind of Victorian style farmhouse.
This place has been abandoned for several decades now. And believe it's going to be demolished for a new subdivision. So, pretty nice house like the old brick work and stuff out here.
So, without any further ado, let's get inside and check this place out. All right, guys. We just made our way inside the front door here.
Got a pretty cool historic Victorian house. I believe this place was built probably sometime around the 1850s, 1860s.
I'll have to do some research to find out exactly when it was built, but definitely a very old house. You can see this uh banister here. It's actually pretty unique with that as uh it's almost like a spiral, the spindles there.
Pretty cool. And you can see they've replaced a few here just with like a I don't know, a broomstick or something.
Pretty nice. This house has been abandoned for a very long time. It's falling apart.
Still got some older windows in here, probably from the uh ' 40s, maybe.
And they've marked out all these sections in the wall with this paint and then remove the lath and plaster. So, I don't know if that's to like test stuff or what it is. I'm not sure.
But we can see how this place is built.
Obviously, square nails. It's a very old house.
Here's your kitchen. Not a very fancy kitchen.
Got the red cabinet doors.
It's your sink there.
Yeah, you can see they marked that to cut it out.
They didn't, but they did on the ceiling. Not sure what that's for. Maybe just to see how the house is built. You can see here too, the brick. They chopped a hole there. So, this these are solid brick walls, like a foot thick, probably four courses of brick. So, again, that kind of shows the age of this home. We can see there the axe chopped beams and stuff.
I'm going to guess probably mid 1800s with this one. Whole house is on a little bit of an angle. I'm holding the camera straight now. This look like frosted glass, but it's actually so cold outside here that the frost like the moisture in the air is frozen over all the windows.
Yeah, they've ripped down a whole bunch of the ceilings and stuff. Maybe for asbestous testing, something like that.
Look at that. The uh stone wallpaper, old wooden trim.
So, this is abandoned because it's been bought by developer for a new subdivision. So, they're going to be putting a whole bunch of new houses in here. I assume this will be demolished.
If not, it'll maybe be incorporated and restored. I don't know. It's kind of hard to say.
This room's pretty nice. Lots of windows with that natural light.
And then there's a look at the staircase from there. Nice kind of scroll work there as well.
And then you have this door which obviously won't open. They have the actual plumbing running through it. So that goes into the back section of the house. They've kind of sealed that off.
So there is another way we can get there.
Look at the cobwebs in here. And above the door you have that transom window which looks like red stained glass which is nice.
I'll give you guys one more look at this room.
Then you have your stairs.
And then you have this room here. And there's a little bit more to the ground floor over here. We'll check that out.
And then we'll go upstairs.
I don't know if there's a basement. It's probably this door. Seems stuck closed.
Yeah, that door has plumbing. running through it, too. So, I don't know how you even get over there. Maybe only from outside.
It's the back section of the house.
In pretty bad shape, all decayed.
Some old wine glasses there. Look at these walls just crumbling. But you can see like the beams here. They're all chopped by hand with an axe. Like this is a very old home. And I I'm definitely going to do some research. It'll either be in the description, the title somewhere on what year this place was built cuz that looks very old. Everything in here does. Got these commercial like metal doors. Kind of unusual.
shelving there.
Just an old farmhouse. Yeah, this door must be the basement. Let's see if I can get that open. Yeah, look at that. It's sticking on the ground. There we go. And there are no stairs. And the basement is flooded. That's all ice. It's frozen.
So, the stairs collapsed and it is full of water.
Huh. Yeah, definitely not going to be going down there. I'm going to shut that cuz that's kind of dangerous. I don't want somebody to fall down there.
All right, let's uh head upstairs and check that out.
It's nice old staircase. You got this here. Looks like maybe maple.
Nice design.
Then you have this wallpaper up here with all the little flowers and stuff.
Another kind of retro feature. And even up here, you still have the old probably pine floors. So, it's still very original in here from when this place is built. Not many renovations or updates.
Not your first bedroom. Yeah, they ripped that ceiling down.
See, they just cut a square out.
Modern windows up here, which is surprising cuz downstairs they're all very old. But even this window is probably still 30, 40 years old.
Removed all the doors up here for some reason.
And then you have this door here which is like sealed off. You can see where the handle and stuff was.
Kind of strange. It's like the the door downstairs here is sealed off too. It's like there's another part of the house that you can't get to.
I don't know. Kind of strange. Then they obviously had a door here too.
Another bedroom here. Pretty decayed.
They've pulled the ceiling down again for that testing. Must be asbestous, I'm guessing. Although, I don't know why they do such a big uh section. Maybe it's just to see the structure of the house to see if they can save it. I'm not sure.
Every door in here is gone. Except that one. That one's there all frosted over.
It's a very cold day today. I think it's -18. I think it feels like 23 with the windchill. It's super cold out. Probably not the best day to be out exploring abandoned houses, but why not? I don't You know what? I don't mind the cold that much. It's when it's really windy and cold that I don't like.
So, here's the bathroom. All the walls are ripped apart. You know, people stolen the copper like usual.
But this is right in the front of the house. You have that rounded arched window.
Obviously, the modern window is just uh square, but even the ceiling kind of follows that same curvature, which is cool. This bathroom wouldn't have been here. This is all added. Would have just been part of the hallway. A lot of these old houses, they never had bathrooms when they were built. So, they would just add them wherever they could find space, just like this here.
And then up here we got one more room.
Probably the master bedroom. This one's actually pretty big.
Nice big room.
And then in here we have a closet. Yeah, every room they found that testing where they paint the wall, take it out. Not sure exactly what that's for, but yeah, that's about it for this house. Just a small little country farmhouse, but I like checking these out. They're historic homes. Uh, this one, like I said, will probably be demolished or at least completely modernized. So, it's cool to check it out in the state it's in, but this property probably won't be developed for years anyway. So, this will sit for a while. So, yeah. Yeah, let me know what you guys think down in the comments below. Be sure to like, share, subscribe. Let me know what you think.
And I'll catch you guys on the next adventure. Thanks for watching.
