Cluster of showers and a few embedded thunder developing overnightAdded:
Welcome back everyone. Pretty warm day it turned out to be after seeing some showers and thunderstorms just before sunrise. But then after that, yeah, the summer sun took over and temperatures easily made their way in the low to mid 80s for daytime highs. Right now we're dealing with a lot of clouds in a lot of our hometowns. Widespread 70s even as of this hour, but there are a few clusters of thunderstorms on the radar, especially just off to our south and west. We'll get to that in just a little bit. And whatever activity that we see for the rest of the night could very likely, though very widely scattered, likely linger on into Sunday morning.
After that, it's looking pretty quiet going into our Sunday and much warmer.
And so quiet that I'm taking the weather impact alert out for Sunday, especially come Sunday morning. But we're not quite done with those weather impact alerts.
The storm chances will continue and will continue to focus on areas like around Monday and Tuesday morning for that to take place. So that's what I'm going to put in here. But the good news here is that the severe weather impact that we're looking at appears to be isolated and mainly in the form of some maybe damaging wind gusts. So isolated is the word when it comes to this threat that we see going early next week. Right now you can see temperatures generally in the 70s. There are a few upper 60s that popped up from Galesburg to Burlington even around Mount Pleasant. And what we have been seeing are some of the showers and thunderstorms off to our south and west. This looks like we got rain falling, but actually it is not. In fact, going to our live radar, all this that you see there, that's all ground clutter. Bugs, dust, you name it. That's kind of what we're dealing with right here. So this is rain that's actually reaching the ground just outside the towns of Mount Pleasant, Burlington, even around Macomb. Little cluster of some thunderstorms just east of Waterloo, but these are just all showers and we think that's going to eventually kind of grow its way from southwest to northeast. Otherwise, through the south and west, we're seeing big time showers and thunderstorms going on there. That's where I had a history of severe thunderstorm warnings and even tornado warnings in those areas. But for us, it's going to be, I think, mainly showers as this part of the wave will try blossom its way from southwest to northeast. Not expected thing anything severe, at least when it comes to our viewing area. All that remains primarily off to our south and west. Putting our future track in the motion overnight and early tomorrow morning, it looks really quiet out there, but I wouldn't be surprised that wave that we have to the south and west kind of migrates around our area by early tomorrow morning. And by, I would say, near sunrise, temperatures are once again pretty warm.
Numbers will be only dropping in the 60s. Then, as we go throughout our Sunday, pretty good breeze coming out of the south and west, that's going to really help warm up our temperatures across our area. And I think even warmer than what we had today with those low to mid 80s, I think tomorrow we're definitely looking at mid to upper 80s for daytime highs across the area. As far as our 8-day tracker is concerned, all looking pretty quiet, like we said, going into Sunday, but then as we make our way into late Sunday night going to Monday morning, that's where we could be dealing with a cluster of some showers and thunderstorms that may be coming on through. Otherwise, we'll be seeing another wave, the last wave, possibly coming in on Tuesday morning. That could have some pretty strong thunderstorms as well. We'll keep an eye on that. After that, things look really quiet in the days to follow. Gets much warmer by the following weekend as well as in the days after that as well. We're I was forecasting 85, got to 83.
Jonas, we're now at an even $300. Very well done, James. Thank you.
