This drive captures the uneasy tension between rapid tourism expansion and the fragile ecosystems that actually protect the coastline. It serves as a sobering reminder that economic growth is unsustainable if it erodes the natural defenses necessary for its own survival.

Montego Bay to Falmouth: Jamaica’s FASTEST Growing CoastlineAjouté :
We're in Iron Shore in Montego Bay and we're going to make our way straight into Falmouth Trilani. Thanks so much for tuning in. If we had continuous street, that would have carried us to the Rio Hotel. To the right now is Witter Village. Can see KFC over there and a lot of other establishment. It's a beautiful weekend. And look how beautiful, colorful, how vibrant Jamaica is, man. Jamaica is just God bless. And of course, we're going on another beautiful journey into another beautiful capital of Falmouth.
This area, a lot of work is going on cuz it's like they're extending the commercial aspect of Montego Bay straight out here. They're constructing uh the new Price Mart. The Dreams um Roseal Jamaica Hotel is on the left and these hotels have been changing names so frequently and they're damaged. So they seems like they are closed.
So you see then hotels can't be our future or we can't just depend on hotels. They're going to build something over here on the left. Again, we're in the success area.
Success sentence.
Because if a hurricane come, the hotels become damaged, what are we going to depend on? Barry Town. Who knows Barry Town? You can turn right here on the right to go to Barrett Town.

So, we are now entering the Greenwood area.
It's what I'm talking about.
So this is Greenwood.
What's in Greenwood? You have the Greenwood great house.
You also have popular restaurants like Chill Out Hut, Father Bull, DND's.
You'll see them.
So 2G's restaurant and bar is right here on the left. This is one here again. Right here on the left again is Chill Out Hut. See that green build green top building. Chill out Hut Beach Bar and Grill. Beautiful place. They're clearing the land here to do more construction.
They're dumping up the mangroves.
Anybody can tell me the importance of mangroves in the comment section. Educate everybody. Why are mangroves important and why we shouldn't cut them down?
Why shouldn't we be cutting down the mangroves and just be building? What you think happen when there's a storm surge?
I'm telling you, we're still in the Greenwood area.
There's a gas station on the left there.
Total Energies gas station.
And if you wanted to go to Greenwood Great House, you would turn on the right like these vehicles on the right there.

We're in the Wilshire area.
So this area is called Wilshshire there on the right.
I'm expecting some rains this afternoon.
telling him.
Lovely, lovely day, man. Beautiful.
The old road is around where those vehicles are turning on the left right here. Can carry you onto the old road. The old road that used to carry you to Kingston way back in the day and before they build the North Coast Highway.
Look at the damage here to the mangroves and the wetlands here in Salt Marsh. This area is Salt Mash Trilani.
That's the Jamaica Urban Transit Bus.
Jamaica's publicly owned bus.
See how close the sea is? Yeah, that's the sea there on the left.
We're not too far away from our destination.
Fish for sale here. my my my Which country are you watching from? Are you in Canada, the US or UK, Asia, Europe or down under? Let me know in the comment section.
All right. So, we're leaving out of the Salt Marsh area now and we're in Greenside, Trilani.
It's late in the morning now.
All right. So, you can turn here to go to file mode, but we're not going to use this turn off.
going to use the second turn off into Falmouth.
So there's a sign saying Falmouth.
Welcome to Falmouth. And we're going straight.
And we're going to enter. We're going to make the next major left turn when it comes up.
More construction going on on the left here.
What they do, they just get some m and dump up the wetland, the mangrove, the marsh, and then they build on it.
When the water ready to take back its course, nothing can stop it, but we hope for the best. Oh my ly. Oh my gosh. You can get light. It's lighty season now, you know. So, you can get lighty on the road.
It's lyche season now. Anybody knows the fruit called litechi?
All right. So, we can we going to make the next left turn under the bridge.
Going just keep left and go into Falmouth, the beautiful town of Falmouth.
If we wanted to go Martha break where they do the rafting, we would turn on the right, but we going to make the left turn here.
Let's go.
This another sign says welcome to Falma, but that sign is covered in bushes.
For a tourism town, we need a better sign at this section.
This is the road that carries you into Falmouth, one of three entrances into the town from the North Coast Highway.
Probably the second time I'm entering Falmouth from this side.
I've always exit exited. Watch a balloon. Woo!
I've always exited using this way. Ah, the market is over there on the left. Nobody's there.
What's happening with Falmouth Market?
Champion Mall is in this section too.
So this is the town of Falmouth.
The thing is I'm not too familiar with the ins and out of Falmouth.
So as I go along I will ask questions.
Long time no coming far when it's this busy.
Champion Mall is to the right.
KFC's over there, supermarkets, etc. Beautiful day here in Falmouth.
All right. So, Meadows Business Center.
This street is called Market Street, by the way. New Testament Church of God on the right.

Nice.
Busy day here in Falmouth. Chilani.
Okay.
Rick's venue is straight across there.
Okay. So, this is a oneway.
Ah.
I'm learning the ins and outs of the town.
Where do I go?
First time coming down this side of Falmouth.
Palmouth is a general. Listen to me.
Falmouth has a lot of history.
Whole heap of history.
You can see some of the history on the buildings itself. Just the architecture of the building cuz right now me lo have an idea.
If I turn left, turn right.
All right. Milos wonder if ah. All right, let's make the right turn here. Look at the buildings over there. They are made of bricks.
It's almost like end of the 17th, 16th century, 18th century.
My my old old building roof missing our roof is damaged.
So if we wanted to go to Montego Bay would make the left turn. If we want to go to the Falmouth Pier, we would turn on the right here.
Nice.
One way street this is.
Okay, I think I know where I am now.
Then we're going to make the next left turn.
Slowly getting to know Falmouth if it's clear. And we proceed.
Scotia Bank is right here on the left.
Salvation Army Hall is on the right.
Look at this old building here, man.
That stone. They cut out the stone like like concrete block.
Telling you. Oh, that we can't enter from there. So, we have to continue along they call us a seabboard or seaw wall seabboard.
The parish court is on the left.
Roof still damaged.
Okay. Okay. So when the ship lands in the port land when the ship docks in the port this is where they exit from on the left here pier.
This is gate two.
So let me know what you think about the town of Almouth. Do you think it needs some development? This street is called Seabard Street. The craft market is on the right.
And this is gate four right here. That's the last gate to exit the cruise ship when you reach Falmouth. We're now on Tharp Street.
Normally Thorp. I know they have Tharp too.
gas station there. Do we need gas? Uh, we go chance it. I'm below half tank.
We're good right now, man. Just showing you what Falma Trilani is like.
Hope you like the view.
Such a beautiful rustic looking. Whenever I say rusty, I said rustic.
Rustic meaning old. What is vaccine?
Don't wait. Big up to the police.
The Chilani car park is on the left.
Ah. And they're utilizing their car park. Nice. And like Hopewell where the taximen refuse to to use their park and the authorities just allow that.
So if we wanted to go back in the town center, would turn left, but we're going to continue this side.
Beautiful day. Thank you so much for tuning in. You've been of good sport.
