Tesla's Full Self-Driving version 14.3.3 demonstrates significantly improved confidence and faster decision-making capabilities, with the system showing 20% more confidence in its driving decisions and reduced hesitation during maneuvers. The update unifies Robo Taxi, consumer FSD, and Smart Summon software into a single stack, representing a step toward unsupervised full self-driving. While the system performs flawlessly on city streets and highways with zero disengagements over 120+ miles, the parking stack still requires refinement as it struggles to select optimal parking spots and may loop through available spaces without committing. The system's improved visualization using Unreal Engine graphics provides better environmental awareness, though it still exhibits occasional indecisive behaviors at complex intersections.

Tesla FSD 14.3.3 Hits Phoenix Streets - FIRST LOOKAdded:
All right, guys. Welcome back to the channel. It's Anthony, and in today's video, we're going to be test driving or testing, I should say, the full self-driving version 14.3.
I just got this last night. I've been using it today. I'm on a actually 115.4 mile streak right now, which is really cool. It's been absolutely great. I've had barely any disengagements today.
I've had no disengagements today. Um, and it's just getting so close. It's getting so close. But I want to create more videos as we get closer. And um, so that's that's what I'm doing now. I'm back. So, here we are. Uh, first stop, we're going to be going to Desert Ridge Marketplace. For those of you that aren't familiar with this area, I'm in Phoenix, so it's actually a little bit of an easier uh driving compared to other cities. This city was kind of made for cars. It's going to be a perfect launch area for the robo taxi. Uh but it still poses challenges. You know, it's not perfect. And um yeah, so we're going to go I figured we would do a little bit of mall at Desert Ridge and then we would go to the musical instrument museum. Uh and then after that we're going to go to Costco, which we just passed. Uh I feel like that gives us some good city and highway driving.
But one thing I've noticed with this new update is how Wow, that was a big bump. One thing I've noticed about this update is how much more confident the car is. Uh Tesla said there was like 20% more confidence and fast or I guess fastness in its decision-m and I've definitely noticed that. It's kind of hesitated too. It's done that like no yes kind of thing where the wheel will turn one way and go the other way when it's like pulling up somewhere. I haven't actually se I haven't seen that in a long time, but I have seen it with this update. And I think that's just because now it's making decisions so much faster.
Um, but I'm keeping it in standard mode for this drive and I'll do other videos on the other modes like hurry mode and Mad Max. Uh, but for the sake of this drive, it's on standard. Tesla has definitely scaled back the nag. There's a lot less nagging with this update, especially in standard mode. And what I've noticed is when I'm in hurry mode or Mad Max mode, it'll actually put a message on the center of the screen and let me know that um it requires more of my attention because I'm in those faster modes. So, definitely interesting. I've never seen that before. And from my understanding, robo taxi is going to be operating on standard mode only. So it kind of makes sense that Tesla is more focused on standard mode versus the other modes which are more for, you know, the consumer cars where people want to go fast. But with Robo Taxi, it's really going to be about safety first and foremost. And so it makes sense that standard mode is what they're focused on.
So, as you can see, we're just staying in the right lane here, going a little bit below the speed limit, but we're maintaining our flow with the traffic.
Here we go. We're going to get off at Tatum here.
And so what's nice about taking the car through Desert Ridge is you'll be able to see it, you know, find its way to Target because that's what I put in.
It's going to park at Target and then we're going to pull out that spot and we're going to continue our drive and it looks like it'll take us right through the mall to leave.
So kind of we'll get to see it in that kind of environment.
And then the musical instrument museum is actually not too far. It's like right over here. Um, so we'll go there after.
Oh my gosh, that is so crazy.
The back of that car said, "F your Tesla." And wow, there's just so much haters for Tesla when really it's like it's like that guy's a clown, you know? Like this car is a total life hack. I haven't driven a car in like two years. I mean, yes, I've driven some cars. Like I've driven other non-Tesla cars and I've driven a little bit, but in the past two years, maybe three, gosh, I think it is closer to three. I really haven't driven that much, especially in the last two. And within the last year, the full self-driving has just gotten unbelievably good. And I switched from a hardware 3, Model 3 to a hardware 4, Model Y, Model Y, uh, premium. And, you know, you can really tell the difference going from hardware 3 to hardware 4. just the confidence level that the car has, uh, the capabilities of full self-driving, you can definitely tell it's increased with hardware 4. And, you know, with version 14 and now version 14.3, I mean, you're really seeing that. So, you know, I kind of feel bad for people who have to drive their cars, you know, for that loser in that BMW. I feel pretty bad for him because he has to drive his car and he's probably stressed out all the time and, you know, keeping up with traffic and racing people and just unsafe behavior.
In a Tesla with full self-driving, you don't have to worry about that. You literally can just sit back, relax, listen to some music, you know, look around at your surroundings.
Like that's another thing I've noticed since using full self-driving is just I'm so much more aware of like what's around me and you know I'm can see cool mountain views or you know just seeing a lot more. It's it's definitely cool. But you know I understand there's people that like to drive their car but not me.
Not me. I am over that.
So here we are at Target. We're going to make our way to a parking spot. So Tesla has improved the parking stack in this update. And in this update, they've also unified robo taxi software, consumer full self-driving software, and uh smart summon into one stack as far I think that's what I read. If I'm wrong, please correct me in the comments, but I believe that is what I saw, which is just another step forward toward getting unsupervised full self-driving. So, here we go. We're going to back into this spot. One thing I would love for them to add to the parking stack, if anyone from Tesla is watching this, is the ability to choose whether you want to back in or pull in forward. That would be so awesome to have that option.
So, here we are at Target and we've parked. Now, as you can see here before we go on to the Musical Instrument Museum, you can see the new visualization here with the Unreal Engine and it looks just so good. I mean, it's the the graphics are so improved.
Um, but let's go to the MIM.
Here we go.
And we're off. We're going to drive through the shopping closets. It's actually not too busy today. That makes sense because it's a What's today?
Wednesday. Oh, no. Today's Thursday.
It's a Thursday afternoon, so it's not quite the weekend rush. We've got a pedestrian here who's crossing the street. Very good.
So confident. Even before he finished fully crossing, the car started to edge up a little bit. Started to go. I mean, that's what we want to see. We want to see that confidence.
And then right here, we've got this.
It's too bad there's not more cars here to really put it to the test, but this little three-way stop here.
All right. And oop, it kind of did that little I don't know if you caught that, but it did that little indecisive move like it wasn't sure which lane it wanted to go into.
That comes with the faster decision- making. Um, you could definitely have noticed that especially when we're at these turns where there's two different lanes for it to choose from. It's been doing that little hesitation of the no yes, no, yes, no, yes, and then it makes the decision.
And then while we're at this light, so now they have the new self-driving app here. And as you can see, I use self-driving 99% of the time. My longest streak so far today, 119.7 miles without any disengagements.
Amazing. And then it, this is kind of wrong here. It's a self-driving 12,396.
There's about 16,000 miles on my Model Y at this point. And I can assure you, I've probably only driven less than 100 on my own. The rest of it has all been in full self-driving since I got the car. I haven't really driven it at all.
And I I laugh when I tell people like, you know, I bought a car that I've never really driven, but it's the truth. I've I've never really driven this car. I mean, obviously, I've got driven it a little bit so I could see what the acceleration is like or driving down the street to the mailbox or, you know, really small stuff. But, you know, I've driven this thing to Las Vegas. I've driven it to San Diego. I've driven up north to Sedona and Flagstaff.
Not once did I drive the car. Absolutely amazing. So, here we go. Put the full visualization back up.
It's just so smooth.
And when I f when I first started using full self-driving, I believe it was version 11.
Version 11.
Oh my gosh, have things changed in in the best way possible. Things have gotten so good since version 11. I'll tell you that.
So, I've actually never pulled into the musical instrument museum, but another YouTuber named Ryan Shaw, he actually has performed here a few times. He's a jazz artist and I kind of I think I heard about it before him, but then he like I was watching one of his videos and he was like, "Oh yeah, I'm going to be in uh Phoenix performing at the Musical Instrument Museum." And then I looked it up and I'm like, "Oh my gosh, that's so close to where I live." And so for this video, I was like, why don't we stop here?
So now we're going to pull into the parking lot and hopefully pick a spot closer to the door.
That's another thing is they refined the parking stack so that the car will pick a spot that is closer to where you need to walk in. That's I think that's one of the things I saw. So, it's better parking versus, you know, sometimes it would park at like the back of a parking lot.
Very nice. We're going to go around this Uber, it looks like.
Very nice. Very smooth.
And now we're going to pick a spot.
Oh, I guess we're not.
I'm surprised it should have taken one of those spots.
So, as you can see, the parking stack still needs work. Let's see what it does.
It seemed like it was fixated on getting a specific spot and then it didn't get it, so it kept going. But, it had plenty of spots to choose from. It should have chose one of those open spots, but let's see what it does here.
Hopefully one of these on the left.
Oh my gosh. Okay, I guess not.
We're going to go down this row again.
All right, I guess we're refusing to park. So, unfortunately, that is technically a disengagement because now we're just looping when we've got all of these open spots to choose from.
So, the parking stack still needs work, that's for sure. Let's move on to our next destination. so that we don't do this. Oh, I guess we're going back down here. Still needs work.
So, we're going to go to the Costco now.
Um, I guess we technically got one disengagement, but I'm not going to disengage it. I'm just going to move on.
I have seen with the parking stack that some people have had some problems like where it'll get to a grocery store and then it'll want to park in a spot where they'll have like the grocery carts and I've seen like the car like won't stop.
Like if the person didn't stop it, it might have hit the metal grocery cart holders.
So, I definitely think that the parking stack does need some refinement and you know maybe uh I mean the last 14.3.2 the parking was definitely more um confident I feel a little bit it would it would pick a spot and it would park in it even if it was just a little bit far away. But I think when they tweaked some things with the parking stack and this new update, they're trying to have the car pick the best spot possible, maybe closest to the entrance, like I mentioned earlier. But the problem with that is is now the car is like trying to find this perfect spot and like really perfect doesn't exist.
So it should have just picked one of those.
Here we go. So, now we're going to be on city streets going to the Costco.
So, I know some people might give me crap for not dis for not actually disengaging back there because my streak is still 121 121.5 miles. Um, which technically if I had disengaged in the parking lot at the MIM, it would have reset that to zero.
But the reason why I didn't do a real disengagement is because I wasn't really like driving to the MIM.
Like, I was just going there as one of the stops and I wasn't going to get out.
So, on city streets, I have no disengagements. But, um, I don't know. I could see people in the comments giving me a hard time about that. So, but on city streets, we're good. We have no disengagements.
It's really like the way I think about it is full self-driving is solved. But now there's like the little edge cases that they have to solve. Like driving on the streets solved 100%.
As you can see, I wasn't kidding about Phoenix driving. It's pretty easy.
Everything's a grid layout. All the streets are pretty much straight.
It's not a hard It's not going to be a hard place for Tesla to ramp up the robo taxi. And then on top of that, you have fantastic weather all the time. So, it's really like the one of the prime places for Tesla to launch this technology unsupervised.
And I have seen some reports that they're doing some testing of robo taxis right here in the valley.
Um, and I was actually gonna go to one of the Tesla locations, uh, Tesla Scottdale over in uh, North Scottsdale.
I had heard online that there was a robo taxi that was cited over there, so I was going to go check it out, but um, I didn't end up doing that today.
But I will go and check that out likely sometime in the next week. Maybe I'll do another full self-driving video over there. And if it's over there, then I'll get some video of it and give some of my first impressions because I've never seen it in person. But it is something I'm very excited about.
I still can't believe a guy in a BMW with a loud muffler drove by me with a FUR Tesla on his bumper and it was probably like a 2001 BMW and and it happened while I'm making this video which is just I don't know that's just so funny like oh my gosh wow nice move here. So, the light turned green and it saw a little opening here and it decided to be assertive. I like that. That was great.
I'm very curious to see what'll happen at Costco with parking.
That'll be interesting to find out.
I definitely plan to do full self-driving videos in other parts of the valley, too.
This just happens to be my part of the valley um which is like Desert Ridge area, North Phoenix, but um there's like a lot of other areas of the valley like that I want to try out downtown Phoenix um Chandler and Mesa, especially Chandler and Mesa because that is actually where they're going to be building the uh specialized robo taxi supercharge.
chargers, which are only going to be four robo taxis. They're not open to the public. So, that tells me since Tesla has one planned for Chandler and one planned for Mesa, that that's likely where they're going to roll this out first.
and then I also would like to, you know, Arizona is such a great place to do this kind of testing because you have the valley where it's desert, nice weather, but then I can drive up north. I can go to Sedona, which has a very unique road layout, definitely more open. And then I can also go up to Flagstaff, which, you know, has much different weather than down here. And so there's like a lot of testing that I could do. Just thought about that. Like I'll probably make some videos up there.
Um, another thing that I've been doing in my Model Y that I absolutely love is going camping.
And I used to camp intents and then around 2020 like I went a few times during the, you know, pandemic.
And then I just never went after that for years. And then after I got the Model Y, I was like, you know, I'm going to go camping. So I ordered the mattress and I got the window covers. And now I've been camping about six times. Yeah. Six times in the Model Y. And it is absolutely amazing. Like I mean it is one of the most fun things that you can do with your Model Y and you know waking up in the morning and having the glass roof and seeing whatever awesome view you're at. Um I mean it's it's so great. Like I don't think people realize how great it is to camp in a Model Y. And I have some friends and some clients who have Model Y's and they've never camped in them.
And I'm like, you literally bought like a a little camper. Like, you need to you need to try it. So, Costco's pretty busy right now.
It looks like the parking is closer to the entrance. It just came in a weird way and did a little little snaking around here.
I don't know why we're over by Taco Bell. As you can see, the parking stack definitely needs work because I would have I mean, I would have thought the car would have pulled up closer to the entrance and then picked a spot kind of in that vicinity.
But we drove over to Taco Bell here and now we're cutting across back over to Costco.
And hopefully we'll pick a spot right over here. Yep, right here.
Not too bad. Um, it's definitely in the Costco parking lot, so can't complain.
Um, is it as close to the door as I thought it would be? No, but it did it.
So, at Target in Costco, it it parked successfully. At the Musical Instrument Museum, it did not. But the driving on the roads was flawless. And overall, I am very impressed with version 14.3.
I definitely plan to make more videos here, so make sure to subscribe if you're not. And uh yeah, I'll see you in the next one.
