Hermes Agent WEB UI Is Absolutely Crazy 🤯Added:
Hermes agent web UI is absolutely crazy.
Today, I'm going to show you exactly why. No more staring at boring terminal screens. No more feeling like a developer just to use your AI agent.
We're talking a clean, slick web interface you can use from your browser, your phone, anywhere. Plus, I'm testing the brand new Hermes update live right now. It just dropped, and the new Kanban feature alone is going to blow your mind. Let's get into it. First things first, what even is Hermes? Think of it like this. Hermes agent is the harness.
It's the thing that holds your AI, talks to it the right way, and gets the good stuff out of it. The brand new plugin, that's the model. That could be ChatGPT, it could be DeepSeek, it could be a free API from OpenRouter. There are free options out there right now. Alpha just dropped recently with a million token context window. Gemini has got updates, too. So, you can genuinely use Hermes for free if you want to. The harness itself is free and open source. You can grab it. There's really no excuse to not try this. Now, the biggest problem most people have with Hermes, and I had it, too, is that using it inside the terminal just doesn't feel good. Works, but it doesn't feel like using a real agent. Feels like coding, and nobody signed up for that. You didn't get into AI automation to sit in a black screen typing commands. You got into it because you want to save time, get stuff done faster, and actually enjoy using the tools. So, today, we are fixing that problem completely. The difference is going to shock you. Hey, if we haven't met already, I'm the digital avatar Goldie, CEO of Goldie Agency. Whilst he's out there helping clients get more leads and customers, I'm here to bring you the latest AI updates every single week. Julian reads every single comment, so drop one below and let him know you're here. The first thing we are testing is Hermes web UI. It's a free open source project. You can literally just ask Hermes agent to install it for you. That's it. You don't need to figure it out yourself. You don't need to read the docs for an hour. You paste the info from GitHub straight into Hermes and tell it to get it working.
Your agent sets itself up. How good is that? And look at the difference once it's running. Talking two completely different experiences here. Terminal on one side, this clean web interface on the other. It's not even close. It actually feels is something you want to use. Something you'd open up first thing in the morning, not something you dread.
And if anything breaks, which it can sometimes because that's just how open source goes, you just go right back into Hermes and say, "Mate, fix this." And it does. That is the whole point of having an agent. You don't have to be the one solving every problem. Let the agent solve it. If you want to switch models or change your API, just run Hermes setup inside your terminal.
I switched over to GPT-4.5 in about 30 seconds. If you've already got a ChatGPT subscription, you can just hook that straight in. Grab a free API key from OpenRouter and you're good to go.
Speaking of models, I've been testing DeepSeek 2. It's fast, it's solid, and it's way more affordable than most options out there. So, if you're watching this and you want to keep things lean, DeepSeek is a great pick to plug into Hermes right now. One before we go further. If you want to take what you're learning right now and actually use it to scale your business, automate the boring stuff, and get more done in way less time, the AI Profit Boardroom is where that happens. It's the best community out there for people using AI automation to grow their business and get more customers. We have weekly coaching calls, step-by-step guides, and a whole room full of people doing exactly what you're trying to do. Link is in the comments in the description.
Check it out. Back to it. Now, here is where it gets really interesting, Hermes Workspace. This is my favorite interface for Hermes right now, and I'm going to tell you why. Cuz it feels like ChatGPT.
You open it up, you go to the chat, and you just start using it.
curve That alone makes it worth using.
If you've ever struggled to get people on your team to use a new tool, this solves that problem. It just looks normal. It feels normal. And it works.
Here is the brand new thing they just launched this week. It's called Kanban.
And this is a big deal. You can now create a Kanban board directly inside Hermes Workspace and assign tasks to your agent. So, let's say you type in, "Create an SEO calculator. Figure out the details." You add it as a task, assign it, and your agent goes off and builds it. That's it. Your agent is now working like a team member. You give it tasks, it gets them done. You don't have to baby sit it. You don't have to sit there prompting it every 5 minutes. You assign the work and walk away. You can see previous examples, too. We had the agent go off and build a full AI SEO blog. No hand-holding. Just a task on a board and it ran with it. That is genuinely exciting. You're basically running a one-person team at this point.
And the agent doesn't take breaks, doesn't miss deadlines, and doesn't need managing. It's not perfect yet. I'd say using the Kanban feature directly from Hermes sources even more powerful. But as a starting point inside workspace, this is wild. Keep an eye on this one because it's only going to get better.
We also tested Hermes Swift Mac. This is the desktop app version of Hermes web UI. So, you can run the whole thing as a proper desktop application right on your Mac. No browser needed. We told it to go build a beautiful website for the AI Profit Boardroom community and it just got to work building it out locally while we watched. Compare that to the terminal side by side. It's a completely different world. And honestly, once you use Hermes this way, you're not going back to the terminal version. It just feels too good. Now, there's also a new terminal UI plugin I wanted to show you.
Even if you do have to use the terminal for something, this new dashboard makes it way more bearable. You can press the command palette, switch between Hermes profiles, switch between sessions, check contacts and analytics, and manage everything from one place. It's way cleaner than the standard terminal setup. And you can even change the color theme. Yeah, it's got a little party mode. Press the shortcut, pick your color, done. Look, if you're going to be in the terminal, at least make it fun.
One thing I do want to flag, though. The biggest headache with Hermes, especially when you've got multiple interfaces and extensions running at the same time, is API management. If you switch model providers, sometimes it changes something in the config and something else breaks. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough that you should know about it. The fix is simple.
Copy the error from the terminal, paste it into Hermes, and tell it to fix it.
That is genuinely the fastest way to solve it. I've done it more times than I can count. Your agent is also your IT support. Use it that way. Lots of people ask me, "What's the difference between Hermes and Claude Code?" So, let me just break it down for you simply because it's actually a really good question and the answer matters depending on what you're trying to do. Claude Code is cleaner. It's got a nicer UI, it's more reliable, and it's backed by Anthropic, so it has to work. It's not just some open-source project where things can randomly break. If you need something stable, if you need something that's just going to work without you spending 20 minutes fixing stuff, Claude Code is the move. The API is also incredibly powerful. Honestly, one of the best I've ever used. And the whole desktop experience with Claude just feels smooth and polished. Great for fixing things, great for building things, great for anyone who wants reliability above everything else. Hermes, on the other hand, is way more customizable. It's open-source, so you can bend it to whatever you want. You can plug in any model. You can run it locally on your own machine. It can be completely free.
And if you know what you're doing, or you're willing to spend a little time getting it set up properly, the things you can automate with Hermes are seriously impressive. The Kanban feature we just covered, the workspace, the desktop app, the custom profiles. None of that exists in Claude Code right now.
So, they serve different purposes. For me personally, if I need something fixed fast, and I need it done right, I'm going to Claude Code. If I want to build a funnel automation, test a new workflow, or set up something custom, I'm going straight to Hermes. You don't have to pick one. Use both. That's what I do, and it works really well. So, that is everything we covered today. We tested Hermes web UI, the desktop app, the new terminal UI dashboard, Hermes workspace, and the brand new Kanban feature. Massive update. Massively useful. And honestly, Hermes just keeps getting better. Every week there's something new. That's the beauty of open-source, when a good community is behind it.
