Peter Fury’s raw authority bridges the gap between the grit of the ring and the timeless precision of ancient engineering. It is a compelling look at how human discipline remains unchanged across millennia.

‘WHO ARE YOU TO GIVE JUDGEMENT?’ Peter Fury BRUTALLY HONEST ON WARDLEY DUBOIS • USYK RICO • EGYPTAdded:
Who will be champion of champions? Usyk versus Rico. May 23rd. Watch only on Done.
What an atmosphere it is. They go toe to toe to the bell.
Big for by the head shot.
Refusing to lose. Refusing to give up.
Right hook to the head.
Boxing King Media. We are out here in Cairo, Egypt. As I was just saying, for the first time ever with Peter Fury, u not in the UK. How you finding Egypt, Pete? I'm guessing first time you've been here.
>> First time I've been here. Yeah, it's all right. It's uh it's nice. Weather's good. Weather's a bit too good at times, but it's uh it's warm, but it's nice.
It's a different heat. It's not like a burning heat.
>> I was I was saying that to somebody today. Yeah, the heat is quite absorbing. It's a It's a mad place, isn't it? I don't know if you had any um apprehensions about coming here or any thoughts that you had or anything that's changed before you got here.
>> No, not really. Um we went to look at the pyramids. I was very impressed with them. They've got a lot of biblical history. So, yeah, it was uh I was really pleased to see them. Do you know what it is? You can see them from the hotel here, but looking at them from a distance and actually going right up to them, it's a different thing altogether.
So, I'd strongly advise anybody that needs they need to see that.
>> Definitely, it does leave. I don't I don't think the camera's going to pick it up, but we've got one in the back over there. I don't know which one it is, but I I'll ask you a question about the pyramids. There's loads of theories on how these were built and why they're here, etc. What's What's your theory on it? You must have like a conspiracy in your head, or have you done the research?
>> I've done a little bit of research.
which I've been looking at them for quite a few years and they've been built by uh a lot of dedicated labor, you know, ramps and stairs and stuff like that. But the way they're built and the um the precision of them, that's what's exceptional more than anything.
And there's literally Yeah, it looks like millions of big stones everywhere.
So to do them and have that much dedication Well, he said I think they took Well, I'm trying to think what he said. either 20 years to move the stones into situ to build oh 30 years to move the stones and 20 years to build the pyramids. 50 years in total I'm sure that's what he said.
>> That is pretty nuts, isn't it? When you think about it and the fact that they're still standing 2,000 plus years later, >> 4 and a half thousand.
>> Was it 4 and a half,000? I thought it was 2,000.
>> No, 4 and a half thousand year then.
>> That's crazy.
>> Do you know what it is as well? There's like in the granite where they used to um prepare the bodies and take all the organs out in b. Yeah. There's even beveled walls in the granite the way they've done it. And then in the floor it's all like it's all like it's like a a granite like a stone but it illuminates. So when the when the night it comes illuminates like light in the stone and it's been there all them thousands of years. I think they live just like we do today to be fair. They had that much technology.
>> It's crazy to think that. I was reading something about apparently they have like the pharaohs used to get buried inside and they kept their jewel jewelry etc. You can only imagine the amount of things that are probably still in it undiscovered.
>> There's only one problem with all of these. If you want to see the future, look at the past. They got too proud.
They got too it's all about me. They fell. Rome felt, you know, Persia felt, you know, thousands of years ago. You've only got to look at it and this is uh because they get above themselves. They forget about the blessed Lord and they think it's all about them.
>> Talking of faith, you know, obviously Moses is what regarded as one of the the most important prophets in all the Abrahamic faiths. His history is tied down to these current lands that we're currently sat on right now. You read much about him. That must fascinate you being a man of God. Yeah, I've read everything about him. He came here well when he spoke to the blessed Lord on the burning bush and um you know that was it. He went into he sent him back here to get the Hebrews out and uh yeah that's what he did. So yes uh it's nice because I was I was thinking of all this because obviously I read the Bible on a daily basis yet. So I was looking at it and it's uh listen over the moon to be here to be honest and the Egyptian people has treated us very well. It's interesting when you read about something for years and you're actually there about, you know, living the place where you obviously been reading about.
So, >> I'm 58 and I've never I've never been here. So, if it wasn't for um T- Musk, we wouldn't be here, would we?
>> No.
>> So, we're grateful for that because I would never see them pyramids otherwise.
>> Well, I think the guy we've got to definitely thank is what's his bloody name? The actor Jason Stathithm.
>> Jason St. He's made it all happen, >> you know. Thanks to everybody. Thanks to my team, Rico, and everybody else. It's uh it's nice to be here. I think everybody needs to come and see it. And there's a lot more to see. Only obviously we ain't got the time.
>> Definitely not. Well, we'll kind of jump on to the the boxing. So, you know, one of the biggest talking points about this has been and people have been debating about it and Mauricio Sullivan's had a lot of stick for it is the fact that Rico in his second professional fight gets to fight for the world title. Um, I know like you're kind of stuck in the middle here cuz I know you're a proper straight shooter. So, where do you kind of stand with that? Do you just take the opportunity or where do you stand with it?
>> No, we've got somebody in Rico that wholly believes he can win. He's trained he's trained like a Trojan actually and he's in phenomenal shape, you know. He's always in good shape, but for this is in phenomenal shape. He highly respects us because who wouldn't, you know? So yeah, he believes he can win. We've trained him so as he can win, but obviously he's up against, you know, the best there is in this division. So he's going to get out there and he's going to do his very best and that's all you can do.
>> I know you're a fan of Usyk. You love him as a person, as a boxer. So what's it like for you being a coach kind of plotting his first ever professional loss?
>> You know, I don't look at it like that.
It's a sport. It's a sport. It's nothing personal. I just want them both to be okay and that's it. You know, look, uh, Usyk will want to test himself, you know, just like Rico is undefeated in his own sport. He's doing this fight because he wants to test himself. How good am I? That's Rico's point of view.
Can I be How good can I be? Let's see.
And you know, you got to give people like Rico maximum respect because he's achieved a pinnacle in his own sport.
Now he's coming over to this to to to try and do this. Forget having one pro fight. That's rubbish. He's got a good record. Rico can fight. He's a fighting man. He's been sparring with boxers for years. He can hold his own in there. And come Saturday night, people will see.
It's not It's not going to be an easy fight for none of them. You know, I was just thinking the mad thing is when did you leave that Bolton gym? How many years has it been since?
>> You know, it's been uh what was it now?
We got there in 2014 and I think we was there three or four years.
>> Wow. So 2018 then 2018 2019 I came to that Bolton gym and uh you invited me over and I watched Huie Spar Rico. Can you imagine? Who would have known seven years later we're going to be sat in Cairo and you're going to be in his corner fa facing one of the best heavyweights of all time.
>> Exactly. It is >> man of God puts you in situ.
>> I think Rico summed it up his herself.
You know, everybody's mixing up, you know, these fighters. We had Joshua with Jake Paul and stuff, you know, get him in.
Get him in and let's see. It's a it's a it's a good contest. But Rico's not coming up to, you know, put Usyk on a pedestal or anything like that. He's he's coming. He believes he can win.
He's trained for the win.
Now, obviously, when when the when it starts, obviously Usyk is the favorite. You can see why he's a phenomenal champion, like I said. But let's see how it goes. the last two heavyweights to dominate heavyweight boxing as in having all the belts Usyk and prior to him was Vladimir Klitschk who had all the belts for a long time and the coach that went and toppled him was Peter Fury. So that experience must be pretty big for Rico to have you in your corner to know that you've already experienced toppling like one of the great heavyweights who's got all the belts everything. So our keys up for him like do you use any of that experience in this situation or is this a complete different ball game? That's a wholly different ball game. I never look at yesterday. You know, >> that's a big career achievement on on your part. That's massive. That's never going to be forgotten about.
>> Okay. And you know, it's appreciated.
But, you know, we just move on. And uh so, no, I don't look at anything like that. I think uh this is a this is a whole different spectre. It's a different ball game, you know. Look, I believe let the best man win. It's in the hands of the gods. Does he say >> when when you've trained your best and Usyk will have trained his best, may the best man win. I am a sportsman. I'm not somebody think, oh, you know, I don't cut corners. I'm not interested like I'm not interested in how the other guys doing in camp. Not interested. I don't even look at hardly any videos. I do what I do with my own fighter and that's it. So, they're going to put the best foot forward and if they win, if they win and if they don't, the best man's won. Simple. If it's Usyk, he's a better man. And if it's Rico, he's a better man.
>> Your dream scenario is Rico. Obviously, most people's opinion, he's not going to win rounds against Usyk, so he has to knock him out. Um, what kind of dream scenario do you see for yourself and Rico?
>> I don't dream. Uh, very factual person.
Um, I just want Rico to be the best he can be, put on a good performance and win, lose a draw, we'll be proud of him, whatever he does. Don't forget, Rico is a personal friend of mine, you know, you know, I've got genuine feelings for the for for him. He's part of like he's like the family. I've known him that long. And Dennis, you know, he's been his longtime trainer. So, these are my own people anyway. So, it's uh it's a bit different. So yeah, of course I want him to do well, but there's no better man, there is no better man he can fight and lose to than Alexander Usyk. You know, he's a great champion, great human being, and I'm sure whatever happens in the fight, they'll be there'll be uh highly praise of each other after it anyway.
>> Indeed, we're looking forward to it.
It's going to be fascinating right in front of the pyramids. I want to get your opinion on a couple of things outside this event. Uh Fab Wardley has activated his rematch clause. Obviously, a lot of opinions on it. People saying he should have took a longer break.
Obviously, I don't know what the window is for that fight to happen next. But as his coach, what do you think would be the right move to do >> if you lose?
>> Yeah, take the rematch. He's a very tough man, Fabio Wardley, and he's a good fighter. just because you've not got it right on the night. I I never seen I've seen highlights of the fight.
But what what happens a lot of the time is when somebody goes down on the floor, they seem to forget the boxing and go for that big punch, you know, and it can turn, you know, it's called boxing for a reason. It ain't about how big you are.
It ain't about how strong you are. If you haven't got the feet and you haven't got the and you can't reach the opponent and you're getting out out maneuvered, what good is all the power to you? You know, no good. So, I think he'll do a lot he'll probably do a lot better next time. Yes. Listen, it's all a tall order. He's fighting a good fighter in Dubois. He's rough. he's toy strong, you know. But, um, I think when you see Wardley and he gets using his jab and he starts to box and he's a bit more patient, then he can even the scales a bit. So, yeah, it's anybody's fight again. It's definitely worth seeing and it's not a given that Dubois will win the rematch. He could turn it around because he's he's that type of a character.
>> Definitely. What did you make because a lot of people talked about obviously Ben Davidson's tactic, his corner work. I want to ask you about Don Charles because obvious cuz people have been talking about the negative side. I think they forgot to give Don his praise. So what did you make of his work and also that double slap they call it the Nigerian slap where you go with the front hand then you come back with the palm of the hand instantly. I don't know if you ever done that or not.
>> Oh what was what happened?
>> I not seen it. He slapped Dan I think round four. He literally went wham wham really heavy-handed. Just woke him up and he came out as a different fighter.
then whatever it takes to work. He look, I know Don Charles well. I got a lot of respect for him. He's a nice guy and um you know, he's doing his best. He knows his fighter. It's like um in Fabio's corner, they know the fighter and the fighter knows them. So really, it's not for us to sit back and give judgments on what they're doing. They Well, look, they said, "Oh, they should have stopped Fabio sooner." Fabio's fine. his action to rematch and we know he marks up pretty bad anyway. Yeah. So that's that.
So there's nothing wrong with him. So obviously it wasn't the wrong decision because he's okay, isn't he? So we got to look at it like that. He's give he's give um what's he called Dvois a slap to wake him up and he's come out a different man you're telling me. So it's worked hasn't he? So yeah it's the right tactics I suppose. On the other hand, you had Dave Allen. Uh some people are saying stop too early. What did you make of that?
Did you have you seen that fight?
>> I've seen the highlights of it. Um yeah, I just think um just outclass really, you know, it was a big ask anyway. And um yeah, he's taken a lot of punches and the referee knows and he said he saved he said he sells Dave after it. He said, "Yeah, I done me best and it wasn't enough." So he's not complaining about the stoppage. you said was beaten by a better man.
>> Definitely. I want to ask about your guys in the gym. So, Matty Harris, great win for him last time. Showed that the hard work is is paying off. You got James Dean Fury who's uh very close to making his pro debut. Any news on him and uh obviously want to always get an update on Huie as well.
>> First of all, Matias, he's he's out in July. He had a good performance. He's uh he's now taking it serious. He's even come out here to join in the training camp so he can train all the time. So he's check he's turned a corner. Matty Matty like was before he trained but you had to be on his back. Now he's excited. He wants to train. And when you've got that when that mentality changes in a young fighter that's when you get the best out of him. So there's plenty more to come from Mati Harris. He's he's majorly talented.
>> James >> James Dean. What can we say about him?
He's over there. Um, we should hopefully we're waiting to hear back from the boxing border control. So, they usually do meetings at the start of every month. So, we're hoping they can get it they can get him in, interview him, and he can get his license. And he's going on Boxer, I think towards the end of June.
>> So, that's an exclusive. He's signing with Boxer. Uh, and Huey, what is he? So really looks like he's keeping his weight down. He looks like he's ready to fight next week. Do >> you know he's um yeah, he's training and um I spoke to Mick Hennessy who's his manager. I spoke to boxer and they're behind him, you know, and uh they're going to get him a good fight. So they're working on it.
>> Is there any because there's rumors of him potentially fighting Andy Ruiz. Was there any truth in that?
>> Yeah, Andy Ruiz said he'd like the fight. Yui said he liked the fight. So I don't know what it is. Money or whatever. I'm not sure. But it seems to have like stagnated. Nothing's happened.
>> Savannah, I forgot about Savannah.
>> Savannah. Yeah. Well, do you know I've been away for 6 months. You know, we've been in Spain, then we went into Holland uh with this. So, basically, I've not been back, so I haven't really touched base with Savannah at all to be honest.
So, we've just been away and we've been focusing on this. So, I don't I don't know what she's doing at the moment.
>> That's it really. I don't know if you want to finish it with a word on Turkey cuz I was thinking earlier all these mad boxing events we've had in the last year. There's obviously not going to be many fans, boxing fans are going to come to the event cuz obviously it's a lot lot to do. But the fact that he's staging events in front of the pyramids, one of the wonders of the world and obviously there's all so much we've done in the last couple of years as well.
Pretty remarkable cuz boxing would would be dead without this guy, wouldn't it?
>> I think he's done an incredible job. Um he's put on major fights. He's put people against people where nobody could get them together. He's got promoters talking to each other where they didn't before. And it's all down to him. You know, the power of this man and what he does and what he does for boxing is incredible. And like you said, to put shows on here um in Egypt outside the pyramids, it's an open open event. It's spectacular as well. And uh yeah, I think us boxing people appreciate it because how can you not cuz without him these fights wouldn't be happening.
Definitely.
>> That's it really. We'll catch up after the fight, Peter. I wish you all the best with you and your guy. And uh it should be an interesting few days ahead.
>> The reason God gave you fear >> is so you can survive.
>> What an atmosphere it is. They go toe to toe to the bell.
