This Is the Pass We Needed!Added:
All right, it is time to load up and head to turn and burn. We got the old Escalade hooked up to the trailer. Uh Michigan trailer sales. Yeah, that's uh that thing was uh awesome going to North Carolina. We got used to it a little bit.
The car is ready. It's going to go do things this time around. It's going to do what we tell it to do. I feel it.
Look at the dust.
God, I hate this driveway back here. So, I need to throw the hood on. You guys seen the new gas tank, fuel cell, whatever you want to talk call it sitting on there. The dry sump tank.
We'll clean up this wiring. I think I'm going to put new plugs and plug wire. I know I'm going to put new plugs in it. I think I'm going to build some new plug wires when we get down there. Um, just to be all brand new. I feel good about everything. The dry sump system, um, that Steve got us is I mean, we got the tank, but uh, that's what he runs on all of the SMLS, I guess, and it seems to be a kick butt. It is definitely it's pulling vacuum now. So, that's awesome.
And we know, you know, it's going to make all kinds of oil pressure arms here. So, that's awesome. So, I'm going to get ready. You're I'm going to actually do a time lapse. that you guys watch what it takes to load up to get ready to go to event. Here's the bad thing. Half the trailer is already loaded. The golf cart's in there, the pit cooler. A whole bunch of stuff we normally take is already in there. So, I don't even have to load that yet. I still have a lot of work to do. So, you're going to watch me get this stuff around. I'm going to turn the car around first and get it backed in. Then, I'll back my trailer up and then we'll start loading stuff. So, check it out.
All right, guys. You seen that? I got the car flipped around. Yep. I'm wet.
Cuz right after I got the car flipped around, started loading the totes in the back of the Escalade. It started pouring down rain. Not just rain, but hailing.
So, I was getting beamed and I mean they're not golf golf ball sizes, but they're great size hail. It was pretty freaking big. Hopefully, uh, nothing sustained any dents. It got down. It's still It's still raining pretty good out there. I don't know if you guys can tell in the video, but it was getting down pretty good. So, I'm just going to start stacking everything up over by the door.
And I might back the car up and then put it in the trailer while it's in here.
But, I'm just going to get everything stacked up by the door at this point cuz good lord.
We need the rain, but darn it. All right, guys. The rain has stopped and we have a visitor. Our good friend, Mr. Harley, came and helped me load the car up because I probably would have crashed or something if he didn't.
>> So, he's back. Gumpy is here. That's who was important. Look.
>> Yeah, I know.
>> Like a prize dog. Like, look at that.
Look, he ain't even looking at the camera cuz he knows he's avoiding it on purpose for that.
>> Gumpy, look at the camera. Hey, up here.
>> Look up. Say hi.
Can you high five? Do high fives. Do high five. Do it. Do it.
>> Car is loaded. All the stuff is loaded.
Um, we got to put the tent in. That's what we got left to do. Got to throw our tent in. Huh? Did >> you grab the computer?
>> Yes, I did. I got the computer. I got the phone.
>> I got the charger.
>> So, we're going to get the disc loaded up. We're waiting for Dave with the camper to get here. Harley's got to pull his truck.
pull this truck inside and we are on our way to Summer Motorsports Park. You guys will see this tomorrow. So, by the way, make sure you guys like, share, subscribe. And here's the thing.
70% of you that are watching the video still aren't subscribed. Man, it's hurting my feelings. Please, it only takes a second. I get it. I never subscribed before to people. I never really watched YouTube. But, if you guys could just take a second, subscribe, and make sure you hit that chime so you guys know when we drop new videos. I've been trying to drop a couple reels a day or swords. They're called sorts on YouTube.
Also, like I said, pre-orders when we get back from this the following Monday or Tuesday, I'm going to put the pre-orders in for the the model shirts.
And then I also have two more shirts coming right after that. I got a um I want to call it like a military deal, brothers theme. And then I also have the Fourth of July shirts coming out, which I think are pimp. Um I think you guys will like them. So, a bunch of new apparel is going to be coming out. We're going to have that stuff on the website.
We're doing pre-orders on the the model ones because they are kind of expensive.
It looks like a lot of you guys are interested in them. They are really cool. Steve, Steve, and uh Kyle got some. Um hope to see a whole bunch of you guys wearing them at the racetrack.
So, this will probably be the end of this video cuz I want to start the next one tomorrow with the car testing. So, Thursday, you'll see that stuff.
Actually, you'll see w Tuesday Tuesday, Wednesday, and Tuesday and Wednesday's action from the track from Turn and Burn. You will see on Thursday. That is the goal. I'm going to try to do a video our normal Tuesday and Thursday. And if you if you're lucky or if I'm lucky, I'm going to try to pull off doing videos for the rest of the week, every day or every other day. It just depends on how busy we are. Um, obviously y'all know I ain't real good at eding. We have Harley with us. I don't know how much time he'll have. Uh, he might be able to help out. Obviously, he's the one that's did most of the videos anyways, but I like learning, so I've been doing stuff. But appreciate all you guys. A lot of this couldn't be done without having you guys or I don't want to say it like that because we really don't make no money off any of this. But you guys drive us to keep going and doing this even though it's been kicking our butt this year.
And uh you know what? I feel like the kick the butt kicking is over. Now we're going to start kicking some butt. So appreciate everybody, man. God bless and have a good night. Well, that was this is our first fuel stop.
Escalade.
>> Oh my receipt.
>> Hardings.
>> Forgot to grab the most expensive fillup I've ever had in my life. cave.
And we also got the house on wheels.
This is our house on wheels here. That's the little truck there that's pulling it. And that's the house on wheels. So, that's where we're going to that's where we're going to live for the week cuz this is a weird dragon drive where we're actually going to be at the same track every day. And we're allowed to stay in our campers, which is kind of awesome.
We did not bring our dragon drive trailer cuz we don't really got to pull a trailer with us cuz we're coming back to the same pit every day. So hopefully that's how it's working because we didn't bring it.
>> Harley's still with us. He didn't leave yet.
>> We're just out here peeing on trees.
Don't be making sure this tree is well nourished. Dave, how is the trip going so far?
>> So I've learned that the trailer brake pull out part works. At least something's good at pulling out.
I had to. I was pulling I was pulling around into the shop. When I'm around the corner, I felt a and all of a sudden it got really hard to drive. I'm like, "What the hell was that?" Flip into the lot and I'm like, "Dude, something's bound up back here." Start. I'm like, "Great. This trip's starting." Amazing.
Awesome. Awesome.
>> I got sleeped on, just so you know.
>> Yeah, I know.
>> I got sleed on by great size when I was trying to load the car the first time.
>> Yeah. No, it got pretty rowdy.
Obviously, I hooked up the big sail on wheels over here and I'm driving in 50 mph crosswinds blowing me everywhere. At least I got a fifth. We own it's kind like the weight.
>> I was I was gonna say there's I'm >> You've got a sail dragging you around behind you.
>> I promise it's not exciting to ride. I >> No, we left it. There was a bad storm that kind of rolled up this way.
>> Speaking of storms, there's lightning like the direction we're headed to.
>> Oh, there storms. Like, I can't believe you guys are heading into this. I'm like, well, what are we going to do?
>> I mean, going to drive. We're going to make it happen.
>> So, anyways, I did get the trailer brakes working.
>> What was it?
>> I don't know. After I after pulled that out, I pulled it back, pushed it back in. And then when I pulled up there, I unhooked all the seven way and hooked it back up. When I started the trucker back back up, it said trailer connected and trailer gains and all that are working again. So that's good. That's good.
>> Have trailer brakes for that.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to tell you, I was coming when I had to hit my brakes at the first red light that I caught there on Sprinkle. I'm like, "Oh, this sucks.
I don't think I'm stopping."
So, I knew they weren't working at that point and I figured I just I knew we were coming here so I was like I figured I'd just try to figure it out here.
>> I'm glad we got it. We Hey, dog and dog it.
>> Price should get going.
>> All right, guys. Keep rocking.
>> See, why are you being so goofy?
>> This is going to be kind of dark.
>> That's not I'm lying.
>> So, my new media guy, him, >> he just says, "What time is it? What time is it?
>> 2:00 in the morning. Why is it so dark is what I said?
>> It's early, too.
>> Yeah, dude.
>> We're here.
>> I'm like, it's dark out, dude.
>> That is uh >> I think that's stage headlights.
>> That's Mickey Thompson or that's not Mickey. This is Summit. And what we're what we're laughing about is we had to come in this little gate here like >> made for a go-kart.
>> Like literally made for a go-kart. I about high centered and then make sure he goes in that other lot, the second driveway. Um, and then Dave went past with the freaking 50- foot camper, got to the main gate, realized he can't get in the main gate, and literally had to back the camper up a mile down the road to get to a point where he could come back around the roundabout and come back. So, this is the kind of night we're having. So, now you see Harley's out there in the road. Maybe you don't see cuz it's very dark.
>> Semi behind him.
>> There's a semi. So, he's going to turn into the parking lot over here. He's going to turn into that parking lot, do a loop around their lot, and then come straight in here where I'm at. So, that's what's going to happen.
We're going to And then I got to get out of his way. So, point to the second lot. That way, he knows.
Here's Dave down there.
Going the second one right there. What are you doing?
Good lord.
>> Did you Did you hear him? He was flooring it, dude. He's ready to go racing. All right, guys. We're going to go find a parking spot, get some sleep, get ready to race tomorrow, man. We're excited. I knew it. I literally I was like, there's no way he's going to keep messing with me. And you did cuz these child locks, bro. Listen, hear me out, dude.
I'm It's fine. You know what I mean?
It's It's fine.
>> The dog's about to jump out the window, bro.
>> Bro, so like I don't get paid enough.
>> You know what I mean?
>> All right, we're officially here at Summit Motorsports Park. This is going to be just a testing day. We got Harley just got done doing his walk. Dumpy's out here chasing balls.
>> That's kind of like kind of like Harley.
And then you got Dave polishing the uh the car up. We got the Boostmaster wagon of Steve Morrises right over here. We got the better half Camaro. You know what the bad thing is?
What >> is when the wagon on the property is one of the lowest cars on the property.
You're doing something wrong. I told Dave we have to load a car cuz that thing looks good. Oh my goodness. Holy cow. You >> see the driver though?
>> The driver. the car. We're good.
>> So, we are getting everything unloaded, getting everything around us. They're going to be our little camp for the driver >> the the the camp here. We're getting everything set up and probably take off, find somewhere to get coffee because we haven't had coffee. We only got a couple hours sleep. We didn't get in until like 2:00 a.m. last night. So, it is it was a little late and then we set everything up way down there where you guys seen us set up last night. And then we found out this morning that we needed to be down here. So, therefore, we had to move.
But, we're going to have a good day today. Hopefully we'll get some test passes in and get this thing sorted out.
Looking forward to the sunshine and race car friends. All right, Val is in the lanes for the first test pass at Summit Motorsports Park for a turn and burn. It is a multi-day dragon ride and a uh at one track was kind of a downhill. They got this thing looking really good.
So, here we go. Steve's got his headset on. We're going to go in the left lane.
Left lane feels a little better than right.
Left.
So, we're going to go get this pass.
All right, it's day two of tournament burn.
My fellow racers here aren't feeling it.
Let's talk about real quick. Let's talk about the weather we've had this year in racing so far. Uh starting with sick week. How was weather sick?
>> Sick winter.
>> Sick. Sick. Sick winter. Okay. It was during the Michigan winter, but you thought in Florida we've been good. And then we go to North Carolina.
>> Well, so anyways, yeah, it was 30s and snowing and everything in Florida and stuff like that. Then we uh >> like I said, we go to South Carolina and it's literally >> a sauna.
>> Yeah. like 90s and dying every day.
>> I went from whatever we were at in Michigan to heat exhaustion day one.
>> Dude, it was pretty rough. Like it was so dry.
>> Took two days to really kind of adapt to the heat cuz hadn't hadn't took off the winter coats yet, you know, type deal.
And uh hadn't broke our bodies into the heat. So >> I know I know I sarcastically dramatize some things, you know, you just do that sometime.
>> But literally when I started feeling my body shut down, I'm like, "Here we go."
>> And it was day one.
>> Drink water, get in the shade. It wasn't it wasn't that simple, which is weird about my body getting older because everybody always tries to tell me how to regulate heat exhaust. Bro, I was in Afghanistan and I I figured out how to regulate my body and my body's just older and it don't care every time.
>> You know, I got to say I didn't really have a hard time there, but I spend 45 minutes in a sauna every day. So, I think I be serious. I used to hate you.
That's Dave, dude. I would like freak out when it got hot.
>> Yeah.
>> Um I think that's helped.
>> I'm going be honest with you.
>> You know what? I think for giggles one time this year, we're going to stuff you in that.
>> Oh, here we go. I knew I I actually in my head was like I sit in a car.
>> Shut up. Let you sit in a car.
>> If I'm sitting in the car, I'm making a pass, dude. I'm freaking getting dressed up.
>> The problem is is you never really know what's going to happen when it's going to happen. So, you have to be partially ready when you're down there at least minimal sucking a little bit the entire time.
>> Yeah, you got to suck a little bit the whole time.
>> So, so anyway, >> how often is my luck that I get all of my gear on every time >> and then somebody oils a track down or something happens or they hold for a minute and it's just cold and rainy?
Honestly, I came here for the sunshine and the good times, and you're kind of ruining my vibe right now, homie.
>> So, so we go from sick winter and it was like 30s. It had no heat. No heat, right >> to racing on planet sun, >> like racing on the racing on the sun surface. Okay. So, that was that was uh um what was that race? Uh bragging rights. Street car bragging rights.
>> Y >> awesome awesome event, but just that's like sick week. It was just kind of miserable because of weather and so on.
Um and the track temps are 130° like it's hard to make any slimy tracks. Y.
>> So then we get turnover. We're I'm thinking this got it's Midwest. It's it's early May. We're 60s, mid60s, maybe even low >> 70s every day. We're breaking some pretty decent temps at home. We're getting some weird swings, but we're doing all right. And then we're coming to the uh >> instead we go we do is we come to race in the great flood.
>> The great flood. I know. But you >> It rained for like 24 hours straight.
That's Have you guys walked on the the roads yet? The pavement?
>> Yeah. Did you see the worms?
>> Worms. Hey. Yes. If your son wanted to come fish, um, it's probably it'll probably be a a thing.
>> Come on, Dad.
>> Yeah. Here we go. Yeah. There. Look at that. So, >> three grown men supposed to film this little couch.
>> If you grab a little mess with more, you know what I mean?
>> Oh, now Gumpy's come up, too.
>> So, so anyways, we go from sick winter to racing on the sun and Gumpy's excited. Um, >> then we get here and it's a it's a great flood, but it's not just rainy.
>> It's cold, >> dude. It is freaking cold. And then we got the camper. We're hooked to 110. The thermostat for some reason has never not worked. Don't work. So, we don't have heat. So, I haven't told my wife yet and she probably won't know until she gets here cuz if I tell her, she probably's not coming. Let's be honest with you, she's not doing the cold.
>> Worst part is yesterday morning I told her told her bring good warm clothes. We ain't got no heat in here.
>> Oh, >> yesterday morning was gorgeous though.
It started off gorgeous. Yeah, yesterday was beautiful in the morning.
>> We didn't get a chance to make a pass either. That kind of sucked. But >> we're about ready. We're ready to go make a lick and hopefully uh hopefully get the track temps up where it's like feasible. And uh anyways, anything else you want to add to our our this year's uh racing so far?
>> That Dave gets away with a lot with me and this week he wants to find out. So, we'll see. We'll see what we can catch it on camera.
>> All right, guys. Hopefully the next time you see me on this video, >> do you want to talk about my sore butt muscle from Dave?
>> No, we don't want to talk about your sore butt muscle.
>> Nobody wants to know why you got sore butt from me.
>> I I uh hopefully the next thing you see on this camera is us getting ready to go make a pass or making a pass.
>> Holy crap, buddy. What in the >> heck, man? I tell you what, this is crazy.
>> I've never seen something like that.
>> I think we had a defective heater.
>> Yes. All right, give the story. So, I went down um to get a oil heater cuz it's 30° here.
>> Yeah. So, that's that is a oil heater p pad. So, what you do is you you stick it on the It sticks to the tank.
>> Yep.
>> And so, you stick it on the tank.
>> Yep. So, I stick it on the tank. We plug it in. I say, "Man, this thing got hot fast. We have to take showers." So, we all take off down to the showers. We leave the trailer all closed up. Get back from the showers. We open the back door and smoke comes out. I thought maybe it was dust. And what it was is it was a fire. Uh literally you can see where the flames were coming up.
Luckily, >> look at this.
>> That is Yeah, >> luckily it doesn't there's nothing above where it was at that could catch fire.
Um but this is crazy.
>> Oh my gosh, >> guys. Be careful with your oil heaters, man. Make sure >> do not plug stuff in and leave.
>> Do not.
>> Holy cow.
>> I will never do it again. I am so so happy it didn't >> as as I have both of my cars plugged in right at this very second.
>> There's people around like have you seen >> Yeah, it was inside the trailer and the trailer was closed but no hood on like this was this was this was all brand new clean. Everything was you know brand new clean. This is everything that thing caught on fire and did not burn your freaking car down.
>> Now you get to see though, Steve, where we put the gas tank at.
>> Oh yeah, that's where we put the gas tank. Yeah, >> I think it's much better down there. I like that.
>> Oh, Dave likes it now, too. Everything worked out. But >> anyways, we're just glad we didn't have fire.
>> That's That's literal black flame right there.
>> Like I said, tank's hot. Like, you feel the tank.
>> For that little bit of time, that's not even where the oil's at. You go down here where the oil's at.
>> Dang.
>> It's pretty warm, dude. So, >> insane.
>> Well, Steve, we did what you said and heated up the oil.
>> Oh, you heated it up. We heated it up.
>> Good job.
>> All right, we're continuing to get ready. They're talking about the track going hot around 12:30.
You probably hear in the background they got dryers out on the track. They're getting everything the best they can with the situation. The tsunamis we went through.
>> Steve's doing some last >> tsunami. Tsunami.
>> Tsunami.
>> Yeah, it's a tsunami.
>> Steve is working on uh the boost wagon trying to get the last couple touches done for his first pass ever with the radios. I would be lying if I didn't say I was super excited to see this happen because this has been like years in the making to see this transition. And it's not just us excited. I know Steve's a little excited, but there's other people in the pits that are super excited. I'm sure all you guys are ready to see this happen. Um, the car sits I haven't did a video like of mine, but I'm telling you, when this car is on the ground, I don't know there's a car on the property that has a better stance than this thing.
Now, that has caused other problems for Steamboat. It doesn't exactly load into his trailer very good. The his ProJacks don't work as well as they used to. He can't put it on the the in the stacker onto the upper level um because it is a little bit on a low side, which if we had to, we could probably lift the car up a little bit, but I don't know that he wants to go away from the stance.
There's been a lot of good compliments, huh? So, we got the shock setting set. I went through and just did a base setting and everything. We've already set the bar angles and set all that stuff up.
The car should go down. Steve wants to get he's gonna he's gonna put a tuneup in. You know, I I I took some power out of it messing with him cuz I was doing some other stuff and he said he's going to probably put it back in. So, you never know. Could be one of those things where everything just works like it's supposed to and it goes like super fast this first pass. Um, we obviously all know Steve's a heck of a driver, so it's not the same as like the better half where we're just working slowly into figuring the car out. He knows the car.
He's drove this car for a long time. Um, so as you probably probably know, u where the our car, the Phoenix is down getting teched in. We we feel really good about it. But Steve, what are your goals? I know I know everybody keeps asking now.
>> Okay, so the primary goal is the same reason why we're not going to raise this to get it in the trailer, cuz cool is way important than easy.
>> I like that.
>> Okay, so cool. Easy. All right. All right. Uh, >> cool. Really fast.
>> Okay. It's like, hey, right up there.
>> You can do both. The lower >> if Yes. If we can go both like this, that is the ultimate. Cool. And really fast.
>> And that's what you're going to do.
>> That's what we're trying. But that's what we're shooting.
>> How fast do you think you can go today?
>> Uh, I'll be astronomically disappointed if I don't go 430 today.
>> Woo. That's that's that's fast. We did.
off.
>> Yeah, but >> yeah. Yeah. I mean, because big block, not only big block, because SMX big block.
>> SMX.
>> Because SMX, that's a whole lot of engine. We're We are small. 400 cubic. This is what 540 >> 540.
>> So, 140 more cubic inch large frame turbos versus mid-frame turbos. And I think they're 98 >> or are these 94s?
>> Oh, 94s. Great choice.
So, this makes, you know, >> will make 5,000 horsepower. I mean, that's what Bailey's basically makes.
>> Basic basically just only 5,000, you know, so, but it and it's still a wagon.
And if uh I ever get a chance, I'm going to get a saw and some cut off wheels and stuff and help him on the weight side cuz I think we can get some weight out of this thing after looking it over.
>> It is heavy.
>> It is. I had to help push it under the the >> It pushes much. I'm amazed at how much better it pushes with the radios.
>> I can push it myself. Yeah. No, radio seem to push a little better. All right, guys. Stay tuned. We're going to have some fun today and go fast.
>> Checking the CO2 on the surf. He's going to check them both for the first time with a small tire.
Tra number two.
>> But >> how do you know? Can you reach?
>> I like look at half my arm. It's up here. So, I just reach it. It's crazy.
>> It's good practice for something, I guess. I don't know. But it's up there.
That's for darn sure. I can't even see half a wheel there.
>> You'll have to lower yours back.
>> So, whatever you had yours set at, Nick messed it up. Just so you know.
>> I messed it up.
>> Yeah, I'm fixing. Well, I'm kind of fix to reset it, but we have a start there.
So, his wheels are so far in the wheel well. I looked over and Val's arm is up and you're like, >> put the puddle out on the ground yet.
>> We thought you forgot about us.
>> Yeah, dude. I was starting to wonder like if uh I needed to come look for you.
>> Here's that car. I was only, five cars back in that line.
>> That's what I was trying to figure out.
Did they start at the other end or what?
It was still a Turk.
>> Was it by itself?
>> Well, no.
the Tanya's up there, the one lady that always does up there, and another girl.
>> Well, that's right there.
>> Got it.
There we go.
Stay behind the wheel. Brother 200.
It made a little bit of a move to the left there just past the 330. They'll click it early and go 838 at 108. But it looked good for the first 330 ft. I had to guard it a little bit to the left, but otherwise it looked good.
All right, end of day two of testing at Turn and Burn. Mickey Thompson. Turn and burn. Dave, >> I'm on my lunch break.
>> Lunch. It is lunch. We didn't eat today, did we? Other than breakfast. I don't think so. Anyways, so how did operation dry sump go so far?
>> Well, I haven't ran it out yet, so I really don't know.
>> I guess there's that. I mean, >> now we got more oil pressure than we had. We had less cranksh pressure than we had.
>> So, so far, >> two, >> pretty good. So, let's talk about the past. So, we we went up the first time, we had some oil drip out of the exhaust or whatever we want to clean up, like nothing big. Come back around, did some tuneup stuff. It was really cold out. We didn't have a tuneup adjusted for the weather. I I should I I didn't uh made a shock adjustment. Thank No. No, that Okay. So yeah, we went back, hit the it, left the line, spun the tires at about 50 foot 40.
>> 50 foot out and spun the tires >> and then you just drove it around, come back, we checked over the tune, and I loosened the suspension up.
>> Mhm.
>> Actually loosened it up too much. We'll get to that. Uh went back up, went on a chip better cuz we added some fueling and all that.
>> Yep. So it went on a chip and it did >> did race car things finally. It was a soft easy tuneup because we're just trying to get data obviously.
>> Yeah. 2C ramp.
>> Yeah.
>> 114 60 foot 30 465 to the eighth and I was out of it before the eighth. It was a 465 to the eth. I was out of it at 4.1. Right.
>> Yeah. 4.1. Yep.
>> I was out of it at 4.1 seconds. So, >> I mean not not long before the eighth, but enough.
>> It's driving around a little bit. Top the shocks out. Got to tighten everything back up now. We had a lighter spring on the rear now. So, all in all, we're just doing a little maintenance stuff tonight, getting it ready.
