She Accused Trump Of Assault. Now The DOJ Is Plotting Revenge.

[00:00:06]Uh the news that Eugene Carol is under investigation.

[00:00:17]What's it all about? And then Katie, I'll come to you to ask whether it makes any sense. Adam, >> I think what it's all about, Norm, is that Donald Trump owes Eugene Carol more than $88 million after she successfully sued him twice and prevailed in court in trials that I saw in the Southern District of New York. Ostensibly, this investigation is about a deposition uh that she gave in service of uh that litigation about her funding. That's what the government is saying that is supposedly justifying this investigation. But let's talk about depositions that happened in the Eugene Carol case if we're talking about truthfulness in depositions. I was in federal court when the deposition of Donald Trump was unspooled. And he uh famously uh and one might say wretchedly uh claimed, "She's not my type." That was his defense to sexual abuse. She's not my type. And in this deposition, he was shown a picture uh that he was not aware included Eugene Carol pointed to that picture and confused her with Mara Maples. So clearly she was his type. He confused her with his second wife. Um, so that was just one example of the demonstrable lies that led a unanimous federal jury to find him liable of for sexually abusing Eugene Carol. And what is inspiring this new leg of the retaliation tour in the very district where they just failed to prosecute six local activists and politicians known as the Broadview 6.

[00:02:07]They were supposed to be on trial right now, but evidence of shocking grand jury misconduct came to light. Perfect place to try to persecute EG.

[00:02:18]>> The James case thrown out. the Comey and thrown out over and over again. Judges, juries, the Comey case thrown out. Now they're coming after him for shells.

[00:02:28]That's going to be uh flushed. And now the Broadview 6 thrown out. The Subway sandwich thrower. So many of these cases um are garbage. And now we have another one with the investigation of Eugene Carol Katie. They when I debated this person last night on CNN, he kept saying, "But wait a minute, she answered a maybe she answered a single question incompletely or wrongly. We should have a federal case about her." What what what sense does that make to you? And how do you put that in the context? What the hell is going on here? I don't know why we should be surprised, Norm, because according to Cash Patel and Todd Blanch, they spent more than a year investigating James Comey over 8647 spelled out in seashells. I mean, that is what they are prioritizing. They are not prioritizing the release of the full transparency of the Epstein files, right? They think that going after E and Carol, which is such misplaced stupidity. Um, but look, we just saw what happened with Kilargo Garcia, right? We see what happens when you get exposed in this Trump DOJ of having vindictive and selective prosecutions, which is exactly this. And I just want to note something to you, fine gentlemen, and to all the people that are tuning in here on the contrarian.

[00:03:59]You note that the criminal investigation allegedly centers on testimony provided by Eugene during the course of a deposition about funding from Reed Hoffman, which I guess for Trump the DOJ is kind of a double win, right? You go after Eugene, who to whom Trump owes, as Adam said, more than 88 plus million dollars plus interest, blah blah blah.

[00:04:20]But you can also make a ding or make a run at Reed Hoffman, who's a well-known funer or de Democratic donor. But here's the thing. You notice how they're not going after her about the substantive testimony she provided about the sexual assault that she was victimized by Trump, right? They're not going after that. They're not going after the underlying facts of what she has alleged happened to her at the hands of Donald Trump. That is the tell. You want to go after a Reed Hoffman related deposition testimony for perjury, but you're not going after her about the fact that he sexually assaulted her in a dressing room at Burgdar Goment and then he lied about it. So, it's that and listen, he's losing on every level. He lost at multiple trials. He lost at the appellet court level. He got it. He eaked out a tiny little win. They didn't have to render payment right now, but otherwise this is where he goes. And the disgusting thing is he clearly US attorney forum shopped this. I'm shocked it didn't end up in the Southern District of Florida because we kind of are specializing that down here. But he found this dumbass guy in Chicago who blew up the Broad View Six indictment. Why? because of malfeasants and and wrongdoing with the grand jury, which we saw happen with James Comr's grand jury with Lindseay Hallan. So, you know what? There's no grand jury that's going to indict Eene Carol. I will echo the words of my dear friend Joyce Vance, who's also a good friend of Eene. No grand jury in America is going to indict Eugene. But the fact that Eene even has to go through this, we've talked about it concerning Lam Monica MacGyver, James Comr, Tish James, Adam, Kar Garcia, every Sorry, James. Yeah, right. not not comy. Um the the process is the punishment. It's not so much the win because they know they're not going to get there, right guys? It's the process is the punishment, >> right? I I just want to chime in on the jurisdiction part of it because that's another tell. I mean, this was a case that panned out in the Southern District of New York, and this was a case that if they wanted to bring a grand jury investigation about this case, a natural fit would seem to be the Southern District of New York. Yes, Reed Hoffman is in the Chicago area, but one can, and it's speculation, one can easily imagine there is an exodus of line A USA's in the Southern District of New York who wouldn't touch this thing. So they have to forum shop this in the very sight of some of the most serious grand jury misconduct that I have ever seen in my career as a journalist. And I think we'll probably go into the weeds of the Broadview Six norm at some point. Yes.

[00:07:02]Um but what's important is the pattern and it's so striking how the Department of Justice because of the extraordinary powers that we give to our uh law enforcement apparatus including to investigate, to prosecute cases, to settle cases for large sums. That has become the nexus of so many of these issues. And in that regard, I want to talk for a moment about a um uh vitally important matter that we filed with your support, contrarians, uh myself and co-consel from Platkin LLP and Susman Godfrey, including former AG Matt Platkin and Susman Godfreyy's Justin Nelson.

[00:07:58]And we filed that uh case in federal federal court.

[00:08:08]Uh we filed that matter in federal court in uh Florida. Yeah. And we are asking the federal court uh as leading the New York Times this morning, 35 former federal judges, asking the federal court uh to uh conduct an investigation into the um case that was brought there, whether it was a collusive case or not.

[00:08:39]uh and the settlement of the case that has created such a nationwide scandal with the $ 1.8 billion fund at the Department of Justice and contrarians.

[00:08:52]Um I don't think I've um ever seen anything like what has unfolded in the past week plus in this um purported settlement.

[00:09:04]Um, and the public needs to know and that's why we were very privileged. Uh, and I don't know when I've ever done a case like this with 35 former bipartisan federal judges who have come together.

[00:09:21]They they have centuries of judging experience to say we must have an investigation by the federal court under the federal rule. It's known as rule 60 of this matter. So contrarians, we just wanted you to know your paid subscription to the contrary and make that possible together with over 300 I think the current count is 309 uh legal cases and matters in uh the utmost of importance around the country.
