Entropia Universe: My Biggest Loss Yet

[00:00:02]Siri Overdrive here and today we're going to be doing something a little bit crazy. So we did a stream. We went big.

[00:00:08]We spent over 100 USD mining with amps and I want to do that for a video. So we're going to get a professional amplifier, a big one. And we're going to see just what kinds of crazy stuff we can pull up. So we're going to be sorting. We're going to buy a level 13 finder amplifier because this basically means we're going to be going big every single time. To make a profit with this, we're going to need to hit 50. We're going to need to hit like 500 PDS, about 50 peeds a drop to make money with this.

[00:00:38]I don't think it's possible, but uh we're going to give it a go. We're going to see what happens. I think it's going to be a fun video. Anyways, what I want to talk about is like the number one item that you should buy if you're playing Entropia Universe. And of course, you need a keyboard or sorry, you need a uh you need you need a you need a gaming PC, you need a monitor, all those basics. You need a mouse, a keyboard, all that. But I want to talk about like the best things that you could possibly buy because I just sort of found it interesting. So, I asked Chad GPT like what are the number one things that actually we're not going to go here.

[00:01:38]Anyways, I asked Chad GPT, "What are the best things you could possibly buy if you're playing in Tropia Universe and you have a PC, all that?" And first things first, it said a mouse was the number one thing that you should buy for Entropia Universe. And they recommended a mouse with all these hotkeys, all of that. If you don't know, the mouse that I'm using is a G502.

[00:01:59]A G502, right? Like that mouse, if you look at it, it's not this crazy sort of mouse, right? Like it doesn't have all these buttons, all that. I've got a few extra keys on the side and, you know, one like right where my thumb sits, but that's about it. I just really like the curve of the mouse. And I guess the question I have is, is this a mistake?

[00:02:18]Cuz the one that it recommended, I'm I'm going to spawn a vehicle here because we're going to we're going to drive a little bit a little bit out of the way.

[00:02:24]The one that I was recommended, right, is the Razer Naga. We don't oil. Let's pick that up.

[00:02:36]So, the Razor and Naga mouse, that's the one that was recommended and I I was looking at it. It doesn't to me, I just don't know if it's worth it, right? So, like it it does have a lot of hot keys.

[00:02:51]Like, when I look at this this Razer Naga MS, it says at Micron Micro Center, it's $180 USD, right? So, this is the Razer Naga V2 Pro wireless MMO gaming mouse. It has an interchangeable two, six, and 12 button side plate. So, I like that. And it's wireless, right?

[00:03:11]Like I don't mind a wired mouse. My mouse is wired. You're going to pay a little bit more for wireless. So, 180 bucks. That still does sound expensive, but if I I looked this up, Razer V2 Naga mouse, I think you can probably get a better deal on it. Um, so I I'm I'm just going to Google it real quick. Um, so yeah, like I see this Hypers Speed. You can get for $64 at Target um on Amazon.

[00:03:45]But yeah, like $64.99, that's actually a pretty good deal for the mouse and a reprogrammable reprogrammable button cuz I can see how those would be nice. So, I guess the question I've got is do people actually though jeez that's a big old knob there. Do people actually find themselves using those buttons, right?

[00:04:02]Like especially within Tropia Universe, I understand that there's other MMOs.

[00:04:08]Nothing's chasing me. We're going to get out here and start doing those drops. I understand with other MMOs it could be useful, but with Enropia Universe, like when I'm mining, right, there's only these hotkeys here. I just use a number bar. It's pretty chill. Like my play style in general is pretty chill, but like I just don't find myself using that much with hunt. With hunting, obviously I've got to use some like, you know, I've got to use the number bar every now and then, right? Like there's a few different things I might want to do, but it's not one of those things that All right. Poor.

[00:04:39]Did Yeah, we did. All right. I was I was actually about to like crash out there because I was just like, poor. Oh, come on. Don't do this to me, buddy. Don't do this.

[00:04:55]Jeez, this thing's slow as. Look at this. Look at this big boy. He can't catch me now. Well, he can catch me. Um, that thing just completely ruined the vibe. I was going on talking about a mouse. It's It's not an ad, but it's like I'm I'm posting affiliate links. I feel like I don't know. So, the reason I'm doing this is cuz I would like to do more Intro Universe content, but at the same time, I'm like I want to see if there's a way I can make it actually worthwhile. Like, if I'm spending 50 USD mining, is there a way that I can make well get 50 USD back from the video or close to it? Like, I don't need to make a profit, but you know what I mean. like it would be nice obviously. Um I'm not against money. Uh but anyways, that's part of the reason I brought it up. But I actually do want to know though if people find those mouses useful for a game like Entropia. Like a lot of the other games I'll play are going to be FPS games. And with those, I think the G502 is the perfect mouse, right? Like it's it's got maybe like one or two buttons on here that I might use for something like grenades or you know, you know, maybe like blocking or something like that. For an RPG, I can definitely see a 12 button mouse being useful, but for a game like Entropia Universe, 12 buttons does feel like overkill. So, that's what that's what I want to know, dude. Are people actually Jesus Christ, I am not doing good here. I was supposed to be mining and I feel like this is going to end up being more hunting based, especially now that I've collected all these guys. This this car is honestly like I I feel like this is one of Mindark's biggest mistakes because people get this vehicle and they don't realize that driving in Entropia Universe isn't generally this hard. Like this thing's just sliding all over the place. I just killed myself again. Um but like this this car just slides all over the place. It's a horrible vehicle and this is what people start out off with. Of course, they're going to think the game's like horrible because they're just like they they try driving and they think that the game has the worst driving controls imaginable.

[00:07:08]And that's uh let's try the other vehicle. And that's partially because Mind Dark, I don't know why they did it, but they just they they need to give people better vehicle to try out driving with in my opinion. Like all the base vehicles are not that good and then you get into an actually decent vehicle and realize driving isn't that bad. Anyways though, I'm curious if people use that mouse because that was what was recommended by Chad GPT and I just I can see it, but I also feel like it's just very generic MMO advice that doesn't apply to Entropia Universe. That said though, I do love the fact that it has those changeable panels like the two the nine and 12 button combo. I love that because it's like you can just switch like, you know, if you're playing an MMO, you can switch to that. If you're playing a FPS, you can switch to two button. it it that makes sense to me.

[00:07:56]That said though, when I look at the curve of it, I think the G502 does feel a lot nicer to me. Um, and I did I did I did do a little bit of research, you know, I went and tried out the mouse.

[00:08:05]Um, just just like how it feels at Best Buy. And then, you know, when I say research, it's not like the most advanced research. It was like lunch break, walk by a store, check it out.

[00:08:16]Um, all right. We're we're on a land area.

[00:08:20]Should we should we mine here? lose lose a bit of money to those taxes. People still don't know how taxes work, by the way. Like, I don't know. I'm not claiming to know, but I've heard so many people that are like, "Land area taxes, they definitely hurt your return." Some people say they don't. It's so hard to know because the question is, does the tax come out of Mind Dark's cut or does it come out of the player's cut? Nobody really knows.

[00:08:43]And let's let's check what cut they're taking here, right? They made this way harder to find, by the way.

[00:08:52]I've gotten some pretty big hits here, so I think it's worth it. Let's give it a go. Even though I'm using the mining amp, which is costing me another extra like 29%. So, we need some really good resources or really good hits to make it worth it. And we got a zero 50 PDS down the drain.

Um but yeah, the this mouse that was the number one thing that chat GPT recommended for Entropia Universe. The next thing it recommended, that one, this one really caught me off guard because I don't think it makes any sense whatsoever. I'm not even putting an affiliate link because it was just a ridiculous recommendation. I want to know what other people think. Boom. There we go.

[00:09:51]Global 13 abundant. How much was it? 57 peeds. That's actually not that great because we've spent a lot of money already trying to get to this point. So, not that great, but you know, you got to make do with what you get. Anyways, the next thing it recommended was the Elgato Stream Deck because it's got customizable desktop interfaces.

[00:10:13]I don't like it's great if you're streaming, but I do not see how this is a possible recommendation for an MMO.

[00:10:20]Um, I've heard of some people saying because you can hotkey things and map things, it's good for a game like Hell Divers. I just don't see how it can be that great for gamers. I mean, I'm looking on Amazon now. It's not actually as crazy as I thought it would be price-wise. 150 bucks if you want the 12, 15 Mac row, trigger keys, all that.

[00:10:42]$51.99 if you want the mini which seems to give you six keys. $59.99 for mini isn't bad. I know it's got that those like LED screens so you can customize the buttons and all that so you can make it look cool. I I I can appreciate that.

[00:10:55]I could appreciate the fact that like maybe you could take these icons down here and put them in the deck so you hit it. It's more visible if you're always changing your hotkeys. I could see it making sense. But again, I if you know anything about me, like these hotkeys have been here pretty much forever. I change my hotkeys once I buy either a new gun or if there's like a whole new update to Entropia Universe. I'm not one of those players who's always flipping hotkeys, always changing things. And I am curious, very curious actually. Do these sound like good recommendations to you or is chat GPT just doing its thing out in Never Neverland?

[00:11:34]You I don't know. It's I get it cuz I asked him. So, just to be transparent, I asked like, "What products would you recommend for Entropia Universe?" So, it had to recommend something. It's not going to say like nothing. Cuz I was thinking myself, I'm like, "What would I recommend for players?" I'm like, "A good mouse, like that's always nice when you're gaming. A good keyboard is always nice." I've got a ducky keyboard. Uh, the reason I got that is just because it has those soft key clicks. I got that specifically for doing videos like this.

[00:12:03]If you notice in my videos, you won't really hear much as far as key clicks go.

[00:12:08]That's not because it's like the speaker or the microphone or anything like that.

[00:12:12]If I had a louder keyboard, it would pick it up. And you can hear this with streamers. Like some of the streamers who have those like mechanical keyboards, you will hear them typing even though they have mics that are similar or better than mine. Mine you won't hear it as much. And the reason for that is because I got a silent keyboard. A lot of people say it feels less satis satisfying to me. I I don't really notice it. And I I There we go.

[00:12:41]Doesn't hold true. All right. So I was I was thinking this was like the golden goose right here. And this land area is not producing whatsoever. Cost a little like when I do enjoy P Universe, I always figure it's going to cost a little bit to do the video. So I was hoping it would be the same here. The fact that we've just had so many no hits is really disappointing to me. Um yeah, there there's use those affiliate links. I don't know what else to say. Like I I post them in the other videos and full disclosure they've made zero dollars. Um you know people clicked them which was nice. What is this? Oh man, am I going to get attacked?

You know, I've never gotten a tower before and I feel like at this point I'm going this hard with the uh I I feel like I I've earned it at this point, right? Like my deck, you know, just alter the code a little bit. Throw throw your serial overdrive a little bit of slack. You know what I mean? You can make it happen.

[00:16:16]Okay, this is actually very weird. When I put these amps on, conspiracy theory time. I am not getting any doubles, right? Like it I'm curious. I want to know this. Is it possible? Have people gotten two claims at the same time when they are mining with these big amplifiers?

[00:16:38]because like we've got that old claim that I found, whatever. And then like we've got this one. But I'm like I last time I did the stream.

[00:16:47]We got two of these amps. Did a bunch of drops. No double claims, right? Like I was not finding end matter nor at the same time. I'm still not finding it now.

[00:16:55]So I'm wondering if there's something weird going on where these amplifiers are actually reducing your chance at getting two claims at the same time. And that that could actually be costing you quite a bit when you think about it. So, I'm I'm curious what other players experiences are with that cuz I I just want to know like it is possible that I'm completely crazy.

[00:17:18]I think it's also very possible that there's something going on where they just don't want to do backto-back globals. So, an amplifier this high just ensures that you can't get that.

[00:17:29]So maybe like you've got a head matter and an or global and mind dark tosses one of them out just because it doesn't want back to backs like that. I don't know. I don't know that that's it's a crazy theory. It's a crazy theory, but I'm curious what other people think. Um yeah, we'll see. We'll see. Otherwise, what else do I have to talk about? So, I'm curious for people if maybe it's just like it wasn't advertised to the right people. But hey, if you're watching this video, you're this deep, if you go over that one, it would be really awesome. I'll probably I'll try to remember to link it at the end. But it'd be awesome cuz I really would just want to I just I'm just curious what people think about it. Like it it's like Crimson Desert. I decided to do like the most evil, you know, be the most evil player possible. I did a few evil things, made a few jokes. I thought it was like pretty solid, but it just didn't connect with people. I'm wondering why. Um I don't know. Trying to ask for help here. Maybe, you know, maybe people won't want to help. I don't know. It is what it is. You know, I'm No pressure.

[00:19:13]But I I'd be curious cuz I I made the video and I was like, "All right, this is pretty good. Like I put some music in, it had some swells. I was like, "Okay." Like I was feeling pretty good about the video. I found it entertaining myself, which is usually a good sign.

[00:19:26]And then just it it went nowhere. There were no comments, anything like that. So I'm like, "Huh, maybe I'm just off.

[00:19:32]Maybe the video is not being shown to people." Because that's the other thing, too. Like when you're a smaller channel, smaller creator. I know people are like, "You got 50,000 subs, but let's be honest, they're not like they're real people. are real subscribers, but they're not like they're they're not actively being recommended my videos.

[00:19:51]Like the way YouTube works is it recommends videos to people who watched your videos most recently. So like those are Rust players. I stopped playing Rust. The main reason is just because it was too it it was too stressful and like there were that's a look at this texture as you move it. Like there's a weird Look at that. Do you see Do you all see that? Like right here. See how I'm moving and the texture sort of moves.

[00:20:14]another no hit. Like that's a weird effect there. Uh anyways, and like I I changed genres, so like YouTube doesn't recommend it to those people anymore.

[00:20:23]And even if I picked it back up, a lot of those people did stop playing Console Rust like four or five years ago. That's so weird. Um so because they stopped, look at this texture. Like it has a weird bending effect as you're going towards it. Interesting. I don't think that's on purpose. I feel like that's a bit of a bug. maybe the lighting or something, but it just it gives a weird vibe to it, doesn't it?

I'm going to try and get around all these dots because I don't want to be attacked when I'm mining for stuff that's, you know, tensions are high here because as time goes on, I'm starting to come to grips with the fact that this is going to be horrible. Um, I, you know, like I get that this is gambling here. Like when I'm going big like this, I get it, but I really didn't think it would be this bad. Um, if I'm being honest, so I'm I'm a little bit at a loss here.

Uh, especially with the deeds I've got. Usually, I was like, okay, like if we're down 50 PD, 50 pad, that's not a big deal.

I guess it wouldn't be exciting if there was no loss. But like, and look, I get it. Like I this so this is gambling. like uh you know like is it g this is gambling in the sense of like buying Pokemon cards hoping to get money or something like that. This isn't like a thing that's necessarily it doesn't give me the same like high that gambling does. I don't know why but like it doesn't like if I put $50 on blackjack I'd feel way more hyped than this. So like this isn't a good form of gambling. I just thought it'd be entertaining cuz we'd get like some swirls and I was like we'll lose a little bit of money but it's no big deal. But like yeah, I just didn't expect it to be this much. Um, but I do want to call out too because I know the like a lot of a lot of the big gambling creators, right? Like the ones who are actively doing like blackjack slots, whatever.

[00:24:34]Like one of the big things they're doing is like, all right, one of the big things that is going on is the casinos want you to see these people go broke and then get a Ferrari because you're thinking like even if I go broke, it's not a big deal because look at this person, they went broke and then they got a Ferrari. It's not really like quite the reality of everything that's going on. And you see this a lot on social media, right? Like someone will be like, I just lost everything gambling and now what am I going to do? I'm gonna borrow $100,000, put it all on black, they win it, and then they're like, they make their money back and then they get a Ferrari or something like that's fictitious in a very dangerous way because that's trying to convince people that like you can go broke, you just need to keep getting more and eventually you're going to get that big hit and everything's going to be okay. That's like I don't know if it's scripted or not, but that is a very dangerous narrative in my opinion. Um, I was seeing it going crazier and crazier on social media to the point where it used to be like people would go and they'd make like $1,000, right? And it was like, "Oh, look at that." And like, am I getting attacked?

[00:25:44]So, can I mine this before I completely get killed? Let's see. That's That's what we're doing right now. I'm evading.

[00:25:59]It's a very young mob, though, so I think we're good. Um, anyways, I feel like that's a very dangerous narrative, and I I don't want to be pushing that narrative. Um, so I do want to call that out that like there's no danger of my account going broke or anything like that. This isn't going to be like some sort of like come from behind story where it's just like, oh, look at that.

[00:26:20]All of a sudden, cereal. No, like it sucks. It's a loss. Um, you hate to see it, right? But like the the count's going to go on. This doesn't get me zeroed out. There's no big like I'm playing a game. I knew I did understand that there was a possibility that doesn't work out for me. And despite that, I'm still going to be fine. Like the avatar is going to be fine, the account's going to be fine, all that.

[00:26:47]But that also doesn't mean that you should go out and do the same thing because there are losses. And I know like I don't know this is a weird thing like in tropia universe I always say it's not gambling and then when I do something like this I'm like well this is gam this this is sort of gambling like you know there's a risk and I'm taking that risk right and like it's not as calculated as it should be like I if I wanted to do this the smart way and this is what you should do like I wanted to do this cuz I just wanted to jump out and make a cool video. We're dropping one more pro. Let's see how this goes on. Um, if I want to do it the smart way, what I do is I would Oh, all right.

[00:27:26]So, that is a tough one. Um, we'll add it all up. But what I would do if I wanted to do it the smart way, look up where there's or try and find first scout out where there's high markup ores and n matter. And then I would not buy an amplifier that has a markup that is higher than that markup of the ores and n matter that I'd be looking at. And then the hope would be that that markup of the ores and end matter would beat out the amplifier and it would be a decent run because of that.

[00:27:53]This time how I I didn't do it. I just went to an area that historically has treated me very good even though the markup isn't the best there. I tried to just hope that you know history would carry me by. Unfortunately, it's been a while since I've been mining here. I'm an old account. I'm an old player and I think things have changed and this area is no longer what it used to be. And look at that. 165 PEDs. I don't want to do the math on this, but honestly, that is a 335 PD loss.

[00:28:30]That's a tough one. Um, that's a lot for this account. Like, here, let me let me show you what I made for deeds here.

Cuz like, let's be honest, if I was budgeting from Troy Universe, I'd say a good budget is like 20 to $50 a month. And this run would have pretty much blown through that budget in 30 minutes. So, use this knowledge to um play better than I did.
