[00:00:53]So, yes, my life's been pretty uneventful cuz I've just been at home dying, resting.

[00:04:35]The best thing to do is if you bite one end and then bite the other and then you can drink like your coffee through it.

[00:04:41]Like I as use it as a straw. It's really yummy.

[00:05:57]>> Well, I couldn't think which way which way Mars was. And then I thought, isn't isn't the moon over there? And then isn't Mars over there? And then I remembered that they move.

[00:06:58]That's quite frustrating with some of the things trying to get you to understand and then I'll watch something like tipping a point and I'll ask the most obvious qu question I just completely get it wrong.

I thought I thought that when we're shooting with Alexandra and she has she works on a farm with horses and we're talking about something I I said oh something about when she took her horse into a pub and said in the bar and said what's with the long face and she was there for a minute oh she didn't get the joke but then all of a sudden she got the joke.

[00:11:20]And at that set of lights, I pulled around the corner and he was in one lane and I was going >> the other lane. Yeah.

[00:11:25]>> And he was going he was going really he was going slow and I was so I sped up cuz then it forms into one lane. So I just sped up and >> I slams the horn on for like a good 30 seconds. Did you cut him off? Oh, >> you think he obviously thought he was driving like freaking Miss Daisy?

[00:11:43]>> Well, he might have been a retired police officer that used to work in the government, >> but then it was really awkward because >> you stopped the next set of lights next to >> No, no, no. I made sure that >> Oh, you ran the red light so you stopped next to >> I I can't remember how I I think I pulled into another lane so that he would have been I don't know. Anyway, >> we actually in the car. Yeah, I just can't remember exactly what happened, but I wasn't next to him at the lights, but then I had to pull into the woollies and I noticed behind me he pulled into the woollies and I was like, "Oh no, I'm about to get my head kicked in or something." And so I just pulled out and went back and kept driving and went to the next woolly instead of going into that one so I didn't have to see him.

[00:12:26]>> What? That'd be like some guy some guy the other day sort of did a road rage on me. I didn't do I'm just driving along and he started carrying on and he went in front of me. He didn't know it was like dual road areas but he carried on like I don't know why I was just driving along the middle of the road. Didn't break. I didn't do anything.

[00:12:52]and he pulled in to the parking um where was I no it was pulling in here so he's pulled in here into the service road here and I've pulled in behind him >> he's come right down drove straight out the other side into so he obviously thought I was following him >> my god I I was just scared. I didn't want any confrontation with this person. So, I just just went to another shop instead.

[00:13:31]>> So, if you just sat behind him, you would have got your stuff quicker.

[00:13:35]>> No, cuz I was still on my way home.

[00:14:40]>> That's a problem when you're I It's hard. We we filmed it three different ways so I had flexibility to move and I think it's ended up all right.

[00:14:59]>> So, but it's still it just the 360 cutting that in was a four 360s in 360 mode. So, not only just cutting them into the music, turning the cameras to where I want them to face. And you said you can't do that in Final Cut or you can with that.

[00:15:18]>> Oh, you know in Final Cut you can't um sync them all together.

[00:15:21]>> Oh, that Okay. Right.

[00:15:22]>> So once you sync them, you lose the 360 ability.

[00:15:25]>> That's what I Yeah.

[00:15:28]Fiji. You think >> with music ones anyway? Um the sinking doesn't work because especially when you got a drummer who especially you got people that don't always hit on time or drift. So I actually have to find like if Anna's about to say say P, I've got look for and then I will drag the clip to line up the well it's on her face and you can't see the drums actually eating out of time but >> so annoying.

[00:16:01]>> That's why it takes so long all of those little fine >> tedious >> tedious bits. Now there's lots of people that might never have seen them but >> I could see them. So, I just on there was even one thing I did on uh Sunday night I thought was, "Oh, I need to fix this. It's bugging me every time I'm looking at it." And it took me a good 35 minutes to fix like three frames. Like click click click that quick.

[00:16:26]>> But it took that long to get it to work the way I wanted it to work.

[00:16:31]>> But that's my own silly fault. My working file got up to 3.6 terb.

[00:16:44]>> It was practically my S the one SS drives, but it's if you saw all the layers, I think >> so many layers >> worked out because all the 360s in 8K.

[00:16:55]Everything else is in 4K. The pressure I put on my computer, I could have cooked a steak on it. Lucky I got my new computer.

[00:17:02]>> I was going to say, imagine trying to do that on not on that one. Well, when I did the final run through with Josh and Anna on the Sunday night, I had to put it into proxy mode because it just wouldn't cope anymore.

[00:17:15]>> What does that even mean?

[00:17:17]>> Just puts it lower resolution.

[00:17:19]>> So, it still looks all right on your screen, but it cuts resolution down to about a quarter, >> right?

[00:17:26]>> So, it makes it go at speed because it was starting to struggle only because we decided to put a grain on it. There's a couple of things that really can slow computers down. Things like grains, one of them. Sharp, oversharpening is another one on video. Um, some of gradients can and we'd put a grain on it and I'd put a sepia start with a different grain on it and did a bleed from one grain to the other. Once I did that, it just got I was having hell with computers actually. I was did a I was having a a little mix on over the weekend and I just hate PCs and cuz Jared's been using the PC in the lounge room which I do my mixing on for his Guitar Hero that he's bought again.

[00:18:16]>> I thought that was your mixing computer.

[00:18:19]>> Well, he's playing Guitar Hero on it now.

[00:18:21]>> Can't he play guitar Hero in his little man room? No, he wants to play on a big TV stirring.

[00:18:28]>> And I turned on the because he set it all up so that I'm meant to be able to just turn on the PC and it's meant to have record box open and then I just plug in plug in the decks and it just plug in my decks and it should just work. But then he's changed something with the speakers because we used to have to connect an ox cord, but now he's got like a wireless thingy so we don't have to do that anymore. But I don't know. He >> does the wireless thing because normally when you start going to wireless they start to go out of sync a bit.

[00:18:58]>> No, it works still works perfectly. It's good. But I know he changed a few things but when he turned it off last he still had his guitar hero on. And then I was trying to had to get and then I was like am I allowed to just close this? He wasn't home by the way as well. So his little me trying to do all this. So I was like I think I can close it. I hope I'm not screwing anything up. Then the sound wasn't working. Then I couldn't find the cable and then I remembered that there was the wireless thing but I didn't know how to get that working.

[00:19:23]It just took me very long. I had to call him and disturb him playing video games with the boys.

[00:19:29]>> Well, he should have had it all set back up for you.

[00:19:32]>> I got really frustrated. I'm like, I hate PCs. Why do you like this working again? But I think about you trying to like with the music video trying to line it up. I was having hell with with the certain two songs. Like I was like I was like I know there's a sweet spot and I just can't get and I like thought I'd got it and then it'd be like just a little bit out. So I'd start again and like spin it one way and it was getting worse and I'm like okay it's got to be the other way then it took me a decent hour and a half to finally get it. I'm still not perfectly happy with it but it's better. It's very hard.

[00:20:07]Well I set up when I'm doing that sort of syncing up stuff where I can't auto sync it. Um, I normally just put one in one channel and one in the other and you can hear the difference >> as long as you know that this channel is your this channel is your right and this channel is your left. Otherwise, you start moving it the wrong way.

[00:20:28]>> It's like the moon.

[00:20:31]>> I've done it before. I've been like trying to mix something. I'd be like, "Oh, this is good." and I'll have like both tracks playing and I'll start doing the fade and then I'll go to like swap the sounds completely and I'll just like completely mute the one that I was meant to be like mixing in and I'm like oh god I'll get like so amped like this is going to be so good and then just like completely turn off the sound that I was meant to leave anyway so embarrassing when that happens. This is why I'm nervous to leave my lounge room. What if I do something like that playing in front of people?

[00:21:09]>> No, we we were watching Porter Rob Porter Robinson has his laptop and he uses record box so I can use it with my little cheat codes on there and little Q points.

[00:21:23]All I know is that a lot of the smaller clubs you don't bring your decks in.

[00:21:28]>> Yeah, I know. I'm scared.

[00:21:31]I'm scared. And a lot of places don't put wing decks in because if you got a pop or a crackle in them.

[00:21:36]>> Yeah.

[00:21:37]>> Dirty knobs or >> dirty knobs.

[00:21:39]>> Dirty knob.

[00:21:41]>> I don't have dirty knobs.

[00:21:44]>> That's what I used to hate when we were in a band when we were hiring gear.

[00:21:49]Every second or third PA system had dirty knobs.

[00:21:54]Now the dirty knobs are crackling when you turn the knob.

[00:21:57]>> It's got dust in it and it's horrible for a big PA system. So, we end up buying our own because we got sick and tired of it.

[00:22:05]>> I think I'll finally make my first debut at my birthday party that I need to organize. My private my private bush stuff.

[00:22:15]>> Your private bush stuff?

[00:22:17]>> Yeah. I will finally play in front of people. I'm going be so nervous.

[00:22:23]>> Why? cuz it's just like whenever you start anything like do you remember how were you super nervous on like your first photo shoot?

[00:22:32]>> No, because I didn't even think I was a photographer.

[00:22:35]>> I was only about 11 or 12.

[00:22:38]>> And what about when you first like started doing fashion? Like when you left fishing? Were you not super nervous when you first started doing that?

[00:22:47]>> I wouldn't say I was anxious.

[00:22:50]>> Well, anxious nervous. Same thing. I've always No, I've always felt if I didn't think I could do it, I wouldn't do it.

[00:22:57]So, if the job was outside what I thought I could cope with, I wouldn't take it on.

[00:23:03]>> And every now and then a job went above my comfort zone, but I tend to just Well, it's that thing I say with more than anything, you put yourself under pressure and you can't think.

[00:23:16]>> Yeah.

[00:23:17]>> So, I learned very quick, >> don't don't do that. You don't do that.

[00:23:22]Just if anything, clear your mind and the ants come straight out.

[00:23:25]>> Sometimes I can't clear my mind.

[00:23:28]>> Sometimes it's too foggy.

[00:23:30]>> Must a lot of my early shoots, even though there's a couple that were really big, I don't especially the one I did with um I can't think Angela Machini. I didn't realize how big she was. M >> so we already knew the makeup artist really well and I'd worked once with the model which was friend of the makeup artist. I was sort of like in that comfort zone and it was only when we finished shooting and then the opening of her new collection came out and I went out into the main it's a big shop area but they set up with a slight catwalk on it. I got and I started to see people like Alex Perry and all these other names going, "Oh, I'm glad I'm seeing this now than before." But see, I was Angel's already said she loved the photos and it was exactly what she was after. She was so happy. She even got got on stage when they were doing the announcing of her new range saying that just had a great shoot out the back. So, look out for our new catalog.

[00:24:38]>> I think it's Yeah, I think it's good when you don't realize some things like that. Yeah, I was booked to do some charity thing. Um it was for uh that um the pink thing with cricket, the breast cancer thing.

[00:24:56]>> Oh yeah. and they'd got uh I think it was BP service stations to have one pump set to a pimp pink pump and then every every bit of money that went through that pump got donated and they had that at a few of the service stations and my job was to go there and get some shots of what was happening. Um they had video team there but my job was just to get the stills and they just said um one of one of our slowburies over there can you get some shots with him filling up a couple of cars and see if you can you know make sure he looks happy make sure he's chatting and things like that but we want as candid as possible and I had an assistant back then I had a fair bit of gear I was cutting around had to take some lights to make this in service stations you the light's going to be terrible. So, >> he was on just on some flashes and just fairly a long way back, but just so it didn't feel like flash.

[00:25:57]>> And he goes, "Everyone's making the fuss over him." I said, "Face looks familiar, but I can't think who it is." He kept going and end up being the captain of Australia's cricket team, which was who was really big at the time.

[00:26:12]>> Well, I was just sitting on the we're sitting on the sides waiting. It was really funny. We went like 10 minutes without a car coming in the service station. So, we're just sitting having a water next to each other. We're just chatting. I didn't even realize who he was. And I think he enjoyed not talking about cricket. So, it was actually good.

[00:26:30]Well, it's like when we were rabbits and I was with my friends and they were with one of their friends who they just introduced to me as Kez and I was like, "Oh, hey, nice to meet you." Blah.

[00:26:40]Chatting away this that and the other.

[00:26:41]And then I later on come to find out he's one of my favorite Australian producers from New South Wales. And I was like, "Are you telling me I've been hanging out with three form this entire time and I had no ide?"

[00:26:54]>> Well, cuz I'm like, "Oh, this is Kez."

[00:26:55]And I'm like, "Hey, how are you?" And then I find out cuz his stage name's different. So I was like, >> "Well, isn't it better? You would have been completely different if you'd known who he was arassive fan of yours." Blah blah blah. No, just having a good old chat about nothing of importance.

[00:27:14]>> Besides that, I had a thing just earlier today with somebody wanting me to list, you know, who I've worked with.

[00:27:24]>> You don't do that. Well, it doesn't make any difference who I've worked with.

[00:27:28]>> Yeah. That's I said to Beck, she doesn't even know some of the biggest people I've worked with because it is a long time ago and I got it was just a job for them. I don't put any of that in my folio. I think >> Yeah, >> I got one or two on my website of famous people. But >> But you don't like name drop it?

[00:27:48]>> No, they were fashion shirts.

[00:27:50]>> Yeah.

So, I had all my still had all my raw and all my tiffs and a couple of behind the scenes so I could put a thing together explaining it and then break down the retouched pictures. It's amazing how little I retouched back then. Just tiny little on some of them practically nothing. But anyway, um and I'm working on one at the moment. The same thing.

So he just got some uni student turn up with some shitty camera that didn't work properly.
