Heat transfer occurs through radiation (emission of energy waves) and conduction (direct transfer through materials). Unlike conduction which requires physical contact, radiation can transfer heat through empty space without any medium. This is why objects like heaters warm rooms without touching anything, and why a blanket under a bed helps retain heat by reducing heat loss through the floor.

The Peter & Bec Podcast ep 201Añadido:
Hi guys.
>> Hi guys.
>> She's sick again. Huh?
>> Yes. You'll have to >> I'm not doing another thing with you in the hospital and me standing over you with >> magic dust.
>> You have to excuse my husky voice.
>> That's her Jared voice. She did it too long and now she's stuck with it.
>> You've ended up like somebody as a model we know that changed her voice once and has never gone back to her normal voice.
>> No, I don't know. I don't Like I was I let me try that again.
>> Um what what happened to the brain?
>> I I went to visit my mom and she had some thing wrong with her and I got that off her but then I got better and then just a week ago all of a sudden I woke up one day and didn't have a voice.
It's been fun. Not change this a little bit.
So, yes, my life's been pretty uneventful cuz I've just been at home dying, resting.
>> That's what you normally want to do in the weekend. Just spend the whole weekend in bed. What are you complaining about?
>> This is what you wish in life. Maybe your wish has come true.
>> I don't want to feel like this, though.
>> Feel like this.
>> Yeah, it's all right. I think I'm I hope I'm getting better.
>> Hope you're getting better.
>> I have some medicine.
You nearly tipped that over.
>> I know I did. I saw it.
>> Today I'm drinking Wind Dance from the Margaret River.
>> Wind.
>> It's a Sharz 2018.
>> You've been getting around. Very nice.
>> You've been getting around the wines a lot more recently.
>> Yes. Because I've cut down on drinking scotch and sudden. And is that okay?
>> Yeah.
Just making an observation. You're getting all worried that I'm going to drink all your wine >> because you drink you drink other stuff.
You drink complex wines.
>> Complex.
>> That's what you said.
>> Well, you My favorite wines you go.
>> I know. Which is weird for me to go into a wine.
>> I know. Especially when it's a really good wine.
>> I don't know. Sometimes yours just have like a weird aftertaste.
>> Yeah. That's called the complex.
That's it's the tenins.
I'm drinking Giorello >> again.
>> Again.
>> I think that was what you were drinking last time.
>> Yeah, I have this one quite often. It's a nice book.
>> Just doesn't have the after effects cuz I don't want it.
>> I like the >> No, it's >> the notes.
>> The notes.
>> Yes. It's those complex notes which make a wine.
>> Move this a little bit away from me. I think I put it too close.
>> Oh, you're getting hot.
It's just cooking me a little bit is all.
>> It's cooking you >> a little bit.
>> Oh, I thought with a couple of weeks was Yes. Was it? Don't know if it's the last one. The one before the cake.
>> Well, we're we're a week late anyway.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> So much having an assistant.
>> I forgot.
>> I'm thick.
We can get a Tim Tam out and Tim and put a candle in a Tim Tam.
>> Do we have candles?
>> Um, >> we we do, but I couldn't be bothered getting out.
>> All right, we can have this.
>> You can have one, too.
>> Sorry.
>> You can have one, too.
>> So, this is our Tim Tam cake. It's a very special Australian thing. Cheers.
>> Cheers.
>> Happy 201.
>> Yeah. I don't know how I stuffed that up. Last week was after we finished recording, I went to load them onto the computer. Oh [ __ ] that was 200.
>> Sorry for chewing on your ears, everyone.
Tims are an Australian delicacy.
If you've never had one, you need to find somewhere you can get them.
We normally get them for workshops, aren't we?
>> In London.
>> In London. Yeah.
>> We can't find them anywhere else, can we?
>> I think you can get them in certain places in America now.
>> Yeah. The chocolate two chocolate biscuits with like a chocolate cream in the middle and then it's coated in chocolate. They're delicious.
The best thing to do is if you bite one end and then bite the other and then you can drink like your coffee through it.
Like I as use it as a straw. It's really yummy.
>> I tried it once and dropped it in me coffee.
>> In my coffee was terrible because I had all these fluffy bits in it.
>> Yum.
>> Yum. Well, a couple of weeks ago, we're talking about things that Beck didn't understand, like how do boats float?
And you missed out on one of the best I've ever heard. So, we're talking about going to Mars in a plane.
>> In a plane, in a spaceship.
>> In a spaceship. And I was saying, well, they most likely in time put a base on the moon and that can be sort of like a stepping point. And Beck said, but isn't moon the other way?
>> And then I remembered, oh wait, the moon moves.
>> They all move.
Man, they do.
>> I think that was your best you ever done. Would you actually tell Jared?
>> Yes.
>> He just shook his head.
>> That wine has a lot to answer for.
>> Well, I couldn't think which way which way Mars was. And then I thought, isn't isn't the moon over there? And then isn't Mars over there? And then I remembered that they move.
>> And then >> and then >> I found out that they like because they all move and stuff when they send people to these places, they like they do smart people thing to make sure that it's like going to be the most in line. So it like is the shortest amount of time.
>> Oh yes, I think they do that.
>> I know. I learn.
>> And they do slingshotting off things.
>> Slingshotting?
>> Yes.
>> What does that mean?
>> Well, they will come in close to the moon, hit the gravity, which speeds them up, and then slingshots them.
>> Oh.
>> Oh, >> that's clever. I guess this is why they're really smart people.
>> No, they have computers to make them smart.
That's quite frustrating with some of the things trying to get you to understand and then I'll watch something like tipping a point and I'll ask the most obvious qu question I just completely get it wrong.
>> Yeah, I get frustrated at that. Like even if I know it sometimes and I'm like come on.
>> If I know it surely you've got to know it.
Anyways, that was >> that was >> I think I laughed for quite a long time over that one.
>> You're still laughing over that one?
>> Yes, I am still laughing over that one.
>> Yeah, >> that one and another comment, but it's an in-house joke, so I want to go in.
But there was a back and forth. We're having one night over text and it was about one of her friends had >> Oh, yes.
got scammed and lost all.
>> That's an in-house joke. Yeah.
>> Yeah. But what I was going to say is I mentioned just something that tied into something else >> and I just couldn't stop laughing.
>> Like it was just such a silly little line.
>> He's such a comedian.
>> Well, you laughed and when you told Jared, he laughed.
>> But he didn't even get get the whole joke. You had to explain it to him and he laughed even more.
>> Yes. It's not as funny when you have to explain jokes.
>> No, it isn't. I normally think, oh well, I failed.
>> Yeah, I swear I think as well like if someone if Yeah. If I tell a joke and I think it's funny and then no one gets it, I'm like, okay, clearly it wasn't very funny. I thought I thought that when we're shooting with Alexandra and she has she works on a farm with horses and we're talking about something I I said oh something about when she took her horse into a pub and said in the bar and said what's with the long face and she was there for a minute oh she didn't get the joke but then all of a sudden she got the joke.
>> That was really bad.
>> What's it been? I heard I heard a really bad dad joke the other day and I forgot it.
>> It was actually a rip up, but I forgot it.
>> It mustn't have been that good if you forgot it.
>> No, I only forget the really good ones.
>> Anyway, something that's not a joke. I always laugh. I don't want to pull I have a Pinterest which I have not put anything in there for at least I don't think I've touched it since you've been with me.
I think we were just stopping to use it when I started.
>> So, it's at least eight years.
>> Yeah.
>> So, every now and then I get one, we're taking a pin down because it's violating our terms. Well, sorry, I pinned it off your own site >> and just because you've changed your terms, you can go through and find them all.
>> But it's like we haven't logged on there in many years. It's like I don't care.
You don't have to notify me about this.
Don't go on your stupid. Well, they sent me one the other day saying because it has um self harm to females picture.
>> What was it? We don't know.
>> Well, they say if you want to um dispute it, just click on this button. But how can I dispute it if they can't show me the picture? So, they've taken it down. There's no reference to the picture they've taken down.
All I can think of is the Helmet Newton picture with the gun. But then that's art. And if if people are going to go top himself because of art, >> it's really >> here's a gun.
>> Well, no. Seriously, you can't I know the whole world's working on the lowest common denominator, but >> we have to walk as slow as our slowest walker.
>> It's hard enough to have to drive as slow as the slowest drivers.
>> Yes.
>> And it's talking about dropping your speed limits even more. We don't need to do that.
>> I think we do.
>> No, we don't >> because too many people are walking out in front of cars. Well, why don't you fix the people that are walking out in front of cars?
>> I I overtook someone the other day. They were driving slowly and they didn't like it and they treated me a lot >> for overtaking them. It was pulling like so I was leaving yours and turning down where the um where the BP is on the corner to turn on to Mount Dandong Road to cut through Cordon.
And at that set of lights, I pulled around the corner and he was in one lane and I was going >> the other lane. Yeah.
>> And he was going he was going really he was going slow and I was so I sped up cuz then it forms into one lane. So I just sped up and >> I slams the horn on for like a good 30 seconds. Did you cut him off? Oh, >> you think he obviously thought he was driving like freaking Miss Daisy?
>> Well, he might have been a retired police officer that used to work in the government, >> but then it was really awkward because >> you stopped the next set of lights next to >> No, no, no. I made sure that >> Oh, you ran the red light so you stopped next to >> I I can't remember how I I think I pulled into another lane so that he would have been I don't know. Anyway, >> we actually in the car. Yeah, I just can't remember exactly what happened, but I wasn't next to him at the lights, but then I had to pull into the woollies and I noticed behind me he pulled into the woollies and I was like, "Oh no, I'm about to get my head kicked in or something." And so I just pulled out and went back and kept driving and went to the next woolly instead of going into that one so I didn't have to see him.
>> Oh my god.
>> What? That'd be like some guy some guy the other day sort of did a road rage on me. I didn't do I'm just driving along and he started carrying on and he went in front of me. He didn't know it was like dual road areas but he carried on like I don't know why I was just driving along the middle of the road. Didn't break. I didn't do anything.
and he pulled in to the parking um where was I no it was pulling in here so he's pulled in here into the service road here and I've pulled in behind him >> he's come right down drove straight out the other side into so he obviously thought I was following him >> my god I I was just scared. I didn't want any confrontation with this person. So, I just just went to another shop instead.
>> So, if you just sat behind him, you would have got your stuff quicker.
>> No, cuz I was still on my way home.
>> Oh, >> doesn't wouldn't make that much of a difference. I just didn't want any confrontation.
>> Didn't want any confrontation.
>> I didn't want to sit behind him going really slow.
Oh, >> what? Nothing. Just you and your broom vroom car.
>> My broom vroom car. Well, you know, I still try like I drive like a bit of a grandma. So if someone if I think someone's going slow, you must be going slow.
I'm not a speed demon.
>> Not a speed king.
>> No.
>> I finally finished >> all of Anna's music.
>> Anna's music videos. My god.
>> And now you're singing them in your sleep. Yeah, because I spent three days straight with the one song playing.
>> I reckon it's 200 hours that video.
>> That's a lot.
>> Oh, duh.
>> Why so much?
>> No wonder I have nightmares. Because we >> Oh, that's right. Cuz the direction kept changing.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> That's a problem when you're I It's hard. We we filmed it three different ways so I had flexibility to move and I think it's ended up all right.
>> So, but it's still it just the 360 cutting that in was a four 360s in 360 mode. So, not only just cutting them into the music, turning the cameras to where I want them to face. And you said you can't do that in Final Cut or you can with that.
>> Oh, you know in Final Cut you can't um sync them all together.
>> Oh, that Okay. Right.
>> So once you sync them, you lose the 360 ability.
>> That's what I Yeah.
Fiji. You think >> with music ones anyway? Um the sinking doesn't work because especially when you got a drummer who especially you got people that don't always hit on time or drift. So I actually have to find like if Anna's about to say say P, I've got look for and then I will drag the clip to line up the well it's on her face and you can't see the drums actually eating out of time but >> so annoying.
>> That's why it takes so long all of those little fine >> tedious >> tedious bits. Now there's lots of people that might never have seen them but >> I could see them. So, I just on there was even one thing I did on uh Sunday night I thought was, "Oh, I need to fix this. It's bugging me every time I'm looking at it." And it took me a good 35 minutes to fix like three frames. Like click click click that quick.
>> But it took that long to get it to work the way I wanted it to work.
>> But that's my own silly fault. My working file got up to 3.6 terb.
>> Jesus.
>> I know. It was massive.
>> It's like a whole hard drive.
>> Yeah.
>> Jesus.
>> It was practically my S the one SS drives, but it's if you saw all the layers, I think >> so many layers >> worked out because all the 360s in 8K.
Everything else is in 4K. The pressure I put on my computer, I could have cooked a steak on it. Lucky I got my new computer.
>> I was going to say, imagine trying to do that on not on that one. Well, when I did the final run through with Josh and Anna on the Sunday night, I had to put it into proxy mode because it just wouldn't cope anymore.
>> What does that even mean?
>> Just puts it lower resolution.
>> So, it still looks all right on your screen, but it cuts resolution down to about a quarter, >> right?
>> So, it makes it go at speed because it was starting to struggle only because we decided to put a grain on it. There's a couple of things that really can slow computers down. Things like grains, one of them. Sharp, oversharpening is another one on video. Um, some of gradients can and we'd put a grain on it and I'd put a sepia start with a different grain on it and did a bleed from one grain to the other. Once I did that, it just got I was having hell with computers actually. I was did a I was having a a little mix on over the weekend and I just hate PCs and cuz Jared's been using the PC in the lounge room which I do my mixing on for his Guitar Hero that he's bought again.
>> I thought that was your mixing computer.
>> Well, he's playing Guitar Hero on it now.
>> Can't he play guitar Hero in his little man room? No, he wants to play on a big TV stirring.
>> And I turned on the because he set it all up so that I'm meant to be able to just turn on the PC and it's meant to have record box open and then I just plug in plug in the decks and it just plug in my decks and it should just work. But then he's changed something with the speakers because we used to have to connect an ox cord, but now he's got like a wireless thingy so we don't have to do that anymore. But I don't know. He >> does the wireless thing because normally when you start going to wireless they start to go out of sync a bit.
>> No, it works still works perfectly. It's good. But I know he changed a few things but when he turned it off last he still had his guitar hero on. And then I was trying to had to get and then I was like am I allowed to just close this? He wasn't home by the way as well. So his little me trying to do all this. So I was like I think I can close it. I hope I'm not screwing anything up. Then the sound wasn't working. Then I couldn't find the cable and then I remembered that there was the wireless thing but I didn't know how to get that working.
It just took me very long. I had to call him and disturb him playing video games with the boys.
>> Well, he should have had it all set back up for you.
>> I got really frustrated. I'm like, I hate PCs. Why do you like this working again? But I think about you trying to like with the music video trying to line it up. I was having hell with with the certain two songs. Like I was like I was like I know there's a sweet spot and I just can't get and I like thought I'd got it and then it'd be like just a little bit out. So I'd start again and like spin it one way and it was getting worse and I'm like okay it's got to be the other way then it took me a decent hour and a half to finally get it. I'm still not perfectly happy with it but it's better. It's very hard.
Well I set up when I'm doing that sort of syncing up stuff where I can't auto sync it. Um, I normally just put one in one channel and one in the other and you can hear the difference >> as long as you know that this channel is your this channel is your right and this channel is your left. Otherwise, you start moving it the wrong way.
>> It's like the moon.
>> I've done it before. I've been like trying to mix something. I'd be like, "Oh, this is good." and I'll have like both tracks playing and I'll start doing the fade and then I'll go to like swap the sounds completely and I'll just like completely mute the one that I was meant to be like mixing in and I'm like oh god I'll get like so amped like this is going to be so good and then just like completely turn off the sound that I was meant to leave anyway so embarrassing when that happens. This is why I'm nervous to leave my lounge room. What if I do something like that playing in front of people?
I probably >> Well, you won't be on those decks anyway.
You don't have to learn on real decks.
>> I like these ones, >> huh?
>> No, we we were watching Porter Rob Porter Robinson has his laptop and he uses record box so I can use it with my little cheat codes on there and little Q points.
>> Oh, there's lots of people use.
All I know is that a lot of the smaller clubs you don't bring your decks in.
>> Yeah, I know. I'm scared.
I'm scared. And a lot of places don't put wing decks in because if you got a pop or a crackle in them.
>> Yeah.
>> Dirty knobs or >> dirty knobs.
>> Dirty knob.
>> I don't have dirty knobs.
>> That's what I used to hate when we were in a band when we were hiring gear.
Every second or third PA system had dirty knobs.
Now the dirty knobs are crackling when you turn the knob.
>> It's got dust in it and it's horrible for a big PA system. So, we end up buying our own because we got sick and tired of it.
>> I think I'll finally make my first debut at my birthday party that I need to organize. My private my private bush stuff.
>> Your private bush stuff?
>> Yeah. I will finally play in front of people. I'm going be so nervous.
>> Why? cuz it's just like whenever you start anything like do you remember how were you super nervous on like your first photo shoot?
>> No, because I didn't even think I was a photographer.
>> I was only about 11 or 12.
>> And what about when you first like started doing fashion? Like when you left fishing? Were you not super nervous when you first started doing that?
>> I wouldn't say I was anxious.
>> Well, anxious nervous. Same thing. I've always No, I've always felt if I didn't think I could do it, I wouldn't do it.
So, if the job was outside what I thought I could cope with, I wouldn't take it on.
>> And every now and then a job went above my comfort zone, but I tend to just Well, it's that thing I say with more than anything, you put yourself under pressure and you can't think.
>> Yeah.
>> So, I learned very quick, >> don't don't do that. You don't do that.
Just if anything, clear your mind and the ants come straight out.
>> Sometimes I can't clear my mind.
>> Sometimes it's too foggy.
>> Must a lot of my early shoots, even though there's a couple that were really big, I don't especially the one I did with um I can't think Angela Machini. I didn't realize how big she was. M >> so we already knew the makeup artist really well and I'd worked once with the model which was friend of the makeup artist. I was sort of like in that comfort zone and it was only when we finished shooting and then the opening of her new collection came out and I went out into the main it's a big shop area but they set up with a slight catwalk on it. I got and I started to see people like Alex Perry and all these other names going, "Oh, I'm glad I'm seeing this now than before." But see, I was Angel's already said she loved the photos and it was exactly what she was after. She was so happy. She even got got on stage when they were doing the announcing of her new range saying that just had a great shoot out the back. So, look out for our new catalog.
>> I think it's Yeah, I think it's good when you don't realize some things like that. Yeah, I was booked to do some charity thing. Um it was for uh that um the pink thing with cricket, the breast cancer thing.
>> Oh yeah. and they'd got uh I think it was BP service stations to have one pump set to a pimp pink pump and then every every bit of money that went through that pump got donated and they had that at a few of the service stations and my job was to go there and get some shots of what was happening. Um they had video team there but my job was just to get the stills and they just said um one of one of our slowburies over there can you get some shots with him filling up a couple of cars and see if you can you know make sure he looks happy make sure he's chatting and things like that but we want as candid as possible and I had an assistant back then I had a fair bit of gear I was cutting around had to take some lights to make this in service stations you the light's going to be terrible. So, >> he was on just on some flashes and just fairly a long way back, but just so it didn't feel like flash.
>> And he goes, "Everyone's making the fuss over him." I said, "Face looks familiar, but I can't think who it is." He kept going and end up being the captain of Australia's cricket team, which was who was really big at the time.
>> Oops.
>> Well, I was just sitting on the we're sitting on the sides waiting. It was really funny. We went like 10 minutes without a car coming in the service station. So, we're just sitting having a water next to each other. We're just chatting. I didn't even realize who he was. And I think he enjoyed not talking about cricket. So, it was actually good.
Well, it's like when we were rabbits and I was with my friends and they were with one of their friends who they just introduced to me as Kez and I was like, "Oh, hey, nice to meet you." Blah.
Chatting away this that and the other.
And then I later on come to find out he's one of my favorite Australian producers from New South Wales. And I was like, "Are you telling me I've been hanging out with three form this entire time and I had no ide?"
>> Well, cuz I'm like, "Oh, this is Kez."
And I'm like, "Hey, how are you?" And then I find out cuz his stage name's different. So I was like, >> "Well, isn't it better? You would have been completely different if you'd known who he was arassive fan of yours." Blah blah blah. No, just having a good old chat about nothing of importance.
>> Besides that, I had a thing just earlier today with somebody wanting me to list, you know, who I've worked with.
>> You don't do that. Well, it doesn't make any difference who I've worked with.
>> Yeah. That's I said to Beck, she doesn't even know some of the biggest people I've worked with because it is a long time ago and I got it was just a job for them. I don't put any of that in my folio. I think >> Yeah, >> I got one or two on my website of famous people. But >> But you don't like name drop it?
>> No, they were fashion shirts.
>> Yeah.
now that because at the end of the day I still say that even for a model's sake or even my sake if someone goes oh wow did you shoot Angelina Jolly they're not saying you're a good photographer they're just saying you shot her >> yeah this is true >> whereas if they go oh my god who's that >> that's much more like >> yeah like the amount of times the te test t-shirt gets that >> and it's to me that's gratifying Because no, she's not a celebrity, but you've treated her as if she was.
>> Yeah, >> because of my photo.
>> This is true.
>> What's she looking?
>> I was making sure the red light was on.
But yeah, there's a the few things that I know it's a bit bad, but I still laugh at a few things where photographers love to name job or they love to do the internationally published >> awardw winning >> award-winning >> internationally published photographer >> photographer like that doesn't well to win a back in the day I can't remember aperture awards it was $35 and you're pretty much guaranteed to get a bronze So, you're all $35. You can call yourself an award-winning photographer.
>> It's not like the greatest feat in the world.
>> No. And internationally published. Right now, as soon as you put it on Facebook, it is internationally published.
>> Exactly.
>> This is so true.
>> I did have a a lot of laughs of some people when I was getting into it. Um, people they put their clients and they would put things like Vogue and all of these. something.
You haven't worked for Vogue?
Oh, no. But an ad they shot went in Vogue.
>> Well, I don't see that as shooting for Vogue.
>> Yeah.
>> Or the people, another person who said to me that I'm shooting Dontise tonight.
I thought, "Wow, you are. Well done." I find out he went to the red carpet and shot her. Anybody could have stood at the red carpet and shot her.
>> It's a bit embarrassing.
Yeah.
>> Are you still getting hot?
>> Yeah. I don't know whether to just turn it off.
>> It's I can Is it still too hot for you there?
>> No, I think it's better now.
>> It's better there.
>> Yeah. I was just getting with my blanket and and the heater. I was just getting a little tosty.
>> Toy?
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. I don't think I've been I found a guy the other day on YouTube and can't remember what Oh, that's right. He basically said, "I have 140 lenses and I've just realized I only ever needed one."
>> So, I wanted to hear. And it's an oldish guy, you know, he's maybe 65, 70, my age, maybe a fraction. And he's talking way. He's making lots of sense. and he was mentioning some of the people that he used to love their look and now he's gone back and had a look at what they were shooting and he goes, "Oh, well that's equivalent to a 40 mil on a SLR and that's my favorite length." Without him even realizing when he came down to his favorite lens, he said basically had two. He said the 40 mil. Um, but he also loves the 70 to 200 because he can quickly grab things from a distance without people notice he's shooting them. Mhm.
>> And he was going along and as he's just pictures popping up and a few of my sort of recognized, but I didn't realize they were his >> until he got a little bit further on into the YouTube video. And he mentioned I use um I use this camera with this, which ended up being like equivalent to a 40 mil lens. I went, "Wow, I know your work.
I've never and there's so many pictures I knew and really liked but I didn't know who had taken them and it was that thing was see I already liked his work without knowing who he'd work with who who I think that's much more important than >> I agree >> I photographed Albanesei >> I agree >> you agree >> yes >> yes my one of my favorite shows were finished.
>> The boys >> The boys.
>> I did I did like the final episode.
>> I just thought you I know you >> there might be a spin-off come off it, but you haven't watched it so you can't even comment.
>> Yeah, I know. What I was just going to say is that what you've told me doesn't sound like my cup of tea.
>> My It doesn't sound like my glass of wine.
>> There's a few doodles in it. You like watching doodle shows? You What is it? a game of Com of Thrones.
>> We've nearly finished Euphoria season 2, so I think new season 3 should be nearly finished so I can binge all of that.
>> Well, I haven't watched it for a couple of weeks because I don't because I don't like what you're doing to me. What?
>> Yeah. So, I can't talk about it and I can't because Oh, we've decided to go back a year or two. Four.
>> Four.
>> Well, that's why we wanted to go back cuz it took him four years to re to do the new one. And I wanted to jog my memory on things that happened.
>> Jog it.
>> And also wait a few weeks to build up some episodes so I don't have to wait a week between episodes. I get impatient.
>> Impatient.
Yeah. I was sure I said to her last night, "Do you want to watch a movie?" I had editing to do. And she no, I don't want to be that late. And I said, "I can put on that series on Apple that you liked with the m the newborn, the mother."
>> Mhm.
>> Oh, yeah. I'll just Yeah, just put one of them on four episodes later. She goes, "Right." I said, "You could have watched two movies in that time."
>> I've been wanting to watch that Apex movie on Netflix, but the trailer looks a bit predictable.
>> Oh, is that the one with Charlies? Yeah.
No, I've It's got some pretty bad reviews.
>> I just I don't know. I watched the trailer and just >> I think it's only got like 60 on Rotten Tomato. just the trailer looks a bit predictable. So, I was going to put it on the other night, but we decided to watch the roast of Kevin Hart instead, which was funny, but I don't know. Like, roasts are funny, but it's funnier when you know more about the person. And as we were watching it, Jared and I realized we actually don't know that much about Kevin Hart. So, a lot of the jokes kind of just went over our head cuz >> So, there would be lots of jokes that would have been in house anyway.
>> Yeah. But I think the last roast that they had was Tom Brady and cuz I like the roasts. I like the way that the people on the panel roast each other as well. And normally there's Pete Davidson's on there a lot and I like him. And this one had Tony Hinchcliffe who's like one of my faves. So I was interested to watch that. But even the Tom Brady one I put it on and but I know I know stuff all about him except for that he used to be married to Jazelle and he plays football.
It was at least with Kevin Hart I know that they're going to pick on him for being really short. He's only like 5 foot two and he's in a lot of really bad movies. So I'm like are they going to pick on him for that? But then I kind cuz a lot of jokes were recurring. So I started to pick up on him.
>> Was he in Anaconda?
>> He was in Jam the new Jamanji.
>> Oh the new Jam No.
>> I don't know.
>> He's just he's normally in like really >> Yeah. Not crappy movies.
>> So there's a lot of jokes about that and jokes about him. Anyway, it was funny. I was just I mostly was watching it for for Pete and Tony.
>> Pete, my mate Pete.
>> Pete. Pete David.
>> Name dropper. Pete.
>> And then they had Oh, then they had a really a few few really nice pans to a certain person in the crowd. I was like, you could just keep the camera on that one.
Pete's bestie.
My other husband. MGK.
>> Are they good friends? Are they?
>> They're besties.
>> Oh, I didn't know they were.
>> Yeah, they're best friends.
So he was in the crowd and they did a few pants to him. I was like, "Oh, just keep the camera there, please."
Watched a really good podcast with him the other night. It was very interesting. He's a very goofy guy, but he was saying that he's only recently started to do that to like kind of drop his guard down and be a little bit more himself.
>> Who we talking about?
>> MGK.
>> Oh, >> sorry, I pivoted away. Talk about >> I didn't know if you were talking about Pod M. No, Pete. Pete David. Well, both of them are are sober now and both have little newborns and they're not bad.
>> Yeah, but one of them's Yeah, both have newborn, but he's not hanging around with the newborn.
>> What do you mean?
>> MGK, haven't they split up?
>> No, they're co-parenting, but he's he's been on tour at the moment.
>> Oh, it's a very good co-parenting while he's on tour, isn't it? We're just going to stick it stick the kid in the W bin for the night.
>> He's making money.
>> I think he has money.
>> We have heaps now that he's gone sober and doing >> his habit would have been 100 trillion a night probably.
>> I still want to find out more about this Kim Kardashian.
Oh, they found like drugs in one of her.
>> Not just a little bit, a lot.
>> What? What did you say? It was in like a shipment of >> a shipment of her lingerie.
>> It was coming to her.
>> Oh, >> and the truck driver, there's one that's been charged, but I think the police >> Was it going to her or like her warehouse?
>> Oh, yeah. That's her warehouse, >> right? H that is a bit suspect.
>> Yes.
Anyway, >> now I want to know more about it.
>> Yeah. Well, they've been very quiet, so I don't know. There's just money happening behind the scenes.
>> I love a bit of >> If you've watched um but you don't like it and never seen it. If you'd watched Ozark, you'd know what I'm talking about.
>> Well, CIA actually allow drugs and guns and that and they do swapsies.
>> Yes. So, it might have been >> came up with a deal with her.
>> How interesting. Well, I want to know now. I know. I'm invested. I love it when there's >> I want to know how much it's her and um Louiswis Hamilton together.
>> What do you mean?
>> Well, you see it.
>> That's got to be a PR stunt.
>> Yeah, I reckon because you don't hear anything on the F1 shows, so it's never >> Do you hear about the other girlfriends?
>> Of other play other people? Yeah.
Are they as high profile as Kim though?
>> Uh well Max for Stafens is >> only because she's with Max. Um >> maybe they're not allowed to. I don't know.
>> I don't know. Just Yeah. I don't know.
But yeah, F1 on your Lewis comes second.
>> Yes. You've been rooting for him this season.
>> Yes. It's It's good to see. It's I'm liking even though I'm don't think I love the drivers have to drive the car based on how much battery it has rather than so like skill of when when not to use the battery.
I find that's not as important as a driving skill of when to break and when to turn, when to accelerate.
>> Mhm. So I get a little bit but I am enjoying the little kids winning all the time. Do you reckon?
>> Um I put it more down especially early on they're a little bit fearless.
They're a little bit they get this belief they haven't crashed 40 times yet.
>> Yeah.
>> So they haven't got oh don't do this you might crash.
>> Yeah. Um they're a little bit quick of their reactions that young and >> young whippers snappers.
>> Young little whippers snappers. Um but he nearly like he won it but he nearly got he nearly completely crashed it out >> by overighting his teammate. But I did Yeah. It was fun and I don't know. I had to laugh when Orlando's car died and I also had to laugh when Russell's car died.
>> It's just certain people it's sort of I know it's really wrong but just certain people it's like oh poo.
>> Well, it's it's like I I'm very excited for a fight that just got announced.
We'll be we'll be overseas, but that's all right. I will make sure I watch it.
McGregor fight got announced and >> you just want to see someone break his other leg, right?
hate him.
>> Hate him.
>> He's just he's I just I just find him to be a complete wanker.
And that's why the last time he fought when his leg got broken, I was like even though it was so disgusting to watch, I was like, "Oh, oh god." But the guy he's fighting's really good at knockouts. So, I just can't wait to see him get a little left, right, good night.
>> Left, right, good night. Who told you this one?
>> Who didn't come up with it?
>> I don't know. Everyone says it.
>> Oh, I was going to say >> let Oh, it's going to be so satisfying.
You can watch it with me.
>> Oh, >> I don't know where we'll be in the world. I think it's July 12th. I think that means >> I've got no idea. I look at the calendar the day after I've been there.
>> I know.
>> So, I I know nothing.
>> I will be watching it and I will be very happy. Can't believe we leave so soon.
It always sneaks up really fast. I feel like the last month just goes like, >> "Well, >> it's four weeks, isn't it?"
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Four weeks.
>> So much to get done in four weeks.
>> I feel like this I feel like it goes like I don't know why the last month just really vanishes.
>> Goes so quickly.
>> I just think time vanishes. We're nearly up to June.
>> I know. It's cooked.
>> It is. It's >> I know.
And then we get and then even I was looking at the calendar before we get home and I'm only home for a little bit and then I go off to ballet.
>> Yeah. Home for a week then piss off for another two weeks >> with my mom's 70th >> and then I'm taking an extra 3 days.
>> I'm not saying anything.
Think I'll enjoy the time without you.
We got when we were meant to come home, then we realized the flight wouldn't have got us home until Tuesday morning, which was like the red eye. So, they would have been coming back. Anyway, worked out there was only an extra 3 days that we're taking. And the place we found was an absolute steal. I can't believe how cheap it was.
A >> steal. It was an absolute steal.
Ballet.
>> Ballet.
>> Ballet.
>> Ballet.
Can't wait to pay people to try and sell me stuff for me. Say no 500 times.
>> You don't even let them. You run away from those places.
>> There's this this really cool bar that is on the beach and you sit in bean bags. And when Jared and I were there for a holiday, I was trying to, you know, sit there and enjoy our cocktails. And some person came up trying to sell Jared these prints and he told Jared a price and Jared was like, "Oh, okay." And then he gave him a price to get three. And so Jared's like, "Okay, yeah, like these are actually really cool. I'll get three." And he picks them out. And then all of a sudden the price changes to like triple what he said. And Jared's like, "No, no, no. That's not what you told me."
>> They did that with the t-shirts as well last time we went.
>> Yeah.
>> You sure you're not mixing that up at one of >> No, no. I remember this is clear as day because >> So he got nabbed. He's been caught twice on the same trick.
>> He's not very quick.
>> No, he didn't. He just said, "No, I'm not interested." But then because we couldn't walk away, we're sitting down at in these bean bags with our hand on him.
>> He just sat there and kept like guilting us. And we're like, "Go away. You lied to us."
He sat there and kept guilting and guilting. And I ended up getting a staff member to get him to go away. Can't trick people like that. Like Jared was legitimately going to he was really interested in buying them and it's just because he lied and he tried to trick him but Jared's like, "No, you don't get my sale now. You trick me.
>> Go away.
>> Go away.
>> Let me just enjoy my cocktail.
Is it going to be hum?" No, cuz it's August there is. It's always humid, isn't it?
>> I don't know.
>> I thought you knew things. I don't know anything.
>> Been to barley twice in my life. Didn't like both times.
>> I thought you knew things. invested into Bali.
I'm looking more at nicer places than that.
>> Well, we're only going there because >> New Zealand.
>> New Zealand. I did like New Zealand >> or Tasmania's.
>> You want to go? I've never been.
>> I was some I watched a little mini documentary on it. It's recorded the cleanest air on Earth.
>> Really?
>> Yeah. certain wind blows a certain way off Antarctica and it's the air that's in that wind has traveled the furthest from any town anywhere in the world. So in the measure scale it was measuring zero and they hadn't measured zero anywhere.
>> It was coming in onto the west coast when it comes off the west coast. So it must be whatever it was. But because I said one when the air is hitting Antarctica, there's pollution still in it. So by the time it's got to >> I want to go interesting.
>> I want to go to all the weird named places in Tasmania. They have really strange names for places there. It's like Egg and Bacon Bay.
>> Better than that.
>> That's so funny.
>> Yeah, I can't remember. Is that They're much better than that.
You know, oh, you know, we have I think I think it's in Victoria, actually. We have a place called Mount Disappointment.
>> Yes.
>> That's so funny.
I should go live there.
>> Oh, there's a F worded name. F worded name.
>> I think it's in there's a lot of f- worded names in New Zealand.
>> Yeah.
Yeah, I think I remember that. No, Tazzy's got some really funny. I really want to go to Tazzy. I've never been there before.
>> Oh, >> we should go.
>> We should go.
>> We should go to Japan as well.
>> Yes, maybe.
>> I want to go to Japan. I miss it there.
>> Sorry.
>> I miss it there.
>> You miss it there in Japons.
>> Japans.
>> I haven't been.
>> It's fun. It feels like a little movie set. Everything's just I don't know.
It's really clean and cute.
>> I don't think I'd like it.
>> You would?
>> I don't want cute. I don't want to go into breakfast bars to have cats sit on your lap while you're trying to eat breakfast.
>> You don't have to go to the cat. You can't eat in the cat cafes. You only can have drinks >> and patch the cats.
>> Couldn't think anything worse. It' be like going to your house.
>> No.
>> No. No, I'd love to go to Japan, but I think my where I'd like to go wouldn't be where you like to go.
>> Like where?
>> To the outer areas.
>> I don't mind outer areas.
>> The outer and about areas.
>> Outer.
>> I know. I'm bit I got a gut feeling.
Don't hold me to it. There's a lot of activity happening at the moment. I reckon there might be something happening on that ring of fire. a ring of fire >> or the ring of something. There's a fault line in a ring that connects up to all these other rings and there's a few volcanoes started going off all together.
>> That's a bit scary.
>> Yes, it's a bit. We had a couple of earthquakes which are still on those plates.
>> We don't they don't affect us though, do they?
>> Um >> I know we don't have any volcanoes.
>> Yes, we do.
>> Australia. No, we don't.
>> Yes, we do. I heard a video the other day that we don't have any volcanoes.
>> I'm certain we do. There's a mountain down past Jalong. That was an old old old It's all volcanic rock there.
>> Well, maybe we don't have any active ones.
>> No, we don't have any active ones.
>> Maybe that's what they meant.
>> But it's just like a pimple. It's sitting there.
>> A pimple.
>> Well, until something comes up. Now it's active.
It's >> like a pore then. It's not a pimple yet.
>> A pore. A big paw.
It's a giant paw that needs to >> Yeah, we've got a volcano right next to a crater.
So, we've got a lake, which is a crater, and then we got a volcano.
>> I hardly know her.
>> Sorry.
>> Crater. I hardly know her.
>> What?
>> What?
I swear that I I could >> I don't swear we're not allowed to on this channel.
>> Why not?
>> Why not? Oh, we can say the odd f. I was going to say I think I've said I think I've accidentally dropped an F.
>> We just can't say it in the first.
>> I think I've accidentally dropped one before.
>> You horrible person. You You'll get us cancelled.
>> Sorry.
>> Oh, I skipped one with things that was supposed to come after Anna Band.
They had a I think it was an ad for their last single on Facebook came up and Facebook's Meta has got this new Meta AI.
>> Yes.
>> And at the bottom of the post, Meta AI said, "Would you like to know more about Anna or would you like to know about Peter Coulson?" Because it had me listed as the director for their video. And I clicked on said, "Why not?" And I've clicked on it. It was so wrong. like wrong in a good way but a bad way because I don't want to.
One thing is I'm known for my beautiful saturated color. What planet are you on?
Like and that just some of the things that were talking.
Well, it's like I remember when you did I think it was on maybe the Grock or something. You asked you asked it who I am and it started saying that I'm a model and it said that I'm like 5'6 or something and no I'm not actually cuz I did um I did my first first shoot in a while with someone other than Peter on the weekend and but I get this a lot like when we meet people at workshops because they've seen us online like you're a lot taller than I was expecting and even the photographer was like wasn't expecting you to be this tall like I've been trying to work out like how tall is she?
>> We had that remember even in was in Zurich in Oldtown the guy with who's running with the pram.
>> Yeah.
>> He goes, "You two are so much taller than I thought you were."
>> Well, he was quite short too. So that >> Well, photographer was probably like not too much shorter than me. But then one of I you know my big thigh high chunky boots. I bought them with me and we put together an outfit with and I was like >> I am warning you they they make me really tall. Like I've already told myself fall over. I get nose bleeds up there.
>> I don't fall over in those. But with but like cuz his studio is just in his house and he was like I told you they make and he was like hopefully I can adjust my lights to be enough for this. And then he had to like find something to stand on. And I'm like, I'm sorry. I did I did warn you they are going to make me extremely tall cuz I'm nearly 5'11 and then these are like like like five or 6 in boots. So yeah, they make me quite tall.
>> I had lots of things like my main photography in main photography influences and I had like I like Ancel Adams work but I don't think I have a book of his.
It's really >> like he's a great photographer, but it's >> I wonder where he's getting this information from.
>> I don't know. It had uh well Irving Penn, which I do like, and it had um Albert Watson, who I also like, but I don't it didn't mention Helmet Newton or Peter Lindberg.
>> That's so random.
>> It had Patrick, who I've cancelled.
Well, it doesn't know I've canceled Patrick.
>> It's really random. I wonder where it gets this info from.
>> I don't know. But I did enjoy pressing the down thumb to say, you know, you got it. And it comes up with what's wrong. I basically put down the information was not accurate.
>> Was not accurate at all.
>> Been meaning to ask you, why are you fidgeting with a tap today?
>> Why?
>> Yes.
>> It was cold enough brass balls today, so I got a brass tap. No, >> you know, I like the feed and I >> No, but I know why you had a tap today.
The tap was in my computer bag because my tap on my port barrel in my bar is stuck and jammed. And as much I've tried to clean it, it's just old and jammed up and crappy. So, I ordered a new one and it's the same size thread, but it's not.
So, I went to get a brass bit from Bunnings, the superstore.
>> I don't know. They've never claimed to be this >> one-stop shop.
>> They've never claimed to be this. I have.
>> I've never heard them claim to be this.
>> Well, they're not.
>> Why have Why have a building so big that you could walk into any tiny little town and they would have a hardware store as big as this area where just in here? And it would have every single bit.
>> It's called Bunnings Warehouse. I've never had >> rows and rows of one thing.
>> I've never heard them claim to be a one.
Instead of having a wheelbarrow, we'll put 60 wheelbarrows there.
>> You can only sell one a week, but why would you?
>> I don't know.
>> Anyway, so I've still got my brass tap in my bag. And I thought that's a fidget.
>> It's a fidget.
>> Well, the other fidget thing I can't fidget as much with.
Well, it's not it's not as fidgetable.
I have a spike. A spike. What the hell is that for? Is that to nail into my heart?
>> No. You need timber for that, you vampire.
>> No, it's a spike.
>> What for?
>> Spike. You hammer it in to and you can tie things. It's like a tent peg spiky thing.
>> It's very random.
>> You better not try to travel through customs with that in your bag. Oh >> yeah, I think I should take that out.
Try and get through customs.
>> Probably might be a good idea.
Why?
You should be.
>> What are you looking at? To >> how long we've been talking for?
>> You're trying to rush me, aren't you?
>> Well, I still have one more thing on my list. I'm allowed to talk about my one more thing on my list.
>> Sorry I didn't bring very much to the table, guys. I've been sick, so I don't have >> still. No, I just >> always >> So lying in bed coughing up oysters isn't really that fun.
>> Well, now you should be able to swallow an oyster.
>> No, because I'm so used to having them in your mouth.
>> No, because I cough and then it I go and I it comes out.
>> Spit it out. Cough it up and spit it out for a minute. Sorry, I've just been boring sitting at home. either DJing or sleeping.
>> We haven't been DJing because that hasn't worked.
>> No, I did. I managed to DJ.
>> Correct. Anyway, what was your last thing you talk about?
>> I've been enjoying someone brought up a while ago that they saw one of my pictures and wanted to know how I lit it and how what was the retouching and it was like 2011 or something before we did >> inspire anything. So, I did a tutorial.
I really enjoyed going back. So, I had all my still had all my raw and all my tiffs and a couple of behind the scenes so I could put a thing together explaining it and then break down the retouched pictures. It's amazing how little I retouched back then. Just tiny little on some of them practically nothing. But anyway, um and I'm working on one at the moment. The same thing.
I'm really enjoying watching my old processes. I did say things a lot too much like what cool cool. I was a little bit although it was a big that was I wasn't scared about that shoot but she would be most likely >> cooking on your shirt.
I know you're fine. It's just that monitor.
Yeah. Sorry.
>> Yeah. She's basically I was trying to find the right words. I actually have to put it into a tutorial. So Annie Winters would be the queen of fashion.
I would say Daphne would have to be the princess because for her to have people like Alexander McQueen said that she is his muse.
>> Um Carl Laggerfel another one. And then you look at the photographer friends like David Lash Chappelle and Nick Knight. They're really really close friends. Um Bob Dylan is super close with her. Just so many people around her and I saw her at an event the other day and the amount of people sort of ran up to say hi including Annie winners.
>> You see a Bolt come over and go with the biggest hug in the world and it sort of oh I got I know it sounds like her name dropping but I'm not. But >> um we it was just like when I was working with it was just like any other person.
>> Yeah. and watching back of the shoot, you know, me bossing her around. I'm thinking, Jesus, I'm ballsy. No, Daffany, no. No. Come. I kept on saying, um, Stanley Kubri center. Bring it to the center.
She was starting to get too flamboyant.
I kept on wanting to bring She was over all her little pyramids that she she fascinated by pyramids. So, she's got lots of pyramids inside her apartment building. Um, >> I'm excited to see this once it's finished cuz I wasn't around in those days.
>> No, you weren't.
>> This was before Beck.
>> It was before Beck.
>> The good old >> and my old assistant was so spewing.
>> Well, I was spewing too supposed which we just I literally flew over there >> for a one day shoot. So, I flew to New York for a one day shoot. I was there I'd say all up three days. So that's including getting in at 8:00 at night into New York. That's one day, >> the next day shooting and then >> next day leaving.
>> Next day leaving.
>> Um but instead of her coming along, uh the magazine editor had to come and be the wanker and come along. I knew well there goes my any assistance for me.
And because we had to supply some video work as well for it because it was for a cover and a 20page spread. Um, and I wanted to get some behind the scenes footage and an interview for publicity and he was oh no, he'd party too much a night before. So he just got some uni student turn up with some shitty camera that didn't work properly.
>> The sound system was crap.
>> That sucks.
But m assistant was spewing. She was really wanting to >> Of course she was. That would have made as well.
>> Good fun.
>> Good fun. Yeah, I am enjoying that. And it's one of um and the next one I'm going to do is one of our in the car, which I got some good behind the scenes footage from that one, too.
>> Fun.
>> Fun.
>> Anyway, you can kick me out now.
>> Kick you out now. Well, sorry. I'm hopefully I don't sound so husky next time, guys.
>> Husky eyes.
>> She now has an only. It's so annoying.
>> She talks dirty to you.
>> I don't. What is >> She only shows her feet and she talks dirty to you.
>> No feet picks.
>> I said that to someone the other day.
Someone commented something dumb on social media about you cutting my foot off and it's commented on like she doesn't give feet pics for free.
I mean leave dumb comments. I'm going to give dumb answers. I don't give a [ __ ] anymore.
>> Yeah, watch it if you comment. That sounds to her dumb.
>> Which way is the moon from the earth?
It moves. Yeah, >> I didn't Oh, we didn't do things that Beck doesn't understand. It's all right.
We'll do that next week.
>> No, but I did the thing on the moon >> that filled in with something you don't understand.
>> I'll find some more things I don't understand next week.
>> Well, I can give you one to think about.
>> What's that?
>> How does heat travel?
>> How does cold travel?
>> Heat rises >> because of it's higher than you.
because of like air waves.
>> There's not much air moving around in here, huh?
>> That's like That's like a contraption.
That's like >> It's like a contraption.
>> It's like pushing. It's pushing it.
>> There's no fan on there.
>> It's radiating.
>> Radi I was waiting for you to find that word. Radiating.
>> Yes. Like how Jared radiates heat as well. Well, he's a human heater. There's no fan on him.
>> So, why do you need to get a rug under your bed?
>> You still think something's going to heat up on its own?
>> Oh, it's just going to make the room warmer.
It won't be as cold. Like when you walk in there, it's like But if there's a rug in there, it wouldn't be as >> maybe if you had holes in the floor and you're stopping holes air. So, this sitting here is not going to warm you sitting out here.
>> It's certainly warming >> out here.
>> It's only warming your filling it with your farts and warming up the thing with your juices.
>> Oh, that just died. It's not radiating anymore.
>> Maybe that's a hint.
>> We have someone coming as well.
>> All right. Well, I'll stop radiating.
>> Well, hopefully I don't sound as husky next week, guys. Um, but thank you for joining us for episode 201, not 200.
>> We'll try and get it right when we get to our 500th.
>> Maybe. Can't promise anything.
>> No, 250 is a good. That's five year. Oh, no. It's actually more than five. Uh, no, less than 5 years. We should do the four years.
>> What's that?
>> 4* 2 >> 8, >> right? 8 plus 200 >> 208 four years.
>> I did math.
>> You did math.
>> Yeah. I'll give you a stat. A trophy.
